The guy who runs the place is fairly nice but seems somewhat shady and disorganized. Giving the place two stars only because of the fairly impressive collection of retro electronics inventory he has (vinyl to Nintendo games).
He gave me a fairly good deal on an old broken record player, but that's about where the deals stop. I'm not sure where he sources his inventory, but much of it has other resale store stickers on it. I have a strong feeling he poaches other resale shops (or skims off the top via an inside man- grabbing potentially lucrative merch post donation but pre shelving), then eBays what they are selling for, and tacks 20% or so on.
The only prices on the vinyl are old resale store stickers, and he individually googles them at the counter and comes up with a price. One old record he priced as 10 dollars more than a brand new one would cost online (20 dollars more than a used one would cost online). Two can play this googling game, friend.
While I was browsing vinyl (mostly for ideas to later order online myself), he had three different altercations with angry customers, one of which demanded he give her back her damaged phones so she could just go fix it herself. Also when I asked one of the nearby stores for directions to the place I was warned that he was very sketchy and that his hours seldom represent when he is actually there. Probably be a good idea to call ahead if you're making a trip.
In summary, mostly a nice guy with an impressive and rare collection of antique electronics, but his business model of leaching off of actual resale shops to run his own at exorbitant prices kind of rubs me the wrong way. read more
