I like the location and I like the fact that it's close to many of the things to do in the tony side of Long Beach along the shore, being in close proximity to the Ballast Point tasting room and restaurant and the rest of the marina, Naples, and Belmont Shores down the street. However, I'm actually dreading having to park here, especially in the near term. The handful of times that I've been here, I've either: - Taken an Uber. - Managed to get a free spot outside. I know this is time-sensitive and won't last long, as it is dependent on the activation of all the retailers, restaurants and tenants. - Carpooled with someone who has a disabled placard and was able to get some primo parking that way. These options above have resulted in "free parking." But, unlike our favorite Monopoly space, there's no such thing in most higher density LA shopping centers, and eventually, if not already, the parking structures (yes, there are two--located on either end of the rectangular-shaped center) will start charging for parking and probably at a rate that could be punitive to the average consumer. Though the developer is the same as the folks who brought us the popular Pacific City in nearby Huntington Beach, the footprint of 2nd & PCH is smaller, and a street runs through the spine of the center. There are similarities, however, in the architectural design and the tenant portfolio as their larger Huntington Beach location (for example, Ola's Mexican Cantina and Restaurant and several others). What does stand out is a big, brand new Whole Foods anchoring down one end, and for me personally: the closest Shake Shack to my home (though probably the smallest one I've been to). I'm sure to pay my respects to both establishments each time I visit. If you haven't already, be sure to visit probably the nicest restroom lounge you'll ever see. Only the Rick Caruso centers (The Grove in LA, and the Americana in Glendale) can hold a candle to this pleasantly enjoyable restroom experience here. Some constructive suggestions: - Entertainment and live music should be featured at the small stage at the base of the stairway and featured all around the center. - Having a proper food hall would draw in foodies and Yelpers. - A shuttle service to and from the nearby Ballast Point brewery. And Ballast Point will pay for it! - And while it's not too late to make this adjustment, I believe the communal central area with the fire pits and free standing vendors/restaurants would benefit from, and attract more adults, if the developers would encourage a nice outdoor bar and lounge, serving, say Ballast Point beers or at least leased by them. It's an easy and obvious collab and "low hanging fruit," as one is want to say in business schools around the world. read more

Meh. I was REALLY excited to come and finally check this place out. We've been watching its progress for years now. We were sooo disappointed. We wont be back till it fills out. Free parking.. who cares, it should be because there is really no reason to go there. Few thoughts. 1. Sucky layout. -no beer/wine garden or vendor? Bummer. -you have a parking lot on top facing the harbor which is why people come here to hang!! The view. -the whole foods roof top parking lot seriously has the best Insta view of the place! Put a beer garden up here folks!! Would give Ballast a good run for their money. -weird chill spaces that we sort of dark, cold. 2. traffic running through the mall in the middle.. really?? Why? Why wasnt this layout like Pacific City? This place is not pedestrian friendly. So dangerous for kids, pets, peeps staring at their phones not paying attention. 3. Weird High end stores (ok so you have lululemon and nike.. etc.. no cookie, cupcake place boo! and just a few restaurants. Ola has a cool patio but wow to find the entrance you need your gps. -no escalator?? Yes just lots of stairs peeps. Very limiting to folks who have limited mobility like my mom.- -hard to tell where anything is and the digital directory is lame. -just put a pix of where things are and how to get IN. -weird some doors are facing outward, some sideways, no cool foodhall like Pacific City has. -coffee shop?? Hard to find that bad boy.. in a weird spot. 4. The whole foods sucks. The to-go and deli area is soo sad. The old location had a nicer food case with fresher looking food. -even the produce area looks lack luster. That was once whole foods calling card! Produce porn.. -This location is like a spread out version of the sad mini whole foods "express" like the one at LBX. -the packaged food here looks like the stuff you get at LAX Terminal 7. -You ask yourself how long as this been here and how much is this gonna set me back for "meh" food. Guess thats what happens when Amazon takes over. I was totally expecting the food area to be like the Huntington Beach location. HB has an amazing ready food whole foods. I would still drive 30min to go to HB vs this "new" place in Seal. We were all super underwhelmed and bummed out. We were hoping this would be our new place to hang... not the case. We will continue to go to LBX. That place has way more to do, see, eat including helping local businesses thrive. read more

I absolutely love 2nd & PCH, especially on a Sunday afternoