WHY I WENT HERE: - decided to treat myself to an early birthday shellac manicure and basic pedicure - since I was visiting my mom in Oakley for the weekend I narrowed it down to two salons - I chose this one because it was more on the way vs. out of the way to my mom's coming from work in San Mateo THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in an established part of Oakley off Empire Ave and Main St THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - I felt the pics of the interior on Yelp didn't fully match the actual salon when I visited there in person - yes it was seemingly clean, but not as bright as I thought it would be - it felt like a full house as majority of the pedicure chairs were taken up by clients and employees working on them CUSTOMER SERVICE/EXPERIENCE: - I simply did a walk-in for a shellac manicure and basic pedicure and was taken in right away - I was going more for a nude pink, but the nail tech switched the color for me instead to make it "pop" more, so I went with it (I typically go for a matching manicure and pedicure) but in the end, I wasn't pleased with the color; I wanted more nude and less Barbie - growing up in San Jose I'm used to seeing Vietnamese nail techs so seeing them here in Oakley was no surprise - however, as I've gotten older I'm steered more to the ambiance (relaxing) of certain nail salons vs. the "in and out" rush of other nail salons - this nail salon definitely felt very "in and out" rush - the outcome of my nails was fine, just not personable customer service - for a shellac manicure and basic pedicure my total came out to $55.00 NOTE: - they DO take card but do NOT allow tip on card read more

So i tried coming here a few times. Every single time - they make you feel less. God forbid you request them to do a better job with cuticles, filing a certain way, or other things. it's always going to be "it's your nail like that, i can't do different". I am not even being a difficult client. I just want my nails to look like not my 5y.o. niece did them. Today, decided to come here again and wanted white color manicure. The man that's there kept telling me my nail was "see through" and white color wouldn't look good on me. I have regular nails. I was so upset i just told him to not bother about the color and just do clear. He is rude and makes you feel like it's your fault he can't get it done. The ladies here are better, and at least try. I requested white and she found it and used it. The guy should not even touch nails. And he lied they didn't have other white shades. He has no idea what he's doing. Or he just knows he can't work with white colors, so he lies they don't have them. I should've got up and left, but i was short on time and didn't want to spend time driving to another place. And i am writing this review after a few times of getting horrible service here, not just today. Today, i just realized i don't want to come to such places where they are talking about you and making fun of you in Vietnamese. It's incredibly rude and not professional. I don't know ant to pay money to get horrible service, feel judged and laughed at I am done with this place. If I could give zero stars, I would. Stay far away. Everything was fine while I was there. It was an average pedicure. The lady trimmed the side walls on both of my big toes, which I thought was odd. I don't have ingrown nails or any pain. Didn't hurt at the time so I didn't question it, as I assumed she was the professional and knew what she was doing. That night the situation shifted for the worse! Now my toe is so inflamed, and I have yellow/green puss coming out. The owner of this establishment is 100% rude and mean. Completely unaware of how customers should be treated. He would not honor a gift certificate given to me because he said it was too old. Yet there was no expiration printed on the gift certificate. He said there was a 6 month expiration. This gift certificate was given to me and dated in February. It is now June which is not even 6 months. He refused to honor it while shoving it back in my hand. Not only was he very loud and verbally rude towards me regarding it, he did this in front of several customers. Do not give this establishment your business!! I've been a 4G customer for a little over a year and can say with 100% certainty that I've never been disappointed once with the service or quality of work provided. They have always been extremely accommodating and very nice to me. I always leave the shop extremely satisfied and receive compliments from strangers often. I don't have a specific person I go to, they all do amazing work. Although I appreciate how quick and detail oriented Rocky is. My first set was Valentine design and the photo is of the one I showed her, (I forgot to save a pic of mine! ) they were ON POINT! Not only have I had the best experience of amazing looking nails... I've gone here 3x, each time there's been something wrong. I shouldn't have returned but my normal place, that I love, was booked. I figured I'd give them one more try since this time I just wanted to soak off my dip and do a gel mani & pedi- simple. I thought everything was