I was impressed by the water world inside this store with a truly magnificent tank by the register that had the coolest stingray swimming around. I was told that the owner, JP, has extensive knowledge about everything koi ponds and is a wonderful resource for advising on the installation and required equipment. I wasn't sure that koi would live in this hot desert environment but apparently they do just fine! Zen had a great selection of koi fish in multiple sizes and all the accoutrements to go with them. I have played at some that are just as decent for $15 for 9 holes and replay is $8. So for almost $50 plus $15 for a cart it is a little expensive for what you get. With that being said they are building a large pro shop / restraunt. Maybe thats the justification for the higher fees. The starter/marshall was friendly and knowledgeable. There were some teens and some that maybe should stick to the range a few more times before they come to a course. I should have to wait to tee off so that you can take your 3rd shot from the middle of my fairway and be pointed backwars back to your hole. All the holes are par 3, so its fairly quick. Took three of us about 2 hrs 20 min and thats with having to wait for a group in front of us to pick it up. The greens are decent and challenging. If you go in the middle of the day its not as busy. Our tee time was 4:40 and the course was pretty empty but as we finished the front 9 it was getting busy and by the time we finished the 18th it was packed. It was fun but for the price we can find PGA level courses closer to us.

We reserved four bowling lanes for the team and ordered pizza and drinks, which made it really easy to relax and enjoy the time together. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and the staff was very accommodating and laid-back throughout the whole event. They made everything feel easy and stress-free, which is always appreciated when you're coordinating a group of excited kids and parents. We never felt rushed and were able to take our time enjoying the afternoon. The girls had so much fun bowling, cheering each other on, and celebrating together. It was great to see them laughing and enjoying themselves after working so hard all season. The parents had a great time too--chatting, catching up, and celebrating the season alongside the girls. After bowling, many of the kids spent time in the arcade area. While it's not huge, there were plenty of games to keep them entertained and they had a lot of fun trying different things and competing with each other. Overall, it was a really fun and memorable way to wrap up the season. Between the bowling, the food, the arcade, and the relaxed atmosphere, it made for a great team celebration. We'd definitely consider doing another team event here in the future.

My latest trip to Indio garnered this visit to Fantasy Lanes not just once but twice. It has an old school alley feel and is very lively with lots of lanes. One of the visits was on a Saturday evening so it was a little crowded and we had a short wait. There also the option for laser bowling later in the evening which seemed popular with the kids. The lanes themselves were in pretty good shape as well as the seating areas. The only thing I had trouble with was finding lighter-weight balls. In all, this is great family entertainment for all ages and you can always visit the many restaurants and casino games before or after. That's a win in my book!

This is a great hike that is not very challenging but offers tremendous views of the Coachella…read moreValley and a very different geological perspective from the surrounding area. This hike was 80% sand pathways and 20% maneuvering through the slot canyons with a few switchbacks. I'd recommend this as a must do hike if you're in the area and have 90-120 minutes. It's approximately a 5 mile loop hike.
