My husband and I got married at 34 events on November 4, 2016 and it was beautiful. We wanted a venue that was pretty on it's own, flexible on the caterer and we got that and then some. The lighting package is worth it (chandlier, uplights, overhead string lights)- really, it's all you need to highlight the gorgeous brick interior. Photo package- our engagement pictures were excellent. Neither my husband or I would be considered "photogenic" but he really captured some great shots. Alex started taking pictures of us at 9:30 AM during the Vietnamese tea ceremony and again as we got started getting ready at 34 events around 1 and through the wedding until it ended. He had 2 other assistant photographers there capturing the party. Alex's style is photojournalistic and he is a ninja at getting shots without you knowing. The photo booth was a big hit and they let it run an additional hour or so. We did not go with the caterer through the venue, we needed a very specific ethnic multi-course meal that Alex allowed us to bring our caterer of choice which a lot of other venues do not allow. We also got the beer/wine package and our guests took full advantage. Alex was really easy to work with and always responded promptly. The Perfect All-in-One Wedding Venue 34 Events was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. The space is beautiful and exactly what we envisioned for our day. We hosted both our ceremony and reception there for 150 guests, and it couldn't have worked out better. One of the biggest advantages of 34 Events is how much is handled in-house. From linens and flatware to special lighting, catering, and the bar, so much was coordinated through the venue, which made the planning process incredibly easy and stress-free. The food was prepared on-site and was delicious. We received numerous compliments from our guests. We also utilized Hope's Day-of Coordination services, and it was worth every penny. Hope is simply amazing. She made the entire day feel calm and effortless, allowing us to truly enjoy every moment. We are so grateful for her care, organization, and attention to detail. Both Hope and Alex were incredibly responsive throughout the process, and we genuinely enjoyed working with them. My daughter's wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to Alex and Hope, who worked within our budget, made suggestions when asked but were never pushy, and delivered a seamless event that our guests, and more importantly, the bride and groom loved! The food was outstanding and the exposed brick venue was perfect for their reception. The couple had a church wedding so we only used the space for the reception but there was ample room for 125ish guests to dance, take photos, mingle, get to the bar, and get their meal (buffet style). The lighting was perfect and the open floor plan allowed for guests to see what was happening (bride/groom dance, toasts, etc.) without having to leave their seat. I was somewhat concerned about the sendoff on a city street but even that was perfect with the guests lining the sidewalk with their sparkler wands. All in all, a memorable night! read more

Our experience with 34 Events was stellar. We loved the look of the venue, with its exposed brick and hardwood floors, along with the lighting. When we reviewed options, we decided we wanted to take advantage of a complete package that included food, beverage service, lighting, photo booth, day of coordinator and appetizer. My husband and I are so glad we picked this package - it was a huge weight off of our shoulders. The food was amazing and there are enough choices for anyone to find something they'll enjoy. Cost was reasonable for this package and so worth it. We appreciated the payment option. Service was excellent and Hope was so helpful as coordinator! For Texas weather, 34 Events is such a great option as everything is indoors. It rained and temps dropped dramatically on our wedding day, so we were so glad we chose an indoor venue. Transitions were orderly, and everything went smoothly. We've received so many compliments on the venue, the food, the experience, and the vibe and we ourselves had such a wonderful wedding that we really got to enjoy. I cannot recommend 34 Events enough, and I suggest the package for less worry. Hope and Alex won't steer you wrong - communication with them was always so easy! read more

We had our wedding last June at 34 events and Alex the owner was our photographer as well. I must say that we were extremely disappointed with the way our pictures turned out. When we met with Alex originally he showed us some of his wedding albums and the pictures looked pretty amazing. We had already booked another trusted photographer for our wedding day but Alex offered us a discount on the venue if we chose him to be our photographer on our big day. So my wife and I figured that based on Alex's past wedding pictures taken, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go with him and get a discount on our venue at the same time. HUGE MISTAKE! Fast forward to a few months after our wedding day. When we finally received our wedding pictures from Alex we were so excited to look at them! That excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we noticed that he sent us 700 pictures! Yes, 700 pictures! Alex asked us to go through 700 nearly duplicate images and narrow it down to our favorite 60 so he could put an album together for us when in reality he should have done that for us as part of the cost of his services. He did not even take the time to invite us over to his studio to go over the pictures together like most photographers do. We were also disappointed to notice that he missed several key moments of our wedding like our first kiss, the ring exchange etc. There was also no pictures of me and my groomsmen getting read prior to the ceremony. A wedding is a one-time event and the photographer must be prepared for the unexpected. Alex did not seem to be around for the unexpected pictures. Luckily, my brother in law had his Nikon with him and was able to capture a lot of these unexpected shots. We perfectly understand that shooting a wedding is both exhausting and invigorating as the photographer is constantly looking for good angles and opportunities for candid shots. Having a run list with all of the expected shots could have been a useful tool for Alex at our wedding since he missed so many important moments. A good photographer usually works with an assistant who can carry equipment, arrange guests, and assist with clothing adjustments or holding of reflectors. This probably would have been helpful for a lot of the outdoor shots that were taken in the sweltering heat. Alex the owner is a decent guy who has a lot of potential based on the albums he showed us and the pictures on his website. My wife and I just wish he put the same amount of effort into making our pictures as nice as the pictures he took on his webpage and photo albums. read more

