Dont let the sketchy area or drab appearance scare you. Tried this place thanks to a Groupon recommendation. HUGE portions. Food is not anything that will make you say wow but uts very good, and they dont skimp on the ingrediants. So many mexican places use lots of lettuce or beans as filler, these people use meats and veggies and its tasty. Best thing about 4caminos hands down was the service. I am not a fan of Mexican food usually. Ok, the margaritas at a great Mexican joint the name of which I've forgotten on a canal in Amsterdam. But today I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly staff and the great food here. I took the daily special for $7.99: a huge platter of delicious lightly spiced shrimp in veggies and mushroom with fresh salsa, refried beans and rice, all of which was super tasty. Ate everything along with gratis tortilla chips and yummy homemade salsa. A Pacifico Clara beer was enjoyed. And fresh corn tortillas--4. Had great flan with whipped cream for dessert. I Wish I could take stars away. My co-workers and I work at the hospital (during Co-Vid) and decided to order from this place for a change of pace yes, we are first responders. It was $11.00 for two cheese enchilada (beans and rice not included), I ordered Cocktail De Camerone for $14.00 there were only 4 pieces of shrimp and absolutely no Avocado (as advertised). In my opinion Very expensive tomato juice with a little onion and celery. In notes we had asked for an order of Churros and an extra order of chips and salsa which was not included (no chips or salsa at all was included). I would of been more than willing to have paid extra and when the call was made to verify order I specifically asked if they had seen the extras ordered in the notes. I was told yes and it was verified what the extras were. The ordered was delivered and I was supposed to show ID and the card with which I had paid. The order was given to someone else who did not know to check for the extra items and ask for a receipt. I will never order from here again. I called twice to try and work this out as my phone call was never returned. I wasn't asking for free I was asking to make it right. During this time we should try and support each other. read more

I wanted to love it for it is so close to my home.... but I don't. I had 2 fish tacos, a small side of refried beans, and 2 beers. $17 dollars, plus money for a tip over $20 for a place that doesn't offer much for atmosphere (that's being generous) and is in a marginal neighborhood. The tacos were just on small corn tortillas, the tilapia was grilled but lacked flavor and came with only lettuce and a small amount of tomatoes. Seriously lacked flavor! Went in with my family for lunch, we were seated and not given menus so I don't know if they just don't give them out because we noticed no other customers were given menus. After about 20 min my dad went up and asked for them then after that one of the waiters (there were 2) brought us chips and asked about drinks. They brought out our drinks but forgot my moms drink (water) We waited another 10-20 min before they came to get our order, and I let the waitress know she forgot my moms water and she said oh I'm sorry I forgot. While waiting for the food some customers were waiting for a table but the only one available was dirty so one of the customers got up and cleaned it while the waiter had walked to the kitchen. Then when our food finally got there both my dads and my birria were luke warm and they forgot my tortillas so we had to go up an ask, I had also asked for an extra plate for my kids food and they never brought that out, by the time the waiter remembered my kids had already finished eating. My moms drink came after our food the food was pretty disappointing for everyone and the bill came out to almost 100 so definitely not going back. read more

I have been here many times. The tacos are amazing and the best value. The husband makes his own michelada mix that is very good. I did however get a taco salad once and it was basically a slim pot. don't get that. get tacos & michelada. the owners are very nice, even when we have to many beers. I have heard it gets a little crazy on weekend nights, so if your not into that then don't go those nights and then complain about it. read more

The food is basic Americanized Mexican fare. It is good for what it is, but I think Los Pepes in East Vancouver is more flavorful, and they don't load thier beans with lard like this place does. The family that works here is very friendly, so there is that. The prices are where I choke. For four of us to eat one meal plate each and have a typical soda, we walked out of there for over $60 with tip. When a full quarter of the oversized plate is a thin spread of lard beans and another quarter is basic tomato flavored rice, the cost of the food is hard to swallow. We did not try the cart out front. From what I've read, this is where the better deals are. For twenty dollars less, we will keep returning to Los Pepes. read more

Bought a Groupon to try this place out and the food was OK but the service was poor. I feel as if once they knew I was using a Groupon the service sucked. I have eaten here a few times and it's been good but not great. This time was bad. The refried beans were horribly over salted and dried out to the point of not being edible. The first bite I had burned my tongue because of how much salt was in the beans. That is no exaggeration. I won't go back. There are better local choices for Mexican food. read more

