I booked a Brazilian, and the first thing she asked was, "When's the last time you shaved?" From the start, I expressed discomfort, and she followed that by asking if it was because my period was coming soon, which felt inappropriate. Throughout the service, I felt she was touching areas incorrectly compared to other specialists I've had in the past. When the service was finished, there was still visible hair, and she acted as if she didn't notice it. When I pointed it out, she asked if I wanted to lie back down and said she didn't want to hurt me, which I declined. During the B-strip portion, she told me to roll toward the wall and open a butt cheek. I was taken aback by this and expressed my discomfort. At one point, she also burned me with hot wax and did not respond with any sense of urgency. Overall, the experience was uncomfortable and disappointing, especially given how positive my past visits have been at this location. While the specialist was polite, it was clear she was distracted. The one star is for the very professional and kind women at the front desk.

She was really patient while working with me on the mapping especially since I sent over a lot of inspo pics, and as a first-timer, I wasn't sure how to describe what I wanted. I came all the way from Dublin to Antioch because she's one of the few lash artists in the east bay that do anime lashes, and her portfolio really solidified my choice because I loved the natural style it showcased where her lashes would enhance your eyes while adding a little extra twinkle. Her studio has a really calming and relaxing vibe, and she is so, so sweet and professional. She also offered snacks and water before getting started! During the process, Jenni had a really gentle hand and explained everything before doing it, which is really nice because since your eyes are closed the whole time, you wouldn't be startled when she'd move onto the next step. I almost fell asleep at one point because I was so comfortable! We did a reveal at the end and my jaw was on the floor with the results -- each lash was styled to perfection, and it literally looked like I had a filter on my eyes! One reservation was for someone who is on Yelp Elite, and the other person is heading back to the East Coast on Jan 2nd. Also, the refund of the two $25 deposits would take 5-7 business days. I ended up disputing the charges with my credit card company and got the money back immediately. Moral of the story is eventhough you schedule your appointment window, pay for the deposits and put in requests to take time off from work, you're still at the mercy of the business owner and when she decides to work.