My now husband and I booked this venue in summer of 2020 and we worked with Alex and Hope for our venue, décor, catering, day of coordinator and photography. We picked 34 Events because we love the all inclusive packages they provide, rustic look, intimacy, and location that was close to the church. We loved the convenience of having all inclusivity of the venue because it included the linens, utensils, servers, bartenders, parts of center pieces for the décor, and photo booth. They provide options for day of coordinator, catering, photography, videography so it made it easier to coordinate with fewer vendors. We loved working with Alex and Hope because they were organized, responsive, reliable, helpful with suggestions, flexible (we had to postpone the wedding from 2021 to 2022). Being a small business, we felt much more personalized and connected with them as opposed to working with a large company. The catering was delicious! They have many delicious options to choose from that we tried during the food tasting. We had appetizers for the guests which included, mac and cheese bites, spinach stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella bites. We had chicken cordon bleu and a prime rib station as our main course with veggies and mashed potatoes. We also added the coffee and tea bar option and the soda package. All were great! Alex was our photographer for the wedding and he did our engagement pictures as well. He was awesome to work with and very knowledgeable. We loved that he directed us on poses for the pictures and his attention to detail for photography lighting . Hope was our day of coordinator and she was wonderful! She is very organized, detailed oriented, and passionate about what she does. We communicated in person and through email all the details up to the day before the wedding and she was very responsive to reply. She set up and took down the décor. She also provides service to rent décor pieces. She went above and beyond with decorations, keeping to the timeline of the wedding day, and even helping with bustling my dress. She made sure we had plenty of time to eat and got drinks for us at the bar during dinner. The décor was beautiful and classy just as I had pictured for my wedding. This place is really unresponsive. I am looking for casual places to host a personal event and really liked this place when I was casually walking in downtown Plano. I have been trying to get in touch with the venue owner for more than a week now but no response. I emailed them called them several times and also inquired on the website. We could have not picked a better venue for my daughter's wedding. We had compliments all night from our guests about the venue and how perfect it was for their wedding. The exposed brick along with the lighting had the perfect ambiance. Alex was excellent to work with and you will love Hope. My daughter doesn't like to be the center of attention and Hope was able to accommodate all of her requests and give her a nudge like having a first dance. The next day my daughter said it was EVERYTHING SHE COULD HAVE ASKED FOR AND MORE, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!. We had our wedding here on 7/15/17. Alex did a fantastic job helping plan our special day. We had only looked at one other venue before initially coming to 34 Events, but we were set on this venue after seeing it and speaking with Alex. We used all vendors/individuals Alex recommended/provided other than the cake and DJ. Alex took our engagement photos at two separate locations and he also took our wedding photos...we loved our engagements but are really excited to see the wedding photos! The catering through Alex was really delicious and there are plenty of options to choose from. Alex and the rest of the staff at 34 Events worked hard the day of - my husband even commented how it seemed like during the wedding Alex was always here or there making sure everything was going smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 34 Events to anyone looking for a venue for a wedding or another event! read more

