This 2 star review is to make you all aware of their giving one additional free class (on top of the first free class) to whoever posts 5 star reviews. Is it treating or not, it is your call. I just feel very unease after I saw that sign in their restroom. Because many 5 star reviews were the reason we drove all the way 50' in traffic to try the class. I am not one to normally write reviews but 3-2-1 Acting studios deserves every praise! I signed my 8 year old daughter up for a trial class not even really sure it would be a good fit. She was shy, and very timid around strangers but I was trying to find an activity that would be good for her since sports were not her thing. After 1 class my daughter had a huge smile on her face and couldn't wait to come back. The staff were are extremely welcoming and special. Ms. Mae is just incredible and always makes each of the kids feel special and takes time to get to know them. My favorite part is how Ms. Mae not only teaches them acting skills but life skills as well. My daughter was chosen for their showcase class and it has been such an amazing experience for her and for me to watch her blossom and her confidence grow! I was a bit concerned when the safer at home order was put in place since I wasn't sure how it would work, but 3-2-1 made the transition extremely easy and my daughter looks forward to her zoom classes twice a week! My little boy started at 321 the end of January just after turning 4 years old. He absolutely loved the classes. He was quickly accepted into the showcase program and just completed it a couple weeks ago. Within a couple days after the agent showcase, he received 3 separate offers, all from great agencies. He has now signed with one of the top agencies in LA and we couldn't have ask for it to work out any better. We love his new agent. Ms. Mae is so involved in making sure each kid has the best chance of success. They never pushed too hard or made it seem like anything but fun. Sure, Ms. Mae doesn't stop working with the showcase students until they get an agent, and their classes prepare the students to work in the industry and book jobs. (That's why so many of the kids are booking a job each week.) But 3-2-1 prepares it's students for so much more. Not only is there a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere at the studio, but the teachers and Ms. Mae place a high focus on helping kids learn to work with one another, be polite, take direction, and have fun. The kids and teens I've had classes with at the studio are not only confident but kind and considerate. What do you know, well behaved kids book acting jobs! 3-2-1 just has such a positive environment. It's a school every child should go to because it teaches important life skills and helps kids academically. (Because reading, memorizing, and public speaking are essential to each class, the students improve these skills and learn how important reading really is.) As a young adult at the studio, I have also had a phenomenal experience. I have taken/am taking the following classes: * TV1 Commercial and Television Hosting: I learned how to break down a commercial to book a job, how to talk to the camera, commercial techniques, how to audition for a commercial, how to slate, and how to bring my personality and energy to a commercial audition. The teacher--Will Doughty from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno--has booked a lot of national commercials and knows what he is talking about. I can see during the playback after each class how much I am improving. * TV2 Television and Film Scene Study: I learned how to break down a scene, prepare myself before a scene, how to deliver a cold reading, the ins and outs of auditioning for television work, techniques to further develop my performance, and how to really connect with my scene partner. I have improved so much since I started at this studio. It feels good! * Acting Foundations and Monologues: In this class, I learned so much about preparing for a monologue, how to deliver a monologue, and how to really connect with my work. * Improv Comedy: This class was really fun, and it really helped me to improve in my acting. I learned to think on my feet, expect the unexpected, stay in the moment, and be funny. So essential for good acting! And did I mention, it was so fun? * Showcase Class: I'm in this class right now. So far, I have learned all about acting careers, how to get started, posing for head shots, how to write an acting resume and cover letter, audition techniques, how to meet with an agent... everything I need to know to get started. We first met Ms. Mae back in 2011. My two kids started their acting classes with her and after their Talent Showcase with agents they signed with top notch agencies and immediately started to work. Since then I recommended 4 other kids and each of the 4 have all signed with agencies after the showcase. That's 6 for 6 that signed! I live in Hollywood, and there are tons of acting schools around here. However, I drive my son all the way to La Crescenta to attend 3-2-1 Acting Studios because they're worth the effort. I'm not just referring to the quality of their instruction and instructors (they have a wall full of their students' photos who've landed acting jobs), but their staff is exemplary as well. For example, my son had an online audition (due to the current pandemic), and 3-2-1's staff helped me with video feedback and suggestions on how to set up the camera angles and lighting to spiff up the scene--without even charging me!
