Expired soda every time we attend a party at Russo's on the Bay…read more The Manager was made aware a few different times and her response was that she does not control the ordering. Numerous people complained on this particular event and they offered fountain soda instead, which was also horrible. Its a shame that Russo's on the Bay serves expired drinks, is aware that they are expired and still chooses to serve it to their guests. We will start spreading the word so that people are aware and can check the date before drinking the 1 liter soda.

Many of our 55 guests remarked on the venue, and how stylish it was. We began the evening with cocktails and a jazz trio on The Roof, and then moved into the air conditioning in The House for dinner and dancing with an 11 piece band. Our guests continued to use The Roof when they needed a break from the band. The food was also excellent. Many of our guests remarked on its quality, including some who had their own catering businesses. We found Bridget Ann and Kaelan very easy to work with, and there were no last minute surprises. The staff was friendly and competent. All of our needs were anticipated, the costs were as advertised, and the evening went off without a hitch. My only beef about the whole experience was that they used Stash tea bags for the afternoon tea. I mean anyone could buy those tea from the supermarkets. If you go to a place designated for afternoon tea, you would expect at least some loose leaf teas allowing the customers to smell, appreciate, and enjoy all the different tea flavors. If they had loose leaf tea, it would elevate the whole experience ten fold. Also, they had some sort of punch on the side, with no explanation and the punch pitcher did not work so guests couldn't really enjoy it until the very end. The house can host two parties, one on the second floor and the other one on the main floor. The owners live in the same building. He helped us work through the last-minute changes and was always focused on finding a solution. We originally chose Whitby Castle because having an outdoor ceremony on the grounds was part of our dream. Unfortunately, due to an intense heatwave, we moved the ceremony indoors at the last minute. I was nervous that it would not have the same feeling, but the space felt elegant, intimate, and beautiful, and our photographs still captured everything we loved. There were a few hiccups throughout the day as well, but the venue including Ralph and Rosa (bridal attendant) remained accommodating and worked well with every one of our vendors to keep things moving. They took care of us that day in moments where no one else was paying attention, and we are eternally thankful to them for that.
