    The decor that's included minus the center pieces

    We had a baby shower here January 2025. Ill start by saying the venue looks really nice with their basic decorations. Of course I added a few extra, however, it was very nice. Pros; They offer all services in one place, i.e. DJ, food, welcome screen, decor( chair covers, table clothes, napkins, and runners. The staff appear friendly when booking. The bathrooms are clean You have your personal space to get dressed They offer a space for guest to put their coats You dont clean up much after your event Cons: First ill give the series of events then a list. Upon viewing the venue and booking, you are informed of what they offer. They provide you with the contact that states, you have coat check, they only use in house vendors, if an outside vendor is used they need liability insurance, you are provided with a music sheet to provide your favorite and not so much song list, a food list to choose your 3 meats, 1 pasta, and 1 side, also included is the salad bar, you are given 1.5 hours prior to your event to set up. I'll say that the set up time was enough, the venue has a schedule they work by any it helps keep you on track with your 4 hours. We ordered - jerk chicken, fried chicken and BBQ beef ribs, penne ala vodka, and rice with veg. Our Dj was Chris (he was good). Cons: They did not have any HOT WATER The heat was on 100° The catering staff, rude absolutely rude to guest Food- i asked the venue do they give you all the food at the end of the night and was informed yes. 1. The rice was so hard it was inedible. We complained to the manager who tried to convince us that this is how rice taste. Keep in mind you get 2 pans of each dish! So they sawpped out the rice pan. No one ate twice and we had so much food left over. Let me state that I and my husband, plus many of oir guest did not eat. We have pictures of the food prior to the venue announcing last call for a plate. When we left the staff had packed the food up for us to leave. When I arrived home, they sent us, a hald pan of ribs, the hard rice and a whole pan of this pasta. Which is not penne alla vodka- this has some type of meat in it, this is not tomato cream sauce, and that's it. There was no other meat. I tried reaching out to the manager to discuss the dissatifaction of the staff interacting with guest, no hot water, the pasta being wrong and the trays of food missing. Also, coat check is not what you think. Its ppl hanging their own jackets. A week or so later, still no return call. Here is what I say, if you use this venue understand that it will look good, they will meet the basic needs of your event. If you care about how much money you spend on food, and want it, have someone in charge of monitoring what is packed up, ensure there is hot running water and tell your guest not to engage the staff. I will say Michelle, who works the front desk is not rude, and has a way of giving information with a bow. I added a pic of the pasta so you can see what it looks like. I have 2 stars bc I don't like the way they handled my guest, my food and not following up with my calls after the event. But they call you a lot prior to your day!!!!

    We recently attended my little cousin's sweet sixteen party here. And I must say, I really like the facilities at Charisma. Yes, it's a bit odd that the ballroom banquet is on the lower level and that the first thing you see when you come inside is a set of stairs leading downstairs. Once you get past this, you'll see that the venue is spacious, clean, and laid out nicely. You can opt for them to have your name in lights reflected on the dance floor, there's a smoke machine, bubble machine and various light options that you can request for the event. There's also a couple of screens that can run videos or photos on a loop during the event. The bar area is separate from the main ballroom which was great considering this was a sweet sixteen party. The DJ was wonderful. He provided a good selection of songs that got the guests dancing the whole time. The food was pretty good. It was served buffet style and there were plenty for all the guests. I wished they kept the food out all night instead of quickly putting it away after an hour. We had a few guests that arrived very late and came after the food was already packed away. The wait staff was nice enough to make up a plate for them when we asked. The pricing structure for the event was a bit confusing. Make sure to do your research and ask questions. Otherwise, you might get sticker shock from all the extra add-on options (linens, nicer chairs, balloon decorations, champagne toast, etc.) that can quickly inflate the overall price. We all had a great time at the party. Yes, there were some minor glitches and the event could have run smoother, but the main thing is that the guests had a good time and my little cousin thought the night was a success.

