Our social service agency has been gracing this establishment for over a decade--I'm talking so many events, I've lost count. But last night? LAST. NIGHT. Hit different. Why? One word: Sophia (she spelled it differently. Safiya I believe). When I tell you this young lady understood the assignment, I mean she aced the exam, got extra credit, and was probably the teacher's pet too. Our population consists of individuals with intellectual disabilities, meaning they require a different level of attentiveness, care, and patience. And let's be real--not everyone is up for the task. But Sophia? She stepped up like a queen claiming her throne--smiling, engaging, and treating everyone at our table like an individual. No rushed "What do you want?" energy. No exasperated sighs. Just genuine hospitality. She took drink orders like she was serving at the Ritz and brought back each one with grace and poise (because let's be honest, some servers bring your drinks back like they're mad at you). From start to finish, she delivered service smoother than a luxury car ride--and baby, that cappuccino she made? Life-changing. Now, let's talk about Russo's itself. Because if you think this is just a banquet hall, think again. First of all, shoutout to the staff who immediately let us know about the different bathroom options. Inclusivity? We love to see it. The Saint Patrick's Day celebration was giving everything it was supposed to give--hats, funny glasses, the whole festive vibe. And then--THE FOOD. If you don't get the penne a la vodka, are you okay?! This dish is a crowd favorite for a reason, and last night, we went back for seconds, thirds, and if I had no shame, maybe even fourths. We opted for a buffet-style meal, and let me tell you--bless whoever made that decision. Unlimited access to penne a la vodka should be a human right. Also, the calamari? Chefs kiss. Didn't have it this time, but I've had it before, and it slaps every time. And let's not forget the valet service. Some places act brand new when they see an accessible vehicle, but not Russo's. I came here for Father's Day. It is such a beautiful location and amazing decorations. The buffet was outstanding and had a nice variety of different style with food. The music and DJ there was great and it was fun to dance with the dance floor. This is my second visit to Russo's and I must say that it is a wonderful venue for anything. While I still had to take the Belt Parkway, (ugh) it's very easy to get to. The Valet Parking makes it very easy especially since I don't know where you would put all the cars of the people who come to these large events. I arrived very early and had the opportunity to watch the setup of the room and the food. It's amazing how everything flows so well. Many tables of attendees and a large check-in table outside the room. It all moved so well as the people came in. They had all the food ready to go for lunch so people could get started and hopefully finish before the speakers. Everything looked so good, I went with the sausage and peppers and Rigatoni a la Vodka. It was delicious!!! Hot tasty and fresh... The sausages were not greasy at all. There was also plenty of fruit and cheese available. Something for everyone. They served a large quantity of Kosher Meals and they were all brought out quickly to the correct people. A very efficient staff. All the food was in the outside room with plenty of windows and light. A delightful experience. I am definitely looking forward to my next event here. My friend was doing his daughters wedding somewhere else, and I highly told him to my experiences at Russes on the bay with all my three kids christenings about the food the service I got everything in the kitchen sink for my kids christenings I was embarrassed that my friend did purchase everything I mean everything from the cigar room and full vietnese The Vietnamese hour was such a disgrace. I was shocked to see what nonsense of cakes they gave horrible stale I don't know if they're cutting back, but I do remember they used to do all baking on premises , you could've went to Dunkin' Donuts across the street and enjoyed the pastry over what they served . I'm sorry to say that, but otherwise cocktail hour sit down dinner was outrageous But the Vietnamese serving was disgusting. Shame on them. But it's OK even if I'm invited to go back to Russo's. Awesome venue! I attended a longtime friends wedding here and it was wonderful. As soon as I walked up, I was greeted by an employee and directed where to go. I grabbed a quick drink and that bartender was very friendly. All the staffers here were excellent and went above and beyond. The venue itself looked great and had some pretty good views once your inside. The food menu was much more extensive than I've ever seen-- typically for dinner you have about four options, I believe they had over ten. Staff constantly came over during cocktail hour and dinner to take plates and refill your drink without you even requesting it. Overall, the wedding was beautiful, the venue was also. Huge Facility, perfectly laid out for pre-event cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with food stations lined up along the canal inside a very elegant space. Haven't been to this catering hall in about it 25, maybe more years. I remember it being nice back then and am happy to report that it still is. I attended an event and really loved the room where they held the cocktail hour - modern and bright, right along the canal, and the food was fantastic with lots of options. The staff was very accommodating and aimed to please. I'd consider hosting an event here one day. Glad I go to experience it again after all these years. The valet experience was seamless and again great service. Banquet food usually isn't the greatest since it's mass produced to meet large demands. