The only problem was that I got tied up talking to everyone and forgot to take pictures when the sun went down. I believe everyone had a great time and if i get another chance, i'll definitely do this again.

We planned our wedding from out of state and it was so much less stressful to work with a venue that manages many of the details (flatware, catering coordination, table decor, etc.). We opted to use them for floral and they were beautiful! Loved repurposing the aisle decor to tables too. Having a day of coordinator allowed me to enjoy my wedding day rather than work it! The staff is experienced and reliable. They have a process that streamlines planning and work with several vendors that will give you a special price and know the venue/team well enough to have a very smooth experience. The venue is beautiful, and I appreciated having several options to pivot to in the case of inclement weather. No regrets!! Thank you Heather and CCR team!

The staff was kind and very attentive! The venue itself was cute. The main space was huge, and can easily fit a large corporate event/wedding/private event. There is also a large outside area for outdoor ceremonies or parties. Outside of the main building, there is a pond in between the building and the parking lot. There were lots of critters and frogs screaming in my ear during the evening when the sun set.

We chose the full package with wedding coordinator, which I highly recommend! Tina was amazing, walking us through the entire process. She was very attentive and always answered our emails and phone calls promptly. One other thing we loved about Paradise Cove was the ability to choose our own vendors, unlike other places that force you to use there's. We were able to control our budget this way and still get the things we wanted. Tina was a wonderful resource to provide vendor info and help keep us on a planning timeline. They also provided almost everything we needed for the wedding & reception which saved a lot of time and money. All of the tables, chairs, table settings, dishes, silverware, many of the decorations were provided and set up by Tina and her team. We added a few touches of our own, which Tina happily put up as well so there was very little for us to do but focus on the bride and the bridal party. Contrary to another post, we knew exactly what we were expected to do to get our deposit back. It is written very plainly in the contract on what the family is responsible for. If you pick the full package it was very little cleanup (basically have enough catering staff and have them bus the tables and plan on having them there until the festivities are over). We received our deposit back within a week as promised. Definitely recommend Paradise Cove! The day of the wedding went very smoothly. Tina took care of all the details so the day was enjoyable and as stress free as possible! We had the wedding outdoors by the lake, nice and quiet in their little cove. The guests loved the venue and had nothing but positive things to say about our wonderful evening together, celebrating at the reception in their lovely indoor space.

The Alexander Mansion is a Dallas venue site owned and operated by the Dallas Woman's Forum. The…read morehistoric property used to be the home of a Dallas businessman with the last name of, you guessed it, Alexander! While there are places that need minor upkeep (tiles on the porch need replaced, floors sanded and re-stained, some walls repainted, etc), overall the place is in pretty good shape for a place that is well over a hundred years old. The nostalgia and granduer of the place makes for a nice backdrop for events, even with its blemishes. People rent this venue from the Dallas Woman's Forum for gatherings meetings, showers, weddings, dinners etc. One thing nice about it as a venue is that it has a private parking lot that appears to be large enough for the capacity of the Mansion. If you are considering renting it, please know that there is a particular caterer that has an exclusive for events serving food there, just in case that matters to you, as I know it might would be a factor in a decision if I was making it. Oine really cool fact about the mansion is that it has what is allegedly the very first shower in it that was in Dallas. I looked at it and was glad showers have gotten a lot less complicated over the years! Anyway, overall it is a lovely property and the city is fortunate that it is made available by the Dallas Woman's forum.

