Came here specifically for ice on this Thanksgiving Day. Already tried Safeway and they were completely out. So I beeline in here I looked like I was in a hurry so they directed me to the restrooms upon coming through the front door lol. I headed for a bag of ice and a six pack of Budweiser bottles for hubby. When I was ready to check out a line had already grown to the back of the store. So I waited what choice did I have?! Once on line as always since I am a captive customer I grabbed a couple of packs of mentos a childhood favorite that the nuns used to carry back in my grade school days. Once I get to the cashier I asked if she took cash and grateful that she did as that was my preferred method of payment for this small transaction. However a six pack of domestic beer at $7.99 only gets them a three star rating. As is always the case with these quickie marts they tend to be more expensive due to the convenience. read more

I dislike the one star reviews and mostly so because I feel the business truly deserves the one-star and it's sad to see that a business is conducted such as to warrant the bad rating. What I'm saying is: I always think businesses should make a fair profit and be good to customers. I don't find that here... What I find is a place that not only price-gauges on gasoline but that can't be bothered to stock/fix their pumps so that a receipt prints as it should. I stopped coming here a long time ago due to this problem. I reported it to the cashier several times and kept finding the same issue. I was in a pinch a couple days back so I swung in (sucking up the outrageous price ) but do you think a receipt printed? NOPE. Went inside and the register guy - ONE register guy with a huge line - tells me, "we know there's a problem with those." Great, so the problem is longstanding, known but not fixed. Yet, the gas price is wildly inflated. And as the lady next to me turns and says, "The new Fry's on Dove Valley Road has proper pricing and those machines always print!" and I said, "yep! That's the only place I'm heading from now on." (AND, the kicker: I already knew this info but figured I'd save time here. WRONG.) read more

We needed to fill up on the way back to the hotel in Scottsdale, and we also needed to re-energize ourselves. I had a hankering for some grape soda. It is my special treat when I do something super exhausting (like a 6 mile hike in the desert) and I have earned it, calorie-wise. While I filled up on gas (at least 30 cents more expensive than anywhere else I had seen in the area, but you pay for convenience, I suppose) I sent the fella in to get my soda. Welp, they had no grape soda. So I asked instead for a cream soda. ALSO no cream soda! I was tired, and thirsty, and cranky and I had to settle for some other shitty soda. Got my new Tundra washed there. Noticed Scratches on the top of the tailgate, talked to the Mgr she agreed there is no way they could have got there from anything other then the car wash. She took my info along with pictures said she would get it to her boss. 2 weeks later I called and asked what's the status? She said "we watched the video and it looked like the scratches were there". I said I want to see the video, she replied "it's up to my boss if she wants to show them to you or not". Needless to say, I already contacted my family member attorney. It will cost them a hell of a lot more now, then if they would have been professional and done the right thing to begin with. read more

My 1st yelp review ever. I live right around the corner from this place. I dreed going there. It is HORRIBLY MANAGED. While the employees are pleasant with the customers, they do not seem very happy about their working conditions and frankly as a customer I can see the lack of support they are provided. Scheduling his Horrible. 545AM everyday they have one cashier, who has to make coffee, make pizza, and serve customers. They also seem to be the only business in Arizona that cannot keep Marlboro light cigarettes' in stock. Oh Did I mention that their gas is on average FORTY (40) CENTS more expensive than any other station in the area. All That said shout out to the the Black Crew that usually work in the afternoon, they ROCK, and they should be managing the place!!!!! read more

The store is dirty. The soda fountain is sticky and weirdly organized. The gas is stupid expensive. Yes, it is high because of proximity to the lake and it being one of the last stations out of town, but it also stays high because all the stations on Carefree HWY (including two other Four Sons) are super highly priced. The staff is hit and miss. Some are okay, some are downright apathetic. I think because, we're so close to the lake they feel the need to charge more for gas. Smart move for them. 've been a customer of 4suns for the last 15-20 years , used to work near the store on Dunlap ave , I use the one on 51st ave and the 101FWY. I visit that store at least once every two weeks to fill up Gas and buy snacks and Coffee or Pizza. I never Had an issue with your staff till this Sunday 10:00am , when I went in and picked up two Coffee bottles from the cooler and walked up to pay for them at the register , there was one customer ahead of me , I opened one of the coffee bottles and took a sip from it , when the "CLaimed to be Manager" yelled at me "Sir you cant drink your coffee , I am the manager and this is our property until you pay for it". I responded i am in line to pay , I don't see a problem with that. That's when he Replied " maybe your card will be declined then I have to call the police to arrest you for theft. RELLY I said I have Cash don't worry , he proceeded to claim I am the manager and your are to listen to me . I lost my mined at that time and pulled more than enough money to cover the bill and Landed it Over counter and left. Your "claimed "to be store manager chased me to the Parking lot . Flashing some change I told him to stay away from me and keep the change for less fortunate person who can use it. then he told me he is taking my license plate number and reporting me to the police ...And That I am not allowed in your store again . When this car wash opened it used to be amazing. Now half the time when I show up to get my car washed I have to wait for 5 minutes because the attendant also is a cashier inside the building. The last couple times I have been there some of the brushes don't spin when they're trying to wash your car. To address some of the issues they started having an attendant scrub the front of your car with a brush because it wouldn't get it clean. Now they don't even do that. And half the vacuums don't work anymore. It's time to cancel my monthly membership and my wife's monthly membership because the values no longer there. read more

