    Macchiato Doble
    Dominique G.

Let me get this out of the way; I came here because it was one of two places in Panamá on Yelp!. In the words of the great Marshawn Lynch "You know why I'm here" . We needed a place for breakfast and this fit the bill. The actual establishment is nice and clean. Only English music was played so it almost gave the feeling of being home. The staff were nice and while they didn't speak much, they took care of us. The macchiato was pretty good, but as long as you have a decent machine to make it, you shouldn't mess it up. The food was probably the weak point. I ordered the Desayuno Panameño (Panamanian Breakfast) because "when in Rome", right? I wouldn't have felt right ordering something I would typically see in the U.S. the breakfast consisted of 1/2 steak, Sunny side up egg, and two Panamanian tortillas with cheese on top. The steak was a bit rough, the egg was superb, and the tortillas were mediocre and it just seemed like pieces of cheese were laid on top. Not melted or any care given to their presentation. The overall taste of the meal was decent. Nothing special but it did the job. Overall this was a decent place and offers some very American options (as do many places in Panamá). I would say give it a try and see what you think of it.

Small cozy place in Ave Balboa, breakfast all day, tends to be crowded on Sundays for Brunch. Got to try the Duro de Raspao de Rosas

Tried 3 different oysters- delicious. Finally got the scallops as an entree and they were some of the best I've ever had, plated over a thick cut of pork belly. They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

Even though I had heard about this place, I was leary because all the Yelp reviews were so old. However, the place was packed and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I had the Saturday special 8oz Filet and added sautéed mushrooms and herb butter. They do charge extra for every single little thing, but these items "made" the steak. Hubby had the smoked Pork Chop with a baked potato (which we shared; upcharge to get it "loaded" which meant they added cheese to the butter and sour cream). Fresh hot bread and butter came with the meal. Both entrees were Yumm-oh! Our waitress was attentive and friendly and busy. I also got a glass of Moscato wine, which was tasty. And we ordered the Brownie Sundae for dessert, which unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. I'd definitely skip the $9! dessert. The total bill was North of $100, so kind of pricey for us, but we did like what we had. I just wanted to add a review that was current.

I visited with a party of 8, and across eight varied and unique entrees, everyone absolutely loved their meal. Fried fish came out deliciously crispy in cornmeal batter, salads were freshly chopped and vibrant, and my blackened chicken was perfectly tender. I am usually a stickler for taking photos to go with my reviews but I forgot this time as the meal looked so good - everything was that tasty! :) Service was excellent and the rural atmosphere was calm and serene. The restaurant is nestled outside of town next to rolling hills and a large pond that makes for scenic views. I highly recommend a visit to anyone who's in the area!

We ordered the tableside quac, because it is what you do when that option is provided. We customized the selections to our liking, and the result was a delicious, fresh guac. I would return just for this and a margarita flight. Oh yes, a Margarita Flight. Four different flavors of margs, served on a tower with flowers and sparklers stuck to it. A+ for presentation! The Margaritas themselves were also quite good, fruity and sweet just like I like them. The menu has a small vegan section, but not a vegetarian one. So one can order a vegan meal or customize an entree without meat, for example. I went with a cheese quesadilla. The place is shiny and new, with a modern color palette and an insta-worthy neon light wall. Our server was really feiendly and helpful with any questions we had about the menu. Coke Zero establishment! I'll be back for more quac and drinks!

I was super excited to try the ribeye fajitas. I do not know of any other place in Omaha that does ribeye fajitas. The meat was sliced thinly perfect for fajitas however, there was just very little flavor and they were surprisingly a bit dry. Almost like no seasoning at all was used. I don't think I've ever salted my fajitas, but I did this time. Luckily, there was a salt shaker on the table. It did at least give it some flavor. The onions and green peppers that came with it were cooked perfectly, but also tasteless. My dining partner didn't care for her meal much either. She just did not care for the taste of the red sauce. It reminded her a bit of barbecue sauce for some reason. I tasted it and it's not something I would've enjoyed either just personal preference on that. I'm sure others love it. I wish there were prices on the drink menu and because there was not I just stuck with a house Margarita, not knowing what everything else would cost. The restaurant was super clean and as I mentioned, the employees were over the top helpful.

Most importantly, the quality of the food consistently shines through. My wife and I ordered the Deep South Risotto, a delicious combination of fresh shrimp, Andouille sausage, and green beans tossed in a spicy, creamy risotto. We also enjoyed the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, featuring perfectly cooked teriyaki-glazed salmon served over a blend of brown rice and red quinoa with tender sautéed broccoli.