Now that my husband and I have settled into life together I can do this review. My mom did a review…read moresome time ago but this is from my perspective! When I came to Jupiter Garden for a tour back in March 2024. I felt like it was the right place. We looked at many places, but this place fit our budget. I worked with Amber Williams, who coordinated everything, with which I had a great experience. She was with me every step of the way in planning. She went out of her way to get me information on anything I asked about. My wedding date was set for October 12, 2024. Everything ran smoothly up until a week and a half before my date. I received a call from Terry Badmus (the owner) stating that they let her go, which I was disappointed about. It's a business, and things happen. What I didn't like was that it seemed that I had to start my contract from scratch. I had received a text saying that I had a remaining balance, but everything was paid in full months before. I had to have an additional meeting with the owner to go over my whole contract. During this meeting, I was told I didn't have enough servers, had to pay additional for that, and was told one of the rooms we had was an additional 800. We opted out due to that additional charge not being part of the budget, and we still had catering, photographers, and videographers to pay for. And he was a bit unprofessional when it came to Amber. I didn't appreciate his berating of her service provided when I had a wonderful experience with her. He had another young lady take over for Amber. The young lady's name is Hiqmah, and although very nice, she dressed unprofessionally for our first meeting with the owner for the final walk-through as well as on the day of my wedding. On the rehearsal/setup day, we had to unexpectedly share that time with another bride and her family. It was frustrating because it was my time, and we got double booked. On the wedding day, we ran into some issues with tables and chairs for my guests, but the staff worked well to fix the issues before the guests arrived. Overall, my wedding was a success! The wedding ceremony took place in the garden courtyard, and the reception was inside. Pros: Decorum is included, and you get to pick what you want; it's spacious and accommodating for up to 200 persons; you can bring in your own food and or catering; you can do any additional decorations you want; staff was friendly and accommodating; dressing rooms were nice but could use a slight update. Cons: no kitchen, fridge, etc.; not many restrooms for a lot of guests; restrooms need an update.

I ran around all night doing there "jobs" and couldn't find anyone who actually worked for the venue the entire evening after the reception started. You cannot trust these people with your money or belongings let alone family members.

No doubt about that…read more There was plenty of room for dancing, conversation, outside activities, buffet line, etc. My only complaint is that I was treated rudely by the staff when I tried to order a drink at the open bar. I did not know that it was past time for the bar to close; if they would have simply pointed that out, it would have been perfectly fine. Instead, I was told by one bartender that she would not serve me. I went to the next one, and the mother of the bride ordered my drink for me. The second bartender started making my drink and the first bartender made him pour it out. So weird. Meanwhile, she's making drinks for another guest. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. It was a strange, negative end to a beautiful day, however.

So here's how it works. The Castle at Rockwall is owned by Edible Ideas, and you MUST use their…read moresubsidiary, Beyond the Box Catering for your food. They are based out of Dallas, and you have to go to their office/ commissary in Dallas for your tasting. The onsite operations manager is Alfredo, and he is just fantastic. Helpful, knowledgeable, thoughtful and very responsive. The venue is beautiful, with lots of light, lots of space, and you pretty much have free reign to decorate how you wish. The food on the day of the wedding was delicious. The charcuterie table was like nothing I've seen...beautiful and made you eat with your eyes. But the journey to get there? Aye yi yi. The tasting was a disaster. My sister called me after crying that it was so bad they couldn't serve it to their guests and wanted a different caterer. We were told emphatically we couldn't. Her fiancée asked me if maybe they forgot they were coming and just pulled stuff from the fridge. They didn't feel that they were taken seriously when giving feedback about how bad the food was. The problem is that you have to work with Angela, the "Venue/Catering Manager" of the Castle. This is a problem for many reasons: 1) She has absolutely no understanding of food. Or catering, or pricing, or her venue. (She told us that they serve jumbo shrimp with fajitas, when in fact, they serve BAY shrimp, which is what you get in a 99 cent cocktail in Vegas, among the tons of other nonsensical information) 2) Almost every single question that was asked of her, she had to ask the chef, her boss (the owner, Doug), Alfredo the ops manager. You would think that after 25 years with this company, she would have a better understanding of this company and her venue 2) She will definitively tell you that she is not the wedding coordinator. (Not exactly sure what her role is.). She did NOTHING on the day of the event except hide in her office. 3) There was no follow up after the wedding with an invoice, receipt, "thank you for coming", "how was everything", etc In summary: This is a beautiful venue and the onsite staff are terrific. But if you are not a seasoned catering person, please hire someone who is, to do the planning with Angela.

I think the population is around 10 people or so. For those booking a hotel for an event here the closest locations are likely around Wylie. Best wishes to you. The venue is pretty and there's a water view as well. Parking is plentiful, some paved, some gravel, some covered and some not. It's a really pretty country setting out there.
