About a couple of months ago I requested an evaluation of my A/C unit on my home. This company came and after an evaluation by two technicians, they concluded that I needed to change the entire unit with an approximately cost of $7k. Although initially I believed in their honesty, after coming back from a trip, I called another specialist and he concluded that all I needed was the cooling gas. He charged me $100 (yes, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS) for the refill and unit is working perfectly! It is pitty that such a prestigious company like 4 Service Pros could be so wrong and try to induce me to buy a new unit. Or is this a regular practice to get more money from customers? read more

I contacted 4 Service Pros to get my Sump Pump looked at and possibly replaced on Yelp and they responded right away. They were able to send their plumber Edgardo Thillet to my home within a couple of days. He wore a mask and shoe covers which is very important during this time. He went over what was wrong with our old sump pump (too weak, sump pit filled with debris), what we can do with our drain pipe ourselves, and what he recommended if we wanted to get the sump pump replaced. He wrote up an estimate for us and we decided to get it done. We felt that we was extremely knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process. In addition, he never pressured us into getting anything replaced. When I contacted 4 Service Pros to make the appointment for the work, I made sure that they were sending Edgardo again. One thing they could improve is the acceptance process for the estimates. That part seemed complicated as I had to go to a site to accept the estimate a couple of times and it still didn't show the cost correctly but that had more to do with the site they were using. I have found my new go-to company for any work I need around the home. Manuel was our electrician and he was very knowledgeable and helped us to see risks we didn't know were there and explained everything he did every step of the way. He even provided an estimate for something different from what he came for and discussed this with us in full detail. 4 Service Pros is very professional to work with as a company as well. They send a text letting you know the name of your service tech when he's on his way, to include a picture so you know who to look for. Saw they had good reviews across several platforms so decided to try them on something fairly straightforward (leaking shower faucet) to see if I could trust them on something more complicated later. First sign of trouble was when we called back a few days ahead of time to confirm the appt, the receptionist had them coming the wrong date. Fixed that and called the day before to reconfirm and they had the wrong time. "Cory" seemed knowledgeable but wasn't sure he could get the correct part and was trying to get out of town to get to his vacation. He appears to have replaced either the balancer or mixing valve but it still leaks just not as much as before (probably both need to be replaced as they were installed in 1996). He claimed it would leak for a little bit and then stop and then he raised the shower diverter to (temporarily) make it appear not to be leaking. Once we realized this, we called the office and they claimed he was away on an emergency (even though he already said it was vacation) but "Tony" would call back about it. Several attempts with the receptionist to get "Tony" to call over the next two weeks didn't get any response so we wanted a refund since the faucet still leaked. Of course, someone in a different "department" was going to have to call back about the refund. Two more weeks later with no calls back and a leaky faucet and so we are left to dispute the charge with Visa. I'm not sure what is up given their previous good reviews (though that's changed recently). They seem to be covering for each other and just hoping we go away. Maybe they are having trouble getting good help post covid. Update: Messaged Charlie H with the info he requested below and there is STILL no follow up. I recently bought a new condo and the heat wasn't working. The HOA service maintenance crew to the building could not fix the issue but I contacted 4 Service Pros to the rescue. Charles was awesome! He was patient and got right to the issue. I was a bit disappointed in the HOA staff's inability to find the problem but after almost 2 hours, Charles was able to get the issue fixed by just turning the water valves to the furnace "on". Lessons learned: make sure your home inspector does their job right when you buy a home. It wasn't too expensive but no one wants to shovel out dollars after a recent purchase. I am grateful for the thoroughness of the issues explained and professionalism shown by Charles. I hope I don't have to call again, but if I do, it will be Charles at 4 Service Pros. Second concern for purchasing a new renovated property; make sure the home inspector checks for hot water in the tub/shower. New fixtures were not properly installed. (So the water only got lukewarm). Willis Darnell from 4 Service Pros; adjusted both my fixtures for hot water to flow in the tub/shower. This job was a bit expensive at $189 and took less than 10 minutes but I was only charged for one because it was so easy. Again, get a better home inspector. Thanks 4 Service Pros. This company is truly a company of professionals. My sump pump went out early in the evening (of course as most sump pump and plumbing issues do...at all the wrong times). My basement started flooding. I called at least a dozen plumbers. Most did not have around the clock service and most were rude. I spoke to a very pleasant and patient young lady who listened to me vent and stress about my flooding. Let me tell you, when you're basement is flooding during