I was referred to Simply Suits by a friend because they were running a promotion: buy six suits, get the seventh free. We have a wedding coming up, and I thought it would be a great deal for the groom and groomsmen. I reached out to Charles, and to be fair, he was very pleasant and thorough in explaining everything. I let him know that we're based in Arizona while he operates out of California. He assured me that distance wouldn't be an issue. It took me some time to gather all the measurements from our group, but once I did, Charles got the ball rolling. Communication was excellent--until we received the suits. Unfortunately, this is where everything went downhill--and why I'm leaving a 1-star review. We received the suits on May 27th, 2025. I had been recovering from the flu and wasn't able to try them on right away or coordinate fittings with the others. Once I felt better, I collected payments from everyone and Zelled Charles $180 per suit for six suits, plus shipping, on Friday, May 30th. That same evening, everyone finally had a chance to try on their suits for the first time. Right after sending the payment and trying on the suits, I let Charles know that several of them didn't fit properly. Some pants were far too large and long (for example, someone with a 32/30 size received a 40/34). Most blazers fit well, but a few were uncomfortably tight. Charles suggested getting them altered locally for an additional $20-$30, but we were expecting suits that were ready to wear. Everyone agreed they'd rather return the suits. As soon as I brought up the possibility of a return, Charles went completely silent. I've texted and called him multiple times over several days--with no response. I even reached out via Simply Suits Co's Instagram page (which publicly lists his number), but still haven't heard back. I was expecting great customer service and had high hopes based on all the 5-star reviews. Instead, I feel like I misled my groomsmen into thinking we got a great deal--only for all of us to end up stuck with ill-fitting suits and no support.

I was unable to return the vest before closing because they close at 6:00 p.m., so I brought it back on Tuesday and explained the situation. They still refused to return my $20 deposit. I understand having return policies, especially if I had rented an entire suit, but this was only one vest, and I did return it. What made the experience even more frustrating was the customer service. When I asked for the owner's name and contact information, I was told to call him at the office. When I asked for the office number, I was given the store's number. I then asked for the owner's name and was only told, "Chuck." The lack of understanding and customer service was very disappointing. After paying $40 to rent one vest, keeping my additional $20 deposit because it was returned late seems unreasonable. I will never rent a suit or anything else from this business again.

Eight years ago, my brother flew to LA from Boston specifically to come to this shop for two leather vests - the old man even helped him get measured up, custom made design. Eight years later, my turn. I took a Saturday drive out to the shop, located just east of downtown LA. Guess who was still there - Mr. Espinosa himself, still after all that time. I wanted a denim vest (old school) with leather trim/accents and found something off the rack. Fits perfectly, the first size he grabbed. Super happy with it, service was great and they have a ton of jackets and vests in stock, also tees, belts etc. Walk into biker history from the 1970s.