It is very unfortunate that I have to write a negative review for this business. My husband and I paid in installments to have a wedding here and was verbally told many exciting things by Alex's assistant Hanna such as how she would assist in coordinating our wedding. We paid a total of $8,000 out of $12,000 starting on 6/20/15 for a wedding planned for 11/21/2015. The picture we were painted was totally different than what we experienced from the time we paid until the time we decided to cancel which was in mid August 2015. When we agreed to have our wedding here, the building was still under renovation, so we had only thus far seen an empty building and only pictures of what it would look like. We were told that beginning of July the place would be ready and that we could then have a tour. Well that never happened. In fact, no one contacted us regarding our wedding the WHOLE of July. Being that it was less than 6 months away I began to become anxious. Haven't seen the building, tables, table cloths, decor, nothing! Yet we continued paying on faith which was a risk we didn't want to continue to take. Finally in mid August I decided to reach out, HELLO??? To find out what was going on and ask many questions, one mainly being touring the finished product. Hanna responded back the next day starting her email off with "Sorry for the delayed response, we were at a destination wedding in Chicago".... This only offended me more because here we are having already blindly paid $8,000 towards our wedding scheduled now 3 months away, no one has done or contacted us that this place was ready to be toured, nothing about catering, about the decor, or even the engagement photos that was supposed to be included. And this is how you start your response to me?! I got a strong feeling of being unimportant to say the least. So we decided to cancel the wedding and with our signed contracts stating that there would be a FULL refund if the event was canceled at least 90 days in advance, I thought there would not be an issue getting our money returned. Boy was I wrong! His assistant did all of the writing back and forth via email the whole time, first trying to issue an "in house credit" then down right refusing and trying to confuse the situation when it was clearly written in the contract we signed that a full refund would be issued and we clearly canceled at least 90 days in advance in writing. Not one call by the way. They did absolutely nothing towards our wedding yet wanted to keep $8,000 ?? So, we hired a lawyer to review and write a demand letter via certified mail. No response from that. Next we, filed suit in Collin County court and the Judge Paul Raleeh quickly ruled in our favor (less than 15 minutes after hearing us and Alex speak) after reviewing the contract and our case. The judge demanded for Alex to return a total of $8,116.00 (including court fees) back within 21 business days from when we went to court which was on 5/2/16. It is now 12/29/16 and we have yet to receive our money back. So, over a year and half has gone by since we canceled. 7 months have gone by since he was ordered to return our money. And according to these reviews, he has had several weddings so he has had an ample opportunity to return our money but still has not. Now we have to return to court to put a lien on his property which will be another $175. It is stressful, I wish he would just return our money so we can all move on. I am happy for the brides and grooms whom had a successful wedding at this place. If only I had experienced the same, I would have probably been leaving a good review as well. I hate drama and that's why its taken a while to even leave a review. Because it upsets me and I don't want to feel that way.But this is getting ridiculous now. Alex, you need to return our money, the amount you took from us is too much to just let go. You were ordered by a judge to return our money! For anyone considering this place for their wedding, I would say read the contract very well. Also pray nothing goes wrong during the time leading up to your date because if you decide to cancel you probably won't be getting any of your money back, even if the contract says you will. read more

My fiance and I knew after our first meeting with Alex, the owner, that 34Events was THE place to have our dream wedding. During our initial consultation, Alex was incredibly understanding of our budget constraints and worked with us to help ensure we got everything we wanted without breaking the bank. Throughout the entire process he was very accommodating and responsive to our (numerous) questions and requests. The venue itself is so unique and a beautiful blank canvas to make of it whatever your heart desires. The exposed brick and hardwood floors give it an elegance that elevates the space to a level most other venues strive to reach. Alex wears many hats as he's also a photographer and part owner of the catering company they partner with, which works out in the bride and groom's favor. On our wedding day and leading up to it, Alex went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly and that our dream day happened as we envisioned it. As our photographer, he pushed himself to the brink of heat exhaustion on a sweltering June day to take incredible pictures of us at a nearby park. After the wedding, our friends and family raved about how much they enjoyed our photographer and that this was the best wedding they'd ever been to. The caterer he partners with made some delicious food to complement the entire event. Everyone loved it! Some Lessons Learned in Hindsight: 1. Be sure to get any concessions made in writing so everyone can refer back to exactly what was agreed upon months down the line or after the wedding day in case things don't go exactly as anticipated 2. Get your own wedding planner or day-of coordinator. We were offered assistance with day-of activities through the venue. Our "coordinator's" name was Glenna and she did not meet our expectations, which led to the bride and groom feeling additional stress and anxiety on their big day instead of being able to relax in the bridal suite before their big moment. Our disappointment with her was a combination of her inexperience with wedding planning and coordination and an apparent miscommunication of what she would and would not do between us and Alex. While we can't go back and change any of the little mishaps on our day, I'd hate for another bride to have these things happen to her. Get specific, written details about what the venue will and will not do for you and what you'll need to assign out to friends/family to handle on your behalf. I believe Alex has other day-of coordinators on staff but if you end up with Glenna, think of her more as a building coordinator there to unlock the building for vendors who are arriving and less of day-of coordinator there to ease your stress and take small tasks off your plate. 3. Come up with a plan for transportation for your guests. Parking around the venue is very limited. We're not entirely sure whether this impacted some of our guests feeling the need to leave earlier than necessary. 4. Meet with your servers and bartenders prior to the wedding day and be sure to set expectations about things like how and when tables will be set up, what kind of glassware will be used at the bar, and if they will be cutting/serving your cake how that will be done and what will happen to leftover cake at the end of the evening. Overall, we had a beautiful ceremony and reception and truly enjoyed working with Alex. I think he's a very smart and kind person and really cares about the people who rent his space. He takes feedback very well and applies it to future events. Unfortunately your big day cannot be done over so make sure you have every little detail covered with all your vendors so things go as perfectly as any big day can. read more

