Waterhorse Irish Pub - Cozy winter irish pub vibes!

Went on a Saturday night with music for the first time. Delicious food and service was great! I…read moregot the boiled dinner which was your standard corned beef and cabbage; others got the taste of Ireland which was a flight of sorts of 3 entrees, chicken tenders, and the last was the Caribbean rice bowl with fish. We had desserts too. Overall a fun dinner out in a nice atmosphere!

We came here with good expectations and although overall it was a good visit, some crucial factors…read morewere below standard. The place is immaculate, clean, and antiseptic. The tables are superbly clean. The bathrooms are scrupulously spotless. The bar is perfectly curated and organized. A health inspector here would be sorely disappointed. Cleanest venue I've seen in a long time. The service lacked, however. Right after being ushered to our table with a beautiful outside view, the young waitress started yapping interminably on personal issues with a couple she obviously knew two tables away. We were forgotten. Finally after a good 15 minutes, one of us went to the bar to get menus. The bar waitress came out and bought us menus and gave the young lady a look.... Then the taps were out so in an Irish pub, no slow-poured Guinness. I did get it in the bottle and then had to send the waitress to get a cold glass. Lunch came. Delicious Chicken Moher and my other half a delicious Club Sandwich. Yum The lunch was very good. I would have given five stars. But the initial reception with a lackadaisical waitress tells me that although the pub may be outstanding, they need some better training for their wait staff.

Axe & Ale was super fun. We were in the area for a concert and it had good ratings and was nearby…read moreso we went to check it out. We only went for dinner and drinks but they also have axe throwing! There is a private parking lot. It's in a plaza type place. There is a ton of seating inside - bar, tables, booths. We ended up sitting at the bar and got to sit right away. The bartender who waited on us was great. Very chatty and social and made sure we had everything we needed. My boyfriend drank beers on tap and I had my classic Tito's and pineapple. It was only $10 for my liquor drink which was a great price for the size. It was made very well. All the food we had was fantastic. It took a little while to come out but was so worth the wait. I got a Cesar salad and truffle Parmesan fries. My boyfriend got the spicy pepperoni pizza which was delicious. It had pepperoni, red pepper flakes, hot honey, and ricotta. Mouthwatering. My Cesar salad was perfect and the fries were to die for. I love a good truffle parm combo. Everything about our experience was positive except for the bartender constantly talking to her friends who came to sit at the bar which caused our level of service to decrease, which is the only reason I took away a star. She seemed frazzled and I did have to repeat my orders a few times. Otherwise, it was a great night of food and drinks. The bathrooms are not gender neutral but are handicap accessible, as is the restaurant. I would definitely come back.

The poutine is weird and doesn't look right. Too wet. I feel like it needs to be a thicker sauce…read more The chunks of meat were insanely huge. I had simply asked for the cheese and sauce to be put on the noodles only instead of on the chicken because I don't want my chicken to be soggy. And they Didn't put any cheese and sauce on my plate at all! It's literally chicken Parmesan why wouldn't they put Parmesan on my food? One good thing was The chicken was crunchy. Couldn't even eat many of my noodles. There wasn't enough sauce.

Important update edit: we got their "puppy ice cream" for our dog and he has been having explosive…read morediarrhea for 3 days. This has never happened to him before. They have hurt my dog. The bad : Service is terrible and nonexistent, you have to order at the bar and pick up your own food. Of course, they ask for a 25% tip anyway. They upsold a beer right before closing, and then told us we have clear off. With the full beer they just happily to sold us. Also, food prices are absolutely disgusting. See the photo with the menu - $13 for a pretzel. Just absolute cash grabbing nonsense. The good: the outdoor space is quite nice. Large lawn, lots of options between picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Some little trails in a wooded area (for disc golf, but still little paths to walk). The beer is good, at least the farmhouse and Scottish ales.

Love the place. Ample, huge barn style building with awesome beers, a huge Biergarten for summer…read moreevenings, and a truly welcoming vibe. And they also have live music every so often. We came here after attending the massive Gunstock Ski sale. We now have an après ski place coming back home from skiing at Gunstock. Really awesome ambiance and even better service. Just superb service with knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders who explained the brews and the intricate flavors. We tried both their IPAs, the Palmer's Towm IPA and their Lake Cruiser. Both superb. Then a Pumpkin ale that was awesome and a Sour that made us pucker (for the good). Then we thought about food.... Their flat bread pizza, pepperoni and hot honey, is the only thing that beats the Ragged Mountain flatbreads.... And then we had their Bavarian Pretzels which were a wonderful compliment... Overall a superb late afternoon.