a storm, having a calm and patient customer service rep is critical. She communicated with me and and was very thorough about understanding the problem. She said she would try and get a technician out there as soon as possible. Which I heard a few times before from other companies without luck. I received a text and a follow up call to let me know we had a technician heading out. I could even track his progress. I just wish I knew her name, but she was amazing. Henri Benitez, the technician, came out. Truly professional and just as calming. He could see I was very agitated and frustrated with the situation, yet he kept his cool. He diagnosed and assessed the problem and had all the right tools and supplies to fix the problem. Took him about three hours to fix a problem that I'm sure was very complicated, in the middle of the night. He took pictures throughout the process so he could show me what was happening and how it happened. He ended up replacing the sump pump and got rid of any blockages. It's truly evident that this company spends a great deal of time in hiring the right people. From the customer service rep answering the phone to the plumbing expert who shows up at your door. They are not cheap, but the prices are very reasonable. You truly get what you pay for with this company. Without reservation, I would totally recommend this company. Emergency service call on a Sunday. They had a plumber dispatched and to our house within the hour. Tyriece diagnosed and solved the issue quickly (partial clog in main sewer line). Really appreciate that once he got the initial clog cleared he had us double and triple check by flushing all the toilets; this revealed that the clog was only partially cleared, so he snaked it again and we tested again. My hot water heater was leaking water due to a small crack in the cpvc pipe. I reached out to 4 Service Pros and they were able to send someone that day to take a look. My technician Carl Muterspaw was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnosis the issue and answered all my questions and concerns. He even explained my options and the pros/cons of fixing the leak vs replacing the system. I decided to replace the system since it is quite old. He was able to provide a fair and reasonable quote on the spot. Furthermore, he was able to start work right away, which was very important to me since I had turned off the water to the unit to stop the water from continuing to leak. He finished installing the new unit the same day so we were able to take hot showers that evening and we couldn't have been happier (there was a polar vortex hitting our area too)! The only thing I was not sure about was how a permit was to be obtained for this type of work. The company is heavily focused in VA so not sure how familiar they are with Montgomery County, MD. The permit from the City of Rockville was $289; however, a WSSC short form permit would have only been $135, which would have saved $154. Overall I was satisfied with the prompt response and service. I only used them for a quote. They were professional and on time. My only issue is I had previously received 5 quotes for the same exact project. Which I didn't mind the cost. The issue is they told me I need way more holes and outlets installed than any of the other 4 electricians. They also said I needed a permit for the job which none of the other electricians mentioned. I was getting 2 chandeliers installed and mirrors. The project they said that needed a permit was the mirror. Permits cost $200 with a wait time and still the cost of materials. The reason I didn't use them even though they weren't highest or lowest is because I don't like businesses who lie for a dollar. If you didn't know how to do the task just say that. Just needed the junction boxes dropped. Not an out let on each side and wiring that ran from the opposite side of the room through the roof. You may have needed a permit for what you said you wanted to do, but the holes and work wasn't necessary. I even ran it by other electricians. Another thing that was said i sent the link to the manager to view the mirrors (so they had all of the details) So here's pictures of the job while it was being done by another company. Just be honest about you not knowing how to do it. I recommend them for simple jobs. Very good pricing compared to most but complex task probably not. read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. We had a leaky boiler and called 4 Service Pros to fix the leak. The first technician that came out fixed the leak, however he told us that parts of the boiler would need to be serviced. He had to go buy the part and would come back. In the meantime, we had to keep our heat off. The technician never called us back. We called customer service; they said he should call us in a few days. He never did. Our home has been freezing since we were advise to keep the heat off, and the last few days have been in the 30s. So we called again. This time, we were told the technician left the company, but another technician would be sent out and should come in around 2-6pm the next day. I stressed to the dispatch that our home is freezing, hoping they would take this urgently. The new technician never showed up, no notice or call to say if they would be arriving or not. My husband called them; he was forwarded to voicemail. I called; I waited on hold for over 40 minutes before hanging up and writing this review. They have 24/7 service in their voicemail; that does not appear to be the case. Horrible communication (if the technician left the company, why were we not contacted so we could still try to finish this?). Horrible customer service. It's clear they do not care if you are freezing in your own home, having to wear layers upon layers of clothes to stay warm while you work from