The owner is very easy to work with, and the entire event went very well. If you have a reception, gathering, event or any large production you don't want to try at your home, this is a great location to choose. read more

The service staff was fun and friendly, the catering was amazing, our guests had a blast with the photobooth and we loved working with Alex as our photographer. Hope was our day of coordinator and handled everything we threw her way. We couldn't have done it without her. The option for BYOB was awesome. There is so much that goes into a wedding behind the scenes and Alex, Hope and the rest of the 34 Events team took care of everything (ice, cocktail napkins, day of decor, I could go on and on). With the rustic (yet not over done) decor, the romantic ambience, and people helping; it was seriously the best part of the wedding. We held 200 comfortably in there having 2 bars, a dance floor, photo booth, and food buffet. Growing up in Plano, it made it special to be in downtown Plano in an historical building. Alex, the owner, was so accommodating, professional, and open to all our ideas. He made planning the reception easy by helping us with all the small things that no one thinks about. The reception would not have been as fabulous as it was without Hope, 34 Events' DOW coordinator. She went above and beyond in her creativity and her help with everything. Alex and his team are a group of amazing people! They all went above and beyond to make our wedding day very very special and so beautiful! From the very first day we met with Alex, we knew this was the perfect place for our day. Alex was always very professional and friendly, and made us feel very comfortable! He was always available and answered all of our questions promptly, although I know I was an annoying bride, he was always very kind and responsive! Alex and his venue comes with many optional vendors, which makes it very easy and stress free! Our venue package came with wedding photography, engagement shoot, catering, photo booth, tables/chairs, table ware, centerpieces, water/tea...etc. It's an amazing venue, and offers many things to make the planning easier! We had a big guest count, and once we had received our RSVPs and had and accurate number, Alex was able to accommodate to that, and made sure our pricing was fair even if our number of guest wasn't different than the one we started off with. I think for everything the venue came with, it was an amazing price!!! You don't even need a wedding coordinator because Alex and his team go above and beyond for you! We als had an amazing experience with Alex as our photographer! Highly recommend him as your wedding day photographer, and vendor for your venue!!! My husband and I were married at 34Events on September 23, 2017. From the moment we met Alex back in January, we knew this was the one and only place for us. From the start Alex was quick to respond, accommodating to any of our needs/ideas we had, and so great to work with. The best thing about 34Events is hard to pinpoint, but for me the all inclusive part was the best for us! They literally take care of everything! We just had to find our DJ, Photographer, Florist, and cake. They took care of set up, clean up, provided the linens, silverware, staff, etc. Alex has his own chef so no need for an outside caterer and the food is incredible! As we got towards the end of the planning we met with Hope, the day of coordinator and although I thought I could run the day on my own, I quickly realized I NEEDED her. She was so warm and accommodating and just someone you need to keep the crazy calm. :) My Husband and I couldn't have had a better wedding and experience and we owe a great deal of that to Alex and Hope. Attended a wedding at this venue on Saturday evening. The wedding and decor was beautifully done. However, the food and staff left a lot to be deserved. Food was given to you as though you were in prison, NO PRESENTATION, roast beef was undercooked, staff was minimal. Bartenders not engaging. No sugar, etc for tea on table. When we requested it, a lady (don't know her name) came by and threw packets on the table, very unprofessional. I don't think they were prepared for a wedding of this stature. Would certainly recommend you insure you and your guests get treated with grace, appreciation and professionalism. read more

We cannot say enough good things about 34 Events as a wedding venue. If you have yet to tour the venue, you must. It is the most amazing space with exposed brick and beautiful lighting. Since our wedding day, every discussion I've had with a wedding guest included them commenting three things - how beautiful the venue was, how amazing the food was, and how smoothly the day went. Let's talk about the food quick. At first we were nervous about using an in-house caterer but when we had our food tasting we honestly could not decide on which option to go with because they were all fantastic. It's really a toss up if I got more compliments on my wedding dress or our food, and believe me my wedding dress was beautiful. Food = 10/10. Also - if you are a bride and you don't want to have any stress at all on your wedding day - HIRE Hope (the day of wedding coordinator). Our cake didn't show up to our wedding until about 15 minutes before our ceremony and I didn't know any differently because Hope just handled it. She was a literal lifesaver. She fed our wedding party while we were getting ready, organized our ceremony, did all of the vendor contacts the week of the wedding, and most importantly she kept me calm. Without Hope I would have felt the wedding day stress and I honestly believe I was able to enjoy my day because she was there to handle everything. Working with Hope and Alex (owner) is a breeze. They are so accommodating and friendly and really care that your big day is everything you wish it to be. Believe me, that's hard to find in a wedding space around DFW.
