Wrapping house.
Collin M.

This review is woefully late, unlike 3 Generations who showed up everyday on time, and ready to work. Our work was done in late 2019. We invited 3 crews to bid, Jeremy and crew made the best impression. Both the professionalism, and cost were winning factors. We elected to have plywood installed in areas where the builder had not, the entire home wrapped in Tyvek, R2 foil/foam insulation installed, and then the siding. We've noticed a HUGE difference in home comfort and energy usage during the hot summer. The subs for the rock work were efficient as well, and were on time. Start to finish, the job was about 2 weeks. I would strongly recommend them for your siding job.

After: Front with new siding, trim, and windows

3G is definitely not the cheapest siding and windows contractor, but if you want a job done right with excellent attention to detail, they are your vendor. We had our entire home's siding replaced along with a dozen or so leaky windows. We opted not to do patch work because there was significant damage and dry rot across the entire house, both externally and behind the siding. 3G had completed jobs for similar houses in our community, and they came highly recommended to me. 3G was responsive throughout the entire project, patiently taking the time to answers all of my (probably OCD!) questions in person, via phone, and even text, all before spending a dime. Once engaged, they managed the project very well in spite of COVID and delivered on everything they said they would. As an indicator of their integrity, they respected all of the original pricing (estimated in February 2020) for our project in spite of increased labor and material costs they had to absorb as a result of COVID delays and impacts. I'm now confident and comfortable that I will never have to worry about leaks through my siding and windows again, at least not for the next 30 years! 3G warrants their workmanship and materials and I feel fully confident they will not only survive this tough economic time, but respect and fix any issues that may arise.

My wife and I really wanted to paint our house that we bought several years ago. Upon looking around the house, there were several areas of dry rot that needed to be replaced. My father in law who is a retired contractor informed us it was thousand of dollars worth of work to be done prior to being able to paint. So went went on the hunt to find a company to replace the siding on the entire house. We had a couple of consultations from a few private contractors as well as Home Depot. 3Generations came to our house and did a walk around. The owner Kurt was very nice and professional. He printed out some areas we hadn't noticed and asked us what we wanted done. We ended up choosing to do siding (James Hardie fiber cement) gutters, inside window trim, a garage door and some reconfiguration of the front. After a few days, Kurt came back with the proposals and samples. They came in 35% lower than Home Depot, and did much more work. Total project took about 3 weeks to complete. Kurt's crew consisted of 3 guys, Eugene, Elija, and Mark. They were very professional and excellent craftsmen. The work that was done was beautiful. They transformed our house from the ugly ducking on the street to the beautiful swan that all our neighbors are jealous of. I would highly recommend 3G to anyone wanting to make the investment into beautifying their home.