home. We went with them originally because other places we reached out to could not work on the boiler. We will not be using their services again. I was not expecting to like them. We had to replace a polybutylene pipe going from the main water line to our HVAC closet. Yes, I know, you regularly do this too. We were recommended Plumbing Express, and I called the number and got 4 Service Pros. They came out and did an estimate that was $3400, $2600 less than another estimate. I asked a bunch of questions to understand the price difference and name difference. Turns out, Plumbing Express got out of the polybutylene business and transferred all service to 4 Service Pros. I was hesitant but took a chance. The crew was terrific. I think there were 5 people working on the job. You could tell how much they respected each other. They communicated well and clearly, and seemed to work really well together and know what they were doing. They also communicated well with me, updating me throughout the process and when they completed specific milestones. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the process was truly seamless -- and quick. They finished in half the time they quoted me on, a pleasant surprise as I was expecting to be without water for a full day and it took 4-5 hours. read more

They quickly assessed the nature of the problem, made a recommendation, made sure we got a clear proposal, and were back the following week to install the new faucets and shower heads. Never again. They installed a new a/c and furnace for me for $10k. The a/c worked for 24 hours until it failed. I called at 3pm to have someone come look at it and was told someone would be at my house between 6 and 8pm. I called to get an update at 7:45 and was told they didn't have an ETA, but someone would come when they could. Seems to me that once they have your money you aren't a priority anymore. I had to call a different company to come look at my 2 day old a/c to get it fixed so my 18 month old son didn't have to sleep in a house that's 80 degrees. read more

I feel really bad giving a 3 out of 5 stars because you can really tell this company is about their customers and trying to do their best to service their customers. I contacted 4 Service Pros via Yelp to get a quote for a shut off valve for my humidifier. Greg, Brittany, and Elise definitely deserve 10 stars for the quick responses to yelp questions and quotes. I actually received a more competitive quote from another business so when they called me to get more information I was just letting them know that I already received a quote from another business and was going to go with them. Greg who is the owner, and I'm sure a very busy guy, got on the phone and personally told me he would meet the quote. He said he does it because his customers mean the world to him and he's in the business of making his customers stay and be happy. I truly believe that and I was very grateful to him and his staff for accommodating me even though I didn't ask them to. They really seem down to earth and care about their customers. They also fit me in the very next day so again amazing customer support and they are open 24/7. Today the plumber came, his name was Edgardo. He also was very personable and nice. I watched while he worked and asked a lot of questions which didn't seem to bother him. He seemed to welcome the questions and wanted to share the knowledge which was awesome. He also offered to flush my water heater at a discounted price and teach me how to do it since he was here doing the work anyways. I agreed and he was a very good teacher. He went through each step and explained why and etc. allowed time for me to take pictures and everything. His work also deserves 10 star review. So why the 3 stars? Everything went great until the end. They offer a free plumbing and electrical inspection after the visit. It's a yearly free service that as a customer you can request. I was thinking "wow, I really hit it BIG with finding this company!" But then he said, i can't do it for you right now because I'm late for my other appointment and my morning one took too long, so you can call back and reschedule it any time for free. Fair enough, but then on the slip he wrote, "Customer declined at the time. She will call to schedule free whole house plumbing safety inspection due to the time." So I tried to correct him, and I asked why can't you put on there that you do not have the time to do this for me instead of saying I'm declining, because that's dishonest. He just repeated that he had another customer who called him and needs him to at that location, but he has to show that he offered this option to me and kept saying "it's free you can call and reschedule anytime." I told him I understood, but I'm not declining it, he's not really offering it to me as a service today. He didn't seem like he wanted to budge, so I signed it and sent him on his way. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be calling for a free estimate on something that really wasn't an option for me to begin with. I'm here now and I'm your customer now, I waited for you to come to my house to do the work, so if you're delayed from a morning shift, not my problem. On top of that I'm certainly not going to take time off work when I already did for something that could have been take care of when it was convenient for me; not the service provider I really do appreciate the company and what they are trying to do. But for me honesty goes a long way. Had he not offered it and went on his way this would have been a 5 star review hands down. Or tell me about it, and put an honest response down. He was honest and very efficient. He also took great care to wear the proper protective equipment that is needed during this pandemic, which I imagine makes his job harder.
