I am a couple of days late on this review, but I just HAD to do one. I have been desperate to find a nail shop in my area that would meet my personal criteria. So to find this place has been a sigh of relief!
I have only one problem, which in all honesty has nothing to do with the service itself. I understand that Shellac is popular and ALL shops charge extra for it, but $10-$15 more just because of the polish choice drives me up the wall. In all fairness, they are not the only shop that charges that much.
So I am not originally from this area, so I usually commute back to my hometown (The East Bay) to get my nail services done. Within the last few months I stopped getting my pedicures/nails done because for as much as we pay, I was tired of settling.
I'd been looking for a shop that:
*fairly quiet (no gossip/loud talk/screaming kids/etc.)
*Used a liner in the foot tub OR faithfully practiced the 10 minute soak
*Did quality nails (not bulky/thick etc)
*Prices were affordable (which no nail shop has *rolls eyes*)
This place isn't large, maybe 6-7 pedi chairs and about 5-6 nail stations, but it's nice.
Let me go back a little. I don't believe in wasting my time or anyone else's, so I called this shop a couple of days ahead of time to ask a few questions, and they were patient and kind and thoroughly answered what I asked. They didn't allow any language barrier to keep them from providing customer service (and this was over the phone)
I paid attention to the following:
*they genuinely greeted each person that came through that door
*Never reused nail clippers, scrub brushes, etc.
*Utensils were sanitized and prewrapped for each client
*Little to no speaking to each other in their language (I know that bothers a lot of people)
Sarah did my pedicure and she didn't rush nor did she half do her job. She always made sure I was comfortable. Not that mindless asking that some techs can do, but she asked me and actually listened so that if something was wrong, she could correct it.
Not once did I need to tell her how to 'clean up' the excess paint or remind her of the hot stones (some shops try to skip the steps but still charge the full price). I will be personally requesting Sarah.
I also got a full set done. Lilly was the tech that serviced me and just like Sarah she was thorough and attentive. I admittedly can be a tad indecisive when it comes to picking colors or should I say I know what I want so I take a while until I find the closest color available. Lilly not one time seemed to be impatient nor did she question my choice of color. Trust me, it happens a lot! I have had techs who felt that a color would not compliment my complexion! She did my nails to my liking without me having to walk her through it!! *Thank you God!* My nails are the length I asked for (she took her time with one nail until we got it right) They aren't thick nor are they too thin.
Ok, I have spilled all my appreciation about this place, so I hope my review can help someone who is looking for a great nail shop. I pray they stay consistent with this type of service!
Oh yea, they do accept CC/Debit card, but if you plan to leave a tip, take cash for that! :) read more