Don't stop here for gas, unless you like paying 25 to 50 cents more. Go over the hill to the circle k on Daisy mountain road. This business could be good neighbors to the people that live around it. But, instead, they screw the neighbors day in and day out. One day a Circle K or QT will open across the street and 4 Sons will just be astonished at how they could lose all of their neighbors as customers for good. Criticism is fine, but let's keep it real! At time of posting, the price for unleaded gas here is $2.65 a gallon. According to Phoenix Gas Buddy, current prices for unleaded gas in the Phoenix area range from $2.17 to $2.79 a gallon, which means that their price, while on the high side, is a mere 6 cents more than 8 other stations listed on Gas Buddy and 14 cents a gallon LESS than the most expensive, so the statement "Price gouging at its best... at least 50 cents a gallon more than anyone around" is flat-out wrong. For a convenience store, it's well-stocked and has a very good car wash. The only real negative is that it can take a while to be served as the store is extremely busy. read more

Unfortunately I echo most of the reviews here. Their gas prices are astronomical compared to competition, 0.40 higher than most other stations. Unfortunately there is only one gas station at Carefree and I-17 which I am assuming is why they are so anti-competitive, which hopefully one day will end. I actively avoid getting gas here for this reason. read more

They take advantage of being right off the highway and have gas priced about 60 cents higher than anywhere else. I understand the convenience, especially for people just passing through. They know this and that's how they make their money. The inside is repulsive however. Bathrooms constantly covered with crap...literally. Just a nasty, grimey place. I live less then a mile from this location and only stop in for a soda or smokes. I go out of my way to avoid buying gas here. They are always at least .25 cents more per gallon then the Circle K's less then 5 miles away both north and south. If they brought their gases prices down they would be a good neighbor, but instead they survive on people who have to have fuel right now and will play a premium. Too bad. read more

Hope this place goes out of business eventually. I used to stop here for gas until the wise guy started raising it to 25-50 cents more than the Circle K on Daisy Mountain Road. The store is generally dirty as well and I would love to see a Circle K open in the dirt lot across from 4 sons. It would immediately lower its gas about 50 cents a gallon then but would probably be out of business anyway. Stop screwing over people in Tramonto and those who go to the lake. What's the purpose of building a new car wash when the old one did a better job! Went thru for my 3rd visit getting the $4 wash, and each tone the Spot Free arch lights up and no Spot Free water so my car gets hard water and the windows look terrible. I asked for a re-wash and received on at the $6 and still light lit up on the Spot Free wash, and no water from the arch. Now I'm going to Superstar at 67th Ave and Happy Valley it's a new express wash and for $3 I get a great wash with Spot Free rinse! Windows look perfect over there when you leave the wash. read more

So hopefully nobody needs to buy anything when the cashier has to actually multi task and get off her ass to help a customer instead of counting inventory. And by get off her ass she was literally sitting on the floor checking off a piece of paper while I stood at the register. She actually had the nerve to look at me twice and tell me she would be with me when she could. I've been to this gas station a lot and it's usually very busy so I understand if I have to wait to pay. Not when I'm the only customer in the store though. If you have options don't stop here after 11pm. She might be chewing gum and not be able to run the register at the same time. read more

Purchased a carwash at pump after filling up tank. Then went directly to carwash and it was closed for maintenance. Saved receipt and came back 3 weeks later to fill up again and manager David refused to honor the carwash. Terrible customer service! read more

Highest gas prices in the valley!

Gas prices way too high compared to stations about 5 miles further south on 17, as much as .20 - .40 per gallon at times. Even .05 - .10 per gallon higher than sister store only 3 miles east on Carefree Hwy. Stay away. read more

I absolutely love the car wash specifically mr. JR who works here he always gives my kids lollipops and makes sure to give me the wash rag and car scent when I get my car washed usually other employees don't give them out unless you ask for them. My car always comes out nice and clean and never have trouble with the vacuums. read more