    Oh Charisma. This review was going to take me a while to write. I found them while searching for a venue to throw not just a wedding reception, but our Halloween themed wedding reception. We got a great deal on a promo they had back in January/February 2020, before COVID. After putting down the $500 deposit, and having a date in mind we were locked in, and had a contract with Charisma. We had the basic decorations, lights, DJ table settings, and buffet included with a set per person price, with 100 guests as a minimum. We added and paid extra for add ons like an extra dish and most importantly an open bar which was an extra per person cost (x100 or more guests in our case). Because of the lockdown, we were forced to decide weather to host the reception October 2020 with 50 guests capacity or reschedule. Obviously the smarter choice was to reschedule. We then rebooked for October 2021 to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary as a reception redo. Finally our day arrived, the ballroom setup looked perfect. They let us come in an hour and half early to setup our own extra party decorations and everything looked great. In comes the screw up.. As I was hosting and busy with guests and making sure things ran smoothly apparently our guests were enjoying themselves at the "open bar". Apparently the staff at the bar was charging my guests $10 for beers when in fact we paid extra for the open bar. Even though I advertised our celebration as an open bar, my guests didn't want to be classless and mention it to me or my wife. Eventually the staff at the bar informed me of their error over an hour into the party and said they gave free top shelf drinks to my guests. Okay no big deal. Right? There wasn't a lot of communication during the party between the staff and myself (who was running things while my wife enjoyed herself) so things like the cake came out later then I would have liked. Overall everything worked out and everyone had a blast. We took home a lot of the leftover food and took down all the decorations before we left. There was also miscommunication here, as I was told everything had to be removed before we left, but my wife was told we can leave the stuff and pick it up. We were all buzzed and our friends were with us so everyone helped gather everything and we took ALL our decorations when we later found out apparently it could have been left? Days later I found out from a few of my guests that came on time, that they paid for beers and drinks. Two even paid over $50 each. I was livid because all the friends that told me they paid for drinks, also informed me they never received any complimentary top shelf drinks. Either the staff never served these drinks or they served them to the wrong people. They also never went out of their way to inform all my guests that there was free beers and wines available so some didn't even drink because they thought they were being charged..even though I told everyone it was an open bar, people don't read invites but Charisma could have done a better job to inform my guests there was an open bar. Charisma completely screwed up our open bar and made me and my wife look like cheapskates on a very important day. I get it, they were a little short staffed, but we all came out of a pandemic with problems. You would think after over a year and a half of helping us arrange and plan this celebration at their establishment that they wouldn't make that bad of a screw up. I called the Manager Joseph who we had to sit down with in the past to finalize party arrangements. He informed me he knew of the open bar situation and it was rectified by giving out free drinks, he mentioned that the bartender even paid out of her tips for one of my guests drinks. FYI Joseph and charisma, that guest ordered a open bar drink at 12:02 and you guys cut him and everyone off at 12am sharp, after messing up the open bar for the first hour. That $10 she pulled out of the tip jar still came from my own pocket. The manager and I went back and forth on the phone as they felt they rectified things and I felt cheated and asked for just a partial refund like 25% on the open bar costs as a courtesy, I wanted to use that refund to help pay back some of my guests directly..the manager said he would review the footage of the party and see how many drinks were paid for and would get back in touch with us. We never heard back from Charisma and honestly we were over it. I'm still shaking my head as I write this months later after our party. I wanted and was going to give Charisma 5 stars because it was a good deal; it is a beautiful venue, I did enjoy their customer service all up to an unfortunate incident that turned the experience sour at the end. I wouldn't not recommend Charisma. I've even had a guest's relative contact us asking me for their info for a party for themselves.

    From the day I called, to the night of the event, I was treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. All my messages were promptly returned, and all my questions answered. They took care of everything--decorations, DJ, buffet, option of bar included or cash bar. The manager, Joseph, was personable & made it so easy to help with choices of decor and food options. When we arrived everything was in order & the place looked absolutely beautiful. My family was very much impressed and had an absolutely great time. The food was delicious! Anthony, the maitre-dee, was on point all night long, keeping me in line while I was distracted attending to my guests. Thank you Joseph, Anthony, Linda, Maria, and all others who helped make the event a total success, as well as having happy guests! I DEFINITELY recommend this venue!

