I just wanted to share my lovely experience at this cozy, clean, unassuming nail salon that I visited a few weeks ago. It's owned by a hardworking and genuine Vietnamese couple who truly care about serving their community and bringing smiles to everyone who walks in. I had the pleasure of getting my nails done by the female owner (i can't remember her name). She was so welcoming and kind from the start, and really took her time to make sure I got the exact nail length I wanted, was incredibly gentle, and even painted a few different shades of yellow directly on my nails to help me choose the perfect color. She's also amazing at nail art, has great attention to detail, and has a light touch. Mad sh*t talking here. After everything I said or did, ehe would talk in Vietnamese to the other tech and they would look at me. I wasn't too fond of the way the nail tech cut my nails, kind if felt half assed. She would cut one side too much and not the other, the filing was lazy. I lost faith and will just wait for my nails to grow back. Also I just got a simple manicure, kept asking why not gel and that regular manicure won't last. I felt this was unnecessary and I already know. I am usually nice to people in customer service industry because I have been there do I didn't say much and just let her do whatever. I have been coming here for almost two years and always take the opportunity to rave about them. Mary is my go-to nail tech. I always go to her for fills and designs. Her technique was great when I first met her and she has only gotten better! Her and Kevin are amazing at what they do. As much as I loved this place, when I got the nail powder dip it was great. I went there for 3 times at least and got the dip powder. The 4th time the owner suggested I get gel to last even longer but they lasted one week when I was getting the dip they lasted for at least 2 weeks and my nails grew. read more

I recently went in to get a pedicure and I had asked for a deluxe pedicure with gel french tips in light blue with blueberry theme. I will insert an image of my reference picture below. I sat down in the chair and I noticed that the techs appeared to be reusing gloves (i am only saying this because they were inside out and they were turning them the correct way prior to putting them on). That made me a bit nervous but I trusted that they would do their best to keep their clients safe. My pedicure started and then I overheard the manager talking about their "hard gel" services and I really wanted to try it out at their salon because I've done hard gel at other salons previously and I loved it. So I had asked if I could add on a hard gel manicure. I was very excited because I was going to have a fresh set for my best friend's baby shower later that afternoon. I had spent a long time growing out my nails which has been a very difficult and tedious process for me. I have also spent a great deal of time taking care of my toe nails so that they do not get too long or ingrown. I hadn't touched my toe nails or finger nails in about a month in anticipation of getting a new set professionally done, so I wanted to be sure there was a good foundation. My pedicure was going well when my manicure was started simultaneously. I previously had hard gel on my nails and the tech placed the soak off with acetone and tried taking it off almost immediately and drilling down the gel in between and placing the cotton with acetone on the nail beds, causing my nails to burn and become sensitive and super thin after I worked so hard to grow them out (which has never happened to me during a salon manicure). This made me very sad and I let the tech know but she proceeded to drill instead of just waiting a few more minutes for the gel to soften. When it came to the filing, I had to keep asking for corrections throughout the entire process and I felt terrible because I am normally never one to complain but the mistakes were excessive. My nails were extremely uneven and I brought this to her attention and she said that it had already been "taking too long" which confused me because I thought I was paying for the service so I would have liked to not be rushed. She did not end up fixing the shape and the designs were half assed. :( They charged $10 extra for french tip and $2 for each design but I definitely do not think this was worth an extra $12, I used to do my own nails and I rarely ever go to salons so I was excited to treat myself. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed in the service. I had to ask for several corrections throughout the manicure and at one point I just got tired of pointing things out and having nothing done about it. When it came to the hard gel application, I was waiting for it to happen and it did not. The tech was just applying layers and layers and layers of this clear gel coat and then proceeded to paint over it, which is definitely not hard gel. The tech also began to rush toward the middle of the service when everyone else went on what seemed to be a lunch break, and she cut one of my fingers really bad and it's still in immense pain 3 days later. I also ended up getting THREE toe nail infections from the pedicure. I did not have any pain or ingrown toe nails before this pedicure and 3 days later it hurts to even put on my shoes for work, and I'm a nurse, so I walk around A LOT and require close-toed shoes. At the end of the service, I ended up showing the manager the cut on my finger and he sprayed it with alcohol to "clean" it and sent me on my way. He even closely examined the nails and said they were "cute" but I feel like he saw that they were bad and just didn't want to say anything. I felt guilty asking for a discount but I don't think I should have had to. All in all I was not going to complain but considering the infections, the cut on my finger, and the fact that I walked in with enough length and thickness for my original design that I requested, i'm very disappointed with this salon, its cleanliness, and the tech's willingness to make corrections that I am paying hard-earned money for. I literally walked out and started crying because I had no words but i'm not sure why I felt so guilty speaking up for myself since I was charged $120 for this. Anyway, I REALLYYY hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. it literally ruined my whole day :( update: it is now 4 days later and there is now PUSS leaking out from how infected my toe got i am in so much pain side note: i appreciate the offer from the owner but i went to the doctor because of how much pain i was in and they put me on an anti fungal cream and said I shouldn't get another pedicure for at least two months until this heals :( even then i'm afraid to go back and im sure it's too late for a refund. read more

Kevin is the highlight of this establishment, you can tell he truly cares about the customers. Unfortunately his team, did not deliver when it came to service delivered. I got a pedicure and my favorite part of a pedicure like almost everyone is the massage. I paid for a deluxe pedicure, specifically looking forward to the massage, which is the most relaxing part of the experience. However, the technician only rubbed lotion on my legs and that is all, she did not massage my legs nor even touch my feet once. If massage isn't actually included, it shouldn't be advertised a part of pedicure services. I also had to ask to for her to use the pumice stone on the rest of my feet not just my heels. The vibe is welcoming and Kevin is very kind but unfortunately the technicians need to work on the delivery of a service. I wish I would've gone somewhere else but came due to the reviews. read more

First time here but it won't be my last. I went with my mom who is Spanish speaking and Kevin greeting us with a warm Spanish welcome. He explained to us all the different options and took us in right away. We got there just about 40 min before they closed and they acted like it was noon. No rush whatsoever. I arrived at the nail salon at 5:50pm for a pedicure, and was glad I made it in time because the sign, online, everywhere says they close at 7pm. There was 1 other customer inside so I figured it would be a nice visit, as they weren't rushing to serve a bunch of customers. As the lady is working on my feet (around 6:05), Kevin, who I'm assuming is the owner, asks if I can pay ahead of time because his daughter wants to see a movie at 6:45pm in Laverne, and he's going to need about 20 minutes to drive there. I oblige, but ask if I can sign the receipt and tip at the end. He says, No. So, the lady is rushing through my pedicure, and the spa portion takes a matter of 2 minutes. Then, she finishes my nails and I'm sitting waiting for them to dry for about 3-5 minutes before they're trying to close up. I asked the lady if they were dry before she put the sandals on, and she said no, they needed around 30 minutes to dry. So, I had to walk out the salon with wet nails and sit in my car at night, in not the nicest area in Montclair, waiting for my nails to dry so I didn't mess them up while driving. Also, the nail polishes were covered in dust. The only reason for the two stars is because the lady who did my nails did a good job under the time constraints she was forced to work with. I go here with my wife for pedicure every now and then. The place is nicely kept! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Kevin is such a nice guy and loves to talk to clients and makes sure everything is okay and comfortable. Kings and queen treatment for pedicure comes with some wine!!