California Energy Consultant Service

My experience with California Energy Consultant Service started with an insulation estimate from…read moreMitch. He was knowledgeable, straightforward, and took the time to explain the project and costs. We were getting quotes from several companies, so we hadn't made any decisions. What really stood out was that Phil, the owner, personally reached out that same evening to ask how the appointment went and whether our questions had been answered, regardless of whether we hired them. Coming from an HVAC sales background myself, that meant a lot to me. I've always appreciated family-owned businesses, and an owner who takes that kind of interest in a potential customer says something about how the company operates. Phil and I ended up talking about a roof replacement we were also planning. I'd already met with six roofing companies, but that conversation convinced me to get one more estimate. We ultimately hired California Energy for both the roof and insulation. What followed was a complicated project with multiple contractors working at our house, changing schedules, and a few unexpected problems. California Energy has been very accommodating throughout. Jamie, our project manager, deserves a tremendous amount of credit for coordinating everything. She's had to work around other trades, adjust schedules, and keep things moving while making sure our concerns were addressed. I know it hasn't been easy, and I genuinely appreciate the effort she's put into it. I've also had the opportunity to work briefly with Tony, another project manager, who has been incredibly responsive, helpful, and willing to step in whenever needed. John and Oscar, who handled the roofing work, have been excellent. They've been professional, attentive to details, and willing to follow through on questions or concerns. I genuinely have no complaints about my experience working with either of them. The roof is now complete, and the old attic insulation has been removed. We're waiting to blow in the new insulation until some electrical work is finished, with a few minor items still to wrap up. I also want to give Jose a special shout-out. While working at our home, he noticed an existing issue with our HVAC system that could have become a very expensive problem. Instead of simply pointing it out and moving on, he advocated for us, communicated with our existing HVAC contractor, and helped get the issue thoroughly investigated. That ultimately led to the discovery that our two-year-old rooftop HVAC unit was defective, and our HVAC company is now replacing it. Jose could have easily considered that someone else's problem, but he didn't. We're extremely grateful for his attention to detail and persistence. Thank you, Jose! Not everything has gone perfectly, but with a project of this size, I don't expect it to. What matters to me is how a company responds when legitimate concerns come up. In my experience, California Energy has listened, communicated, and worked to make things right rather than brushing us off. That speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. One thing that really stands out to me is how many employees I can name: Mitch, Phil, Jamie, Tony, John, Oscar, and Jose. Each has made a genuine impression and contributed to helping us navigate what has been a challenging few months of home projects. I think that says a lot about the people this company employs and the relationships they build with their customers. That kind of personal connection and accountability is becoming harder to find, and it's something I truly appreciate. We still have the insulation installation and a few finishing touches ahead of us, and I plan to update this review once everything is officially completed. Obviously, I can't speak to what their customer service will look like years down the road, but based on everything we've experienced so far, California Energy Consultant Service has earned an A+ from me. Phil has set a strong example as an owner, and his team has backed it up. From the initial estimate to managing a constantly evolving project, everyone involved has played a meaningful role in making this experience a positive one. I'm grateful we chose California Energy and appreciate everything their team has done for our family and our home.

The positives: Great communication, Alonso, Omar and Oscar…read morewere very attentive to detail and spent a lot of time making sure the end product of the windows and new trim is excellent. The negatives: a broken sprinkler, poor communication about permitting. Overall, we are very happy with the windows themselves. I wish the other details had been a little better, but big picture is that we are happy with the three contractors who spent all day in the sun and yet just powered through, not sacrificing quality work. Communication improved later, and we can already tell that these windows are better at keeping heat out than the old ones.

We want you to know we highly rate ALL of you at ALL levels especially Chad LaMantain your Sales…read moreRepresentative that was sent out. Chad was very easy to speak with about what we were interested in and why and also was respectful about what we weren't interested in. We felt he was open and honest with us and it made it easy for us to select what was best suited for us and our home. He did an EXCELLENT job of representing your product and company to the point we did not even get a 2nd bid we felt we could move forward with Northwest Exteriors Inc for our new home windows. The financing offered too was a real plus. We have found that in todays world its very difficult to get HONEST help and to have others in your home for extended periods of time but we felt that Sean the measurement person and the installation guys Tim and Mitch too were all very professional and business like. We also seldom recommend anyone because we have found that either the contract isn't honored or the quality of the workmanship or product is less than desirable but we again found thus far at ALL levels of Northwest Exteriors Inc. it was a pleasure to do business with your company and we would highly recommend you to anyone that needed windows etc...etc... We hope you maintain your HIGH STANDARDS because in the future we may need new siding and your sign still remains in our front yard because we are so happy with our new home windows. Your office staff both Ashley and Monique also were easy to communicate with and were on top of their jobs too. Thank you so much and we wish you ALL the very best at Northwest Exteriors Inc., Anne and Joe B

We had all the window companies give us bids - Brothers,Window World,a few glass replacement…read morecompanies (definitely do not recommend those ones!) Bryan was our salesman and he provided a very competitive bid. We also preferred Anlin windows over the other companies. Btw, make sure if you're replacing just the glass know that it will NOT match your other windows (due to title 24)