    We found Charisma thanks to a promotional sale they had, after checking the place out we booked it in early February of 2020 to celebrate our wedding reception at the end of October. Because our party was at the end of October we were on a month to month basis with the venue but because of COVID in the end we had to post pone the party till October 2021, then making it a wedding anniversary celebration. Communication with the venue could be better, being short staffed didn't help , people returning your calls not having all the info correct made things more stressful, the right person to speak with was Joseph the manager since he is the person u make all final decisions with. we manage to get it all together & had the party in October, the set up was Lovely & food was very good. Our food choice was Italian served buffet style, we added the salad bar & pastries plus the open bar for 4 hours, including the Dj. DJ was not bad he could have been better at playing the variety we requested from our list also better at interacting with the crowd. We had an issue during our party Open bar was paid for but there was some miscommunication & guest were being charged for Beer, heard some reports of wine as well which were both supposed to be included .. needles to say this was embarrassing for us we unfortunately didn't find out the extend of it till the next day. Once we contacted Charisma the conversation between hubby & Joseph was tit for tat, unnecessary because at the end of the day this place has been around for some time & things should have been handled more professionally. The back & forth ended up they (Joseph) saying he was going to check the security footage to see exactly how much was being charged... They/ Joseph was supposed to call us back that first Tuesday after our party which would have been 11/2 & see what could be done about us getting some compensation for the mishap still to this day we never heard back! At this point we were over it ... it's not worth the aggravation of the back & forth. I was torn on the stars but settled on 3 because overall it was a nice party, venue wise, decorations & food but unnecessary that we had to deal with such a mishap.

    This venue truly goes all out for their clients. I am very happy I had the chance of coming into the venue and witnessing how beautiful this place is set up and how lovely the staff is. I can not wait to come back and enjoy another event. Absolutely beautiful, clean and delightful. Keep it up charisma! Can't wait to have my wedding here. Linda, greeted me at the front door and asked if I've ever been here before, showed me the entire venue, gave me a full tour and sat down with me and went over all of the packages they offer ( great pricing ) I didn't want to ask my relative how much she paid for her event ( I find that tacky ) so I inquired on how much it was to book an event which all depended on how many people I'm having, what package I chose and which date I booked. So pricing really does differentiate on all of your choosings. I must say, compared to other venues I've checked out - the pricing is unbeatable. I also had the chance of meeting a gentleman named Anthony who was really helpful too. Asked me if I needed water or anything as Linda stepped aside to get me a menu. They truly treat you nicely here! I absolutely recommend!!!

My partner's family is Guyanese as well. I was so thrilled to try her food that I reached out to see if she could do a sample tasting for us. I was ecstatic when she obliged. I wanted the tasting to be enough for two people. We decided to try the Chopped Cheese Empanada, Spinach & Cheese Empanada, Baked Chicken, Mild Shrimp Rasta Pasta, and Fried Whiting. We were charged $40 + tax + delivery fee. We ended up spending $49.52 which could be considered the price you pay for takeout. Nonetheless we were counting down the days until the food was delivered. Chef Adrii called to let me know that the store ran out of whiting so she suggested flounder because it had a similar texture. The packaging of our order was nice and it was adorned with flowers. I couldn't wait to try the food because everything looked and smelled good. We started off with the chopped cheese empanada which we couldn't taste the filling just the Turkey bacon. Maybe if the Turkey bacon was chopped smaller and there was more of a Bbq flavor incorporated into the ground Turkey we would've been able to taste the filling. The upside was that the empanada was crunchy which we liked. The spinach empanada was pretty tasty. The spinach was sautéed perfectly, but the empanada itself was on the oily side. We tried the baked chicken which was lackluster in taste. It was on the drier side and could've used more seasoning. We asked for mild Shrimp Rasta pasta, but it was extremely spicy. We both enjoy spicy food, but my hunny definitely has a better tolerance than I do. He even commented on how spicy it was. The shrimp was overcooked. We weren't thrilled with the fried founder. It was flaky and didn't have the same texture as fried whiting. Also I'm not a fan of citrusy flavors. The fish was too lemony for my liking. If I would've known she used lemon in her recipe I wouldn't have agreed to the fried flounder. Overall, I would have given this place a second chance under different circumstances. It's unfortunately we won't be able to.