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was quite tasty. I finished all of it I hear this place is pretty pricey and popular to book. Based on the experience I had, I can see why. I would book a special event here. You get the high quality that you pay for. If it's within your budget to book an upscale event you have planned, I recommend you consider booking here. On Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023 I went to Russo's On The Bay invited by Thrivent Financial Insurance Company for their Brooklyn and Queens customers. Thrivent paid the entire bill plus tips for cocktails, appetizers, dinner, dessert and coffee/tea. Every food I ate was so tasty and delicious. The wait staff was excellent too; watchful but not obtrusive. My table's server was Sandra, and she was very attentive and friendly. I came by myself and sat with 4 ladies who were also Thrivent insurance policy holders. Ambiance: Went to this place for a bridal shower and again for a girls' night. Fabulous venue for a larger party, whether family or friends. It's also very nice for that old school dinner for two -- I can imagine it's been a popular spot for proposals because of its traditional vibe. Not ideal for girls night since it's not the sort of spot that allows for mingling with others. Staff: The team was REALLY nice and accommodating. We had full service for our party of 24 (the bridal shower); the team was amazing and made sure everything went perfectly. For the girls night, we were a smaller group and invited to sit at the bar; the bartender was very kind and did his best given the type of venue. Food and Bev: On both visits the food was amazing. We had a pre-arranged prix fixe dinner menu for the larger event. Some had the meat option. I had the fish option, and there was a third vegan option that one or two of the guests had. Everyone was really happy. The waiter suggested a few favorite beverages and one or two wines to accompany our meals, which was nice. Highly recommending. For the smaller girls night we shared appetizers and enjoyed the bartender's suggestions for drinks. The place is very easy to find. Russo's remains one of the best wedding venues around. I hadn't been here in years and was so glad to see the staff was still so friendly and the venue was beautiful. The garden was a beautiful setup for the ceremony with only a few planes taking off from Kennedy flying overhead. The elevator for the bride and groom to take to the reception room was great. Rooms are huge. Bathrooms are clean. I love that you can take your food to-go here. We ate so much at cocktail hour that we ended up taking food home from dinner and the venetian hour. Finally got the chance to get in after dropping off my children here multiple times years ago for parties they have attended. The place is deceiving, it looks small outside but it is roomy inside. It looks like a square building but it has a beautiful bay view in the back. Parking space is limited and the best bet is to go for a valet parking. Line maybe long but with lots of valet attendants visible, it is moving fast than you may think. My husband's work company rented out the whole second floor for its Holiday Party. The center of the floor has beautiful Holiday decoration that is instagramable. The place itself is so gorgeous. Everyone definitely feels its astonishing ambiance. Going to the left side of the floor is the huge and beautifully decorated lounge area leading to it's big dining hall where delicious foods were served with the most cordial wait staff I have met. A huge bar and two beer stations were seen and the bar tenders were pleasantly helping the guests. Going to the right side of the floor from the center is the desert, snacks and coffee station leading to the huge dance floor room. There is a bar at the far end with sitting tables and chairs overlooking a beautiful bay view for those doesn't feel like dancing. A well recommended place for any special occasions. The bacon taste really good. We had coffee and juices. The coffee was just how I liked it. The place is really nice. They have valet parking and the gentleman that take the cars are very nice. I recently attended my cousins wedding here and it was gorgeous. Every room is elegant and fancy giving you that regal feeling. If you're looking for a super extra entrance to the party this place has it! You come in through a glass elevator in the middle of the dance floor with lights and fog machines. The cocktail hour had so much food! A raw bar, charcuterie stand, carving station, pasta station, and much more. The suckling pig was my favorite. When we went into the ballroom we started with dinner. The grilled shrimp appetizer was not my cup of tea. The sauce that shrimp was predipped in was too spicy for me, I wish it was on the side. Then the piece of bread with tomato sauce on it was way too overpowering. The lemon sorbet palette cleanser was great, I just wish there was more of it. I got the stuffed shrimp for the entree. The shrimp was seasoned well, the vegetables had a bit of a crunch but were still tender, the potatoes were just okay. I think they could have cooked them a little longer because they were a bit hard. Then the Venetian hour was like a kid in a candy store. Chocolate fountains, s'mores station, popcorn machine, cotton candy machine, ice cream station, crepes station, candy table, and so much more. I went here for a conference of about 300 school professionals. Breakfast (bagels, mini muffins, mini danishes) started out ok - There were toasters for the bagels, plus butter, regular and vegetable cream cheese (delicious). However, they ran out of food within 15 min of the events start. About 50 people didn't get anything and nothing was done about it. Some people went across the street to the bagel shop to get something. The second floor room was hella cold and people would leave to warm up, come back and do it all over again. Some people were using the tablecloths to warm their laps. Someone advocated for the ac to get turned down, but that only lasted a few minutes. The food was distracting. Lunch. Ugh. Dressed salad (good), penne (undercooked) with vodka sauce (good), eggplant rollatini (slimy), some tangy yellow chicken (nope), salmon (tasted like it wasn't washed properly). Coworkers said the sausage and peppers were good. There was enough lunch for everyone because the servings were small (hence why they offered tiny pieces of everything). I wished I'd gone to the bagel shop and gotten a sandwich instead. Bathrooms were large and fairly clean. The attendant was nice and helpful. Our group was 90% women so I know she was working hard! Some people sat in the bathrooms lounge area (ew) to get away from the cold As an event space, i appreciated the valet parking and short bathroom lines but that's about it. I will advocate for using alternate spaces for future conferences. read more

From the outside this place is huge and seems to be nearly a city block long with sports cars lining the entrance and valets who do a good job hiding the Honda's and Toyota's. Inside its a marble and glass paradise which I'd say looks elegant and not super gaudy. I've been here at least 5 times and the food is just as amazing with each visit. It's more than just a boring 3 course meal. At the parties Ive been to here its usually tons of appetizers and drinks in a cocktail hour setting followed by a dinner in the main room. What puts the icing on the cake literally is their deserts during their Venetian hour. No matter what part of the meal there's always tons of selections and the food is amazing.