fine, didn't think to give it a hard look before I left (dumb mistake). Idk what she did but the top coat was obviously put on very uneven. Looks like there's water drops on top? Maybe the top coat didn't cure enough before she put cuticle oil on? I don't have time to go back and have it fixed- nor should I have too. Great gel nail design by Sarah. I'll go back if I can have her do the whole service. The pedicure was just ok because of the paint job and a little soft on the massage. I also had to ask the lady to scrub my heels again because she hardly touched them. I did pay for the upgraded pedicure. Some feedback for the store manager, no one is speaking English and laughing. I had enough, I been coming here for a while to let Rocky do my nails, because he does good work. But I'm tired of his rude attitude. He never smiles or says nothing other than what color and style I want, so he was doing my nails yesterday I really noticed how he just grabbed each hand kind of rude. Then I asked him do you ever smile then he gave me a quick fake smile. Then went back to looking mean. After he finished he didn't open his mouth to say go to the wash bowl he jester with his hands and when i came back he said $60 dollars. he charge to much for his rude ass service. When you pay for gel there shouldn't be any bumps. I didn't have time to get them to take it all off and fix it. I had them fix one nail and it is still messed up. Don't go there! At least with the lady I had she really did a terrible job and she charged me $45 I should of just got a full set when I just got a regular manicure! Prior to arriving I had arclic on my real nails and they were pretty long! When I arrived I asked them i wanted a to remove the arclic and keep the length of my real nails because of course every nail salon removes arclic right! Well long story short they started to rip off the arclic with a fake nail what salon does that! It started to hurt me and my pinky nail ripped off completely so I told her please don't do that anymore because it hurts me! So she got nail glue and glued my nail back together. I gave 3 stars because the lady doing my feet and eyebrows was super nice. She, however, did not do a good job on my eyebrows and can tell she was really trying but they just did not turn out good at all. Second time here was a fail. The tech that was doing my manicure cut my cuticles to where she caused me pain and I flinched. I noticed she didn't clean underneath my nails, yet was proceeding with the gel process of my manicure. Brought this to her attention, she caught an attitude about her cleaning them at the end...you can't clean under the nail at the end. By adding the gel you're locking the dirt under the nail. Long story short she attempted to clean under my nails at the end but it was a piss poor job. My previous experience was better, but was a different tech. I won't be going back. I'm not spending my hard earned money on a 1/2 @$$ job + attitude. The pedicure tech wasn't too bad, the leg massage was lacking tho. Update, I love Sarah she does a great job with Pedicures but the nail tech who has now done my nails twice is really disappointing. The first time she did my nails they broke within a week... She re did them and almost charged me the price of a full set instead of a fill I got my fill on Thursday (just a few days ago) 1 nail broke on Friday 2 more nails broke Saturday and another one broke on Tuesday. I'm not a reckless person, nor do I work in a field that requires me to be rough. My nails broke while doing simple things like texting or washing my hands. 4G is too expensive for things like this to happen. I cannot afford to repay you for things that should not be happening. I called 3 hours in advance to schedule an appointment for 3 people (2 gel manicures, 1 pedicure and a child's nail color) When I arrived I stated we had appointments for 4:30pm. I was asked 4 times what services did we wanted. I stated I called and spoke to her on the phone and described the services. It took about 5 minutes before I was seated (communicating to one another in their language) while the other 2 were standing around. My (2) daughters and I have been coming here for the last 2 years and I can honestly say that we've never had a bad experience. We have been there when they're busy and when they're steady slow & our services have always remained 5 star quality! We've never felt like our services were rushed. That's who my oldest daughter uses and neither of them ever disappoint! She's into the long nails with fancy designs and colors. First time and last time that I get a full set here I asked for the length to be long and they are short, Anh was the one who did them they are bulky and miss shaped some are shorter then others I got gel color over acrylic and they look like they were painted by a child some nails are even missing color on the side was not happy at all with the out come specially being $45 which I'm not complaining about the price because I normally pay over $60 but I was in the area and decided to give it a try this place is definitely a no for me and I will not be recommending to anyone either read more
