Out of all the U-pick farms in the area, we chose J&E because it's one of the few that offers organic berries. There isn't much information on their website about admission fees, reservations, or the farm animals, so we weren't sure what to expect until we arrived. We came around noon without a reservation. Admission is $5 for non-pickers and $7 for pickers, which includes the first pound of strawberries. The strawberries and blackberries were some of the sweetest I've never had, and we were able to enjoy them all week. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the Brentwood area!

Parking was easy and right at the entrance, you walk over to the booth to sign a waiver and collect your buckets. The buckets are lined with a plastic bag. Not to mention the buckets are pink, so cuteee! I brought my own buckets and bag. I also brought a wagon. It was nice to have a wagon to help carry all the cherries i picked. The staff here are very friendly. If youre like me and you brought your own bucket, they'll need to remove the cherries you picked to their bucket and weigh it on the scale. The scale is already calibrated for their bucket weight. The cherries were $4.50 per pound and i ended up picking 20lbs worth. This was about 2 full buckets. With the weather getting warmer, i suggest going in the morning. If you have questions, they have a number to call. They have a variety of cherries, ranier included. Ladders are randomly spread out in the farm for you to use. My friends and i had such a great time picking cherries and took some cute pictures as well. We'll definitely be back !

I immediately got a great vibe with the brightly painted barn and sky blue house. Let's go back to goat yoga. Basically it's yoga floor moves with darling baby goats that pose for pics and want to be cuddled. It's just another way to be at one with the earth. I throughly enjoyed my instructor and the environment. Now back to the farm...it's a not for profit farm that has children classes and first time farmers. They offer an array of vegetables for sale using the honors system. They have a red box outside that you deposit $ in. In all this place was a breath of fresh air and I'm definitely going back! The kids were able to feed the goats and chickens as well as pick worms from the compost bins (gross/cool). I noticed a review several months back complain of no sanitation station. During our field trip everyone was ready for us AND they had a hand washing station near the entrance/exit. They also shared the additional goal of the farming industry to bring in young people interested in farming. The average farmer in America is 58 years old and it's a grueling career!

The market is about two streets long including everything from fruit, vegetables, bread, mushroom jerky (really good too!), flowers, oil, etc. it's mostly the same vendors however I've seen some new ones yesterday. It's just nice to walk around and see what there's to offer. I've been to Antioch's farmers market as well, but I personally prefer this one since it's closer and more to offer!

Farmers daughter provides buckets for free and doesn't charge an entrance fee unlike another local popular farm. The day we went they had peaches, plums and apricots for picking and the apricots tasted like jam - so sweet and perfect for the kiddos to hold (and devour). Their produce stand was also filled with a wide range of prepicked fruit and veggies. Service was beyond kind and I loved that they had tables and lots of open space for kids to frolick. This was like a 2 hour adventure for us and the kids can't stop talking about it. We can't wait to return!