Susanne, who was our main contact throughout the process, is tremendously organized and communicative, and Joe and his team are experts in food and hospitality. At our tasting, Joe and Susanne gave us great suggestions to tweak our menu, and welcomed our feedback. Renting table linens and coolers for our bar through them was also a breeze, removing a layer of stress from planning. Not to mention, LCI's rates for their excellent service were more than fair, and we really appreciated their price transparency on their website. On our wedding day, the food was just as good if not even better than at our tasting. Several guests approached us to give their compliments about the meal, and my family who works in hospitality was particularly impressed by the level of care paid to every detail, down to the sparkling clean silverware. One of the best moments for us was seeing the entree Joe made for our vegan guest, who was nearly moved to tears by how thoughtfully it was prepared! During cocktail hour, the passed appetizers came out at a steady pace, and I'm pretty sure the last table called was up at the buffet before my wife and I even finished our plates. We spotted plenty of guests going up for seconds, too. As for the bar, the bartender was friendly and quick, and he executed our signature drinks perfectly. On top of that, it was great to see how seamlessly the LCI team worked with our coordinator and the venue. LIC was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding this past weekend…read more Susanne and Joe were so helpful throughout the planning process, from our first initial conversation, to our tasting, to our wedding, and everything in between. We stayed in touch for months to ensure that everything went smoothly on the day of and that all details, small and large, were in place. We had hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and a buffet for our reception dinner, and everything we ate was incredible. Our guests stopped us multiple times throughout the night to compliment the food, some even saying that it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding. The coffee and homemade desserts were phenomenal and I wish I took more photos! The bar was impeccable as well, they were able to accommodate our drink requests to have a few of our favorite beers and Cold Brew Martinis as our signature drink, that our guests absolutely loved. The staff was super friendly and inviting, making our guests feel right at home. As the bride and groom, they always made sure we had a plate or drink in hand and didn't even have to think about it. Their setup and breakdown was prompt and seamless, which helped us not stress over how it all came together. We would recommend LIC for all of your event catering needs and would love to work with them again in the future, or attend another wedding where they're catering. :) Thank you again for an incredible evening!

Cornbread 26 is the company you need and Claude & Craig are the team that will bring your vision to fruition. I've worked with them for a couple of years now and they ALWAYS deliver excellence! This past week, they did it again. I organize the events at my firm and I love a theme, to my great joy, so do they. The guys always seem to nail the vibe without going overboard. Whether it's our annual "Winter Wonderland" Tree Trimming or a "picnic in the park" luncheon... they give great advice and suggestions for what would work best from their ever-changing, diverse menus. There have been times when we've come up with dishes together from adaptations of their offerings. I love how flexible they are and always willing to pivot in order to accommodate us, even if it's a last-minute change. The highlight for me whenever they arrive, is the attention to detail that's paid. No matter what crazy idea I throw at them, somehow they absorb the concept as if it were their own and produce a picture-perfect affair that people rave about long after it's over. Our guest stuffed themselves! What I loved most was their exuberant personalities and the planning process which was such a pleasure! Their service was amazing and were always willing to work with any challenge that came up even on the day of with a oven crisis from the rental company. Claude and Craig took it in stride and still had a perfect wedding day! Their staff was so great with set up and bartending as well. Thank you so much for everything!  During the pandemic, they served amazing meal kits to the hospital staff that helped my Aunt through Covid. The choices were great and they took great care in delivering the food with special notes I had wanted to send along! They are such a pleasure to work with as always!