Ordered food and they took about 40min to make the food and served other people who came later faster then me and my family member. It was well recommended which is why I decided to go there in the first place. I will never go there again. I didn't even get what I ordered in the first place. Their appetizer platter does not have mozzarella sticks like the menu said and their guacamole BACON cheese burger has NO bacon really. Well, i was excited, and the food looked good. However only half of my order showed up, and when this restaurant was made aware all they did was give me a refund for that item and call it a day. While i am thankful they did that, if they want to retain customers, this was not a first time experience that leaves me wanting anything more than to go get my dinner from somewhere else. We were looking for a new Mexican place in the area to try out Friday evening and found 4 Caminos on Groupon. We were very hungry and the place seemed okay until we were seated. I witnessed the server lady reuse bowls of chips and even the salsa from customers that left and bring them to our table. I requested water for the two of us, which was never provided even after reminding the female server three times (we left without ever getting water). There was a specials sign in the lobby advertising $3.95 regular Margaritas (that were $6.95 each on the bill). We ordered two of them and when they arrived there was maybe .02 ounces of Tequila in each. Both were exactly the same color and tasted like a bowl of sugar. My wife asked if these were virgin Margaritas and the answer was.. absolutely not. The lady said that she would take care of it, and brought to our table were two shots of Monarch Tequila (that were added to the bill for an additional $7.90) to add to make a proper Margarita, and when added, made it close. When the food finally came, the rice and beans had no flavor and something smelled of dirty dish rag. The tortillas on the side included with my wife's meal were enclosed in a dirty towel with salsa and food stains on it. Apparently there is a salsa bar that was only mentioned after we had been there for the 40 mins it took to get our dinner-There were just two other tables with customers at the time, I never had to wait 40 mins in an empty restaurant, by the way. We could not eat more than a few bites of the meal and we decided that even though we were hungry, 90% of the order we left without taking home. When I went to pay, the bill was overcharged excessively for the drinks and when I requested the "up charge" for the "extra" shots of tequila, it was aggressively denied and the "owner/cook/bartender" asked what my problem is. When I explained, he said that he made the drinks himself and they were fine, period. THE MARGARITAS HERE ARE POURED FROM A PRE-MADE MIX. "That's the way it is, you pay now..come on." $49.90 for two Margaritas and two small combo dinners. I have worked in three Mexican restaurants previously when I was younger and in the business for almost two decades. I hope this review will help inform other couples and families that if your health and pocketbook are important to you, please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this establishment. read more

Dont ever go there or if you already went dont ever go back!!First of all i am from Mexico and knowing the real mexican food this is not even close, i was there with my wife on a date and definitely the food was not good at all, and the music was so loud it was even uncomfortable because we couldnt even hear ourselves, and yes its a Mexican restaurant but if you are trying to make it as a family restaurant you need to put better songs than the ones they play,it was all corridos and when i got up and asked if they could please turn it down they got all upset and were talking to eachother with the cook! And just to end it,we were finishing our drinks and yeap there it was !!! A Cucaracha!!! Yes a cucaracha was passing by on our table! It was so gross it even made us feel like we were eating it! We told the server and she just evated the statement and charged us for the food,Maybe they already killed it , or maybe not but, be carefull next time you go maybe the meat you are eating might be crunchy because of the special ingredient ! We have been here twice and the food is excellent. The service is also excellent. We have two issues I think the management needs to address: First of all, the TV was on a Mexican sports station and was so loud we could barely carry on a conversation. Secondly, it would be helpful for us non Spanish speaking customers, for the wait staff/servers knew a little English. Thank you 4 Caminos for having actual real Mexican Food in the Pacific Northwest wasteland of fake Mexican food. We moved here about a month ago from Southern California where authentic Mexican food is everywhere, and I know it well. I have tried several so-called Mexican restaurant on a mission to find real Mexican food and everything is bland or does not quite make it until now. One bite and I knew my craving would be satisfied. Our waitress Jasmine was great, very friendly and attentive. It's not fancy by any means. If you're a transplant from a state who knows Mexican food and you don't care about fancy digs, go here. I was so happy to find 4 Caminos. Everyone else besides us in the restaurant were Mexican, and everything is the strip mall had Mexican writing on it. They are there for Mexicans and anyone else who wants very good, authentic Mexican food. It was a bit of a drive for us, but we will definitely have repeat visits. read more

customer service was HORRIBLE, we didn't get everything that was suppose to come with our appitizer and they still charged us full price, the taquitos were also burnt on our appitizer. They never once refilled our glasses, we had to ask. they charged us 15.00 for fajitias and they barely came with any meat and the sauce was gross, and they had the music so loud it sounded like a night club and my 1 year old was scared out of this mind, waste of time and money, do not eat here if you are concerned about quality and customer service! read more

Do not eat here!! We got really sick after eating here. And they also charged us $4 more than we should have been. We had a variety of things on the menu, and most of what we had seemed to be covered in an acidic tomato-based sauce. It lacked flavor and it got cold really fast.
