Considering that, I'm unsure how we wound up stuck for multiple days, culminating in a 19-plus hour day and a 1 a.m. move to the new location just 30 minutes away. But the largest issue is how highly unprofessional and shockingly aggressive the movers were. Our belongings were bafflingly thrown from a third floor balcony within a shared community complex, endangering others and ruining property. When we expressed dismay, one employee, Derrick, became violent and had to be physically restrained by another, who actually quit shortly after, citing Derrick's disrespect. Upon arrival, all of our belongings were stacked and left at the entryway; hundreds of pounds of furniture blocking the only door to the home of an elderly couple. College Hunks also left all trash and company packing materials, including dozens of heavy blankets. A staggering amount of our property was damaged too; gauges to a 150-year-old family heirloom, ripped artwork, scuffed tables and floors, multiple shattered glass tables. Not what you'd expect from a multi-thousand dollar move. College Hunks has not offered any compensation, refund, or explanation, despite our repeated attempts to speak with local and corporate leads to discuss further. Due to closing issues, I had to push my move date Back 2 days. He said he'd be able to do it in the afternoon and that he would be there between 2:00 and 3:00pm depending on how the job before mine went. They wanted to push it to the next day but I insisted we had to do it that day because literally all of our stuff was packed and ready to go. I ordered one truck and two movers for our two bedroom, one bath duplex. My fiance and I did a lot of moving before they even arrived, essentially just leaving the furniture for them and some boxes. Their attitude seemed Brusque but it was probably because they were just tired from however many moves they had that day. They wrapped most of my furniture carefully with blankets, but I must say I was not pleased with the way that they moved my grandfather clock. The second mover, Alex, said "well this is fragile" when looking at my clock. I was like yes that's why I hired Movers. They didn't even know you had to take the pendulum out of the clock when moving it. They refused to take my very small TV off of the wall, and told me they would have to charge extra for that which I have never heard before. That was frustrating. They made a dent in my baseboard and scratched a lot of paint in my newly painted residence, and then gave me attitude when I asked when they were going to fix it. He then begrudgingly said that he would send somebody over Saturday to fix it. That guy was nice and did an okay job. They worked very hard but I think it would have gone faster with three movers. It would have been nice to have a discount since they were over 3 hours late also. I'm not sure if I would use them again, but I'm glad that we are finally in our new place with the damage fixed (aside from the clock).
