I requested battery service from 352 Roadside and Auto Repair, through AAA, on Monday, January 29. The individual identified that the battery needed to be replaced and proceeded to put the replacement battery in backwards. As a result, and because of his repeated attempts that caused significant sparking at the terminal and triggering of the wipers, lights, alarm, etc., the car shut down. During the attempts, when the alarms, etc. were going off, the service person yelled for me to "turn it off!!". This was impossible as it was caused by his attempts to connect the terminal to the wrong polarity. The car wouldn't start and the service person argued that he hadn't caused the issue (he later admitted it) and he made numerous attempts to leave. The car was towed to the VW dealer, again, on Monday. I have the manager, Mark, at 352 Roadside & Auto Repair every morning with no progress. This morning, I made it clear that I am not willing to be inconvenienced anymore and he replied that he would immediately call the dealer for a status and reach back out to me. It is 2:15pm 2/1/23 and I still have not heard from him. With this understanding that an electrical charge made its way through the vehicle numerous times, I am uncertain that more damage hasn't been done to the car, that the dealer may overlook. At this point, this issue needs to be addressed immediately. I did not create the problem and I did not compromise my vehicle's electrical system. Someone who is supposed to have at least a basic understanding of cars and batteries should have recognized the issue immediately. I had not received a return call or text 2/1 and I called and left a voicemail at approximately 5:24pm. At approximately 6pm 2/1, I received a voicemail that the car SHOULD be done by the morning of 2/2. As of 10am 2/2, I have not received a call. A report has been made to BBB as well as AAA.
NEW INFORMATION ADDED 2/3/24: The car still has not been repaired or returned and it has been 6 days. The claim of not being able to contact me is false. Brittany (employee for 352) asked me if receiving their texts was easier than phone calls, to which I replied yes. We have been communicating in this manner since she asked me. Please refer to the screenshots of the texts from Brittany and Troy (owner). So the car is suddenly ready and texting (which we have been doing all week) is ok. read more
