The food was very good here and the service was excellent. Our food took a very long time for some reason with no mention from the waiter. It was not an issue at the end of the day, but other tables came after us and ate before we got our food. We didn't order anything complicated, so shouldn't have been that long. Would still definitely recommend trying it out though. read more

A great little restaurant in the "historic area". The white table cloths are a nice touch to this casual dining experience. Devon took good care of us and was very attentive. The food was wonderful!! Cajun Spring Rolls were light and airy and had just enough to wet the taste buds. Then in for the kill with a bowl of some of the BEST Gumbo we have had in many years. Cudos to the chief!! Love this place! It's part restaurant, part bar - Micki's on Main and 440. The bartenders have some wonderful signature cocktails. One of my favorites is the Sangria. I've tried several items on the restaurant menu and all have been yummy and expertly prepared. I usually end up here almost every Tuesday as they have burger night. For $6.95 you get a burger and 1 beer. The burger is wonderful! read more

We went here for some beers after a visit to the National Corvette Museum. What a wonderful find. Great location on the square in old downtown Bowling Green. The square is nice in an of itself. I enjoyed an after dinner cigar in the beautiful park. Pros: Very inexpensive beers and drinks during happy hour. The bar, Micki's, is connected to the restaurant. Mickie's has a fun, fairly loud atmosphere, while the restaurant is quiet, romantic up-scale dining. The bar tenders, all 4 of them seemed to be having fun, enjoying themselves and their customers. They throw bottles of liquor around to each other which is kind of fun to watch. Appetizer, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Stuffed with a Goat and Blue Cheese Herb Blend. Drizzled with Balsamic Reduction $10.95 were awesome. The other customers at the bar are friendly. They specialize in Cajun, seafood and steaks. My wife and I had a thoroughly wonderful evening. Cons: We did not enjoy the spinach artichoke dip. The dip was good, but the chips were overcooked, broken into tiny pieces and way not enough to finish the dip. We asked for more chips, unbroken, and were told it would be an up-charge. Well of course, the manager took care of that. The chips were still overcooked though. This was our only complaint. Went here for a business dinner. The building is amazing. They have made good use of the space and the historic fixtures/decor is well done. We were a party of 6 and ordered various steaks and the duck. Nothing but rave reviews for the main courses along with the various salads and sides. We were there for business but I think the ambiance leans to be a more intimate place or with close friends. Nothing wrong with having a business meeting but I kept thinking through the whole dinner, "I really need to bring the wife here". read more

I had the Jambolaya and my wife had the halibut. Both dinners were absolutely wonderful and full of taste. We had the cheesecake for dessert which was obviously made in house. My wife had the wine, a California Cab, recommended by the bartender which was exactly what she wanted. I had the White Squirrel Kolsch which was brewed in Bowling Green, also a very wonderful Beer. The owner was in the restaurant and socializing with the customers. He is a very interesting person who takes passion in what he does. read more

This review is for micki's. Went for their Tuesday night burger special. Was told that I could not get my burger cooked well done (they come Med/well) unless I paid full price for it. No changes could be made to the burgers since they were on special. So I paid $4 more just for them to leave my burger on the grill a few more min. Also they wouldn't even keep the onion that my daughter didn't want on her burger, again no changes allowed. The burger & fries were good, service was a little slow. The whole ordeal with not being able to get my burger cooked the way I like in a restaurant like this was really disappointing. read more

I was especially pleased with my seafood pasta dish - two of us ordered it and the plates were empty. My girlfriend at the time and I decided to come in to celebrate a date night. I looked online and called to make a reservation...although it was only an hour's notice. Luckily, the restaurant was able to accommodate this request. I got the 10 oz filet mignon, cooked medium, and it melted in my mouth. It was on par with a Ruth chris steak, minus the hot plate. The food is generally good bur fine dining requires more than decent food. My wife had the shrimp & grits, our companion had the salmon & i ordered the pork chop. Both my wife and our friend enjoyed their food, the pork chop was rare to the point of being bloody, and largely inedible. Biggest issue was the incredibly high noise level that made dinner conversation impossible. And that was only with a half full restaurant. Wear ear plugs if you must go. read more

