Later on, we found out that section was already out of season. As we walked farther, we finally saw much better cherries, but most of the good ones were way too high to reach and there were no ladders available. There were some lower branches, but the cherries there were not great in quality, so we ended up picking only around 3 lbs. We then decided to switch to the peach and nectarine area hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately there was barely anything good to pick. Most of the fruits were either overripe, damaged, or already picked over. Overall, it felt like the farm should have better guidance on which sections are still worth visiting before customers pay and spend time walking around in the heat. The staff was fine, but the overall fruit quality and picking experience were disappointing for us this visit.

We took a tractor out to the fields. We were able to pick Lapins (deep red and sweet), sweethearts (which my kids loved, but they were a bit more sour to us), and rainiers (the yellow red ones and our favorite as they were super sweet). The cherries were easy to pick even for our little kids, and there were a few ladders in the trees as well. We went on Memorial Day weekend so there was also a shaved ice tent and cannolis and Italian spritzes available for purchase. The farm was also selling sweet corn at the cashier. We ended up with about 8 lbs. You can bring your own food, drinks and your own bag/backpacks. Don't forget snacks, sunscreen, a hat and drinks! Also a cooler for your produce!

I'll be at we left at 9:30 in the morning and the ticket per person was very reasonable. They take cash or Venmo. There are a lot of great small kids friendly things to do like a petting zoo where you get to meet baby chicks in person and even touch or hold them and they have pumpkins for you to bring home per person all in all we really enjoyed ourselves. We didn't really have time to explore at all, but we look forward to coming back. My only feedback is to provide carts for taking the pumpkins to the car, it's challenging with little ones when your hands are full. Quick tip: cash or Venmo. Bring a cart for your pumpkins if you have a lot to carry.

I go pick cherries at Chavez once a year for 7-8 years now. I wake up very early and try to get there right when they open so that I don't get stuck in traffic. It can get crowded. Also, this can help you get a parking spot for sure. They do have a big parking lot though so it's probably okay. Price this year: $4/lb. They accept credit card now too. I love cherries here. They are quite big, sweet and a little tangi. Yummy!! Just make sure to be patient and don't pick the ones that are not that dark yet. Keep going until you find a good tree. Then you can commit to picking them. I've seen people that pick too many of the light pink color ones and then ended up threw them away so they don't have to pay. So bad. This joint will set you back $4.50 a pound for u-pick version and they offer pre-picked cherries for $6 a pound. Additional items for sale: a fruit picker stick for $15, Marsh Creek Farm hats for $20, water bottles for $1, & local honey for $18. With our visit occurring during opening weekend, picking the cherries wasn't too bad. There was plenty of reachable fruit for ya girl who is a whopping 5'5. The darker, sweeter options located at the tip top of the trees were only accessible if you had a fruit picker. No ladders were available or seen. 5/5 stars for the memorable family fun. Our party left with 3 [small] buckets of firm, crisp, semi tart, & juicy cherries. I didn't realize it was a good place to go, the man that you check in with was a very nice man it's cash or Venmo so that's amazing that they use Venmo just in case you don't have cash it was great for my three year old. He was able to taste some of the cherries and then there were just so many cherries on the trees that he could pick on. Parking was easy and right at the entrance, you walk over to the booth to sign a waiver and collect your buckets. The buckets are lined with a plastic bag. Not to mention the buckets are pink, so cuteee! I brought my own buckets and bag. I also brought a wagon. It was nice to have a wagon to help carry all the cherries i picked. The staff here are very friendly. If youre like me and you brought your own bucket, they'll need to remove the cherries you picked to their bucket and weigh it on the scale. The scale is already calibrated for their bucket weight. The cherries were $4.50 per pound and i ended up picking 20lbs worth. This was about 2 full buckets. With the weather getting warmer, i suggest going in the morning. If you have questions, they have a number to call. They have a variety of cherries, ranier included. Ladders are randomly spread out in the farm for you to use. My friends and i had such a great time picking cherries and took some cute pictures as well. We'll definitely be back !