When we were seated our server asked if we were celebrating anything. We were on a trip for our first anniversary. They service was quick and friendly. The stuffed dates wrapped in bacon were perfect. My wife's steak was cooked a little too well done. She had meant to say medium rare, but said medium. Our server , quickly returned her steak for another. So afterward the manager came by and apologized. It wasn't five minutes before he personally brought out her new dish and waited until she was happy with it. At the end of the meal, we were brought a large slice of cheese cake whit Happy 1st Anniversary written with raspberry sauce on the plate. Great place to eat and meet up with friends. Like it even more since it went smoke free about a year or so ago. (Don't know if others in the community thought so. I admire the owners for taking the place smoke free though. Way to go!) Great owners and staff. The Veal Prudhomme is absolutely awesome. Try ordering it, even if it's not on the menu. I really like this place. The waiter was very nice. The food was excellent. We had a ribeye, and the duck with mashed garlic potatoes. The only complaint, is that I ordered a ribeye, and I only got a ribeye. Although, It was delicious, and perfectly cooked. The duck was amazing (this was my first bite of duck). The mashed potatoes were delicious. Plenty of garlic was had by all. I will definitely be going back as soon as I come into another hundred dollars. read more

Had an exceptional steak, and I am not easily impressed. Pleasant, relaxed service. Dining room was not crowded, which was a good thing. Not cheap, but a good value. Well, I was invited to a conference at 7:00 pm at the restaurant. First of all, we had to park on the other side of the square. I had to be dropped off as I can't walk that far. Then we went inside, for the first time, in case I didn't mention that. The wait between the conferences were overlapping, so we waited in the front area. The lady that seats you mentioned that the gathering was going to be upstairs. Well, I looked up at the ceiling and knew in my mind that there was going to be a lot of steps. We got called and I winded between the tables and got to the stairwell. A lot of steps didn't even begin to describe it. No elevator? Are you kidding me? After we left without going to our conference, I thought to myself, this restaurant isn't set up for handicapped people. There's several step ups to get in the restaurant, the doorway going into the restaurant isn't really set up for a wheelchair, and no elevator. I had heard such great things about this restaurant and I was so disappointed. I thought all public gathering places had to be able to accommodate handicapped people. I will say the two stars was for the restaurant itself. Not the food or the service. This place should be made available for all walks of life. read more

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. My wife and I dined here on New Year's Eve 2015 and thankfully we had a reservation because it filled up quickly. I had the ribeye med-rare with lobster mac and cheese my wife had the med-rare filet with champagne sauce and garlic potatoes. We also had the bbq shrimp and grits appetizer and for dessert the chocolate tort and creme brulee. All items (including the excellent manhattans and irish coffees) were amazing. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the dining atmosphere was great, it was very good and we are glad we went. It's not cheap but that's because it's an upscale place with quality ingredients and dishes. read more

Who would have thought that there would be a Chef like Daniel Gonzales who had a vision with an exceptional creativity and palate -- crafted a menu of amazing provisions ....where food is presented wonderfully flavored, cooked with skill and excites every taste bud you have -- the food is arguably the best in all of Kentucky..... and beyond! Modestly priced-- to me underpriced. The BBQ Shrimp appetizer is misleading on the menu.... it is better to just order it and taste it. Savory and served over perfect cheese jalapeño grits....... heaven. It was recommended to try the Filet Medallions au poivre with the requisite cognac creme sauce..... the filet was seared to perfection while a perfect inner temperature of med rare was achieved. The technical skill, freshness of products, and layers of flavor in each and every dish abound. So the foodie that I am was ..... speechless. We extended our stay in B G to come back again tonight to experience Fresh Pomfret that Chef Daniel has coming in today. I have no earthly clue how it will be prepared-- but-- i know it will be amazing. The wine list had a favorite of mine.... Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel...... Bogle is the most hidden gem of California wineries. Old World wine production techniques at an affordable price. The Bogle Family works the vineyard and presents world class wines. The Chef had the brilliance to include one of theirs-- and it deserves to be tried if you havent! Job well done 440 Main and I wish you continued success! What a lucky find! We had to be in Bowling Green for business. With COVID, take out was our best option and the menu at 440 Main sounded interesting. We shared a lovely fresh salad and both got Jambalaya. It was the best jambalaya we've ever had including New Orleans and one of my all time favorite dinners. We ate here on the end of a 7 day cross country road trip. Even tough thwy were busy, they reserved a table for my group of 5. A few of us ordered specialty cocktails from the bar and each one was unique and tasty. The food was great. I had the cobia special (cherry chai sauce). It was excellent. My girlfriend stole my risotto and had gator bites. I don't eat gator, but she and the rest of the table said it was incredibly tender and tasty. Everyone liked their food a lot. Danny, the co-owner and chef, went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back next time I pass through Bowling Green. My first time eating here, I'm sure it will be my last. I ordered the 10oz Filet with the garlic mashed potatoes. I believe the only spice on the steak was black pepper. It was very charred on the outside and overcook. The potatoes seemed to be a day old at least. Very dry and stiff. However, the waitress was nice and attentive. read more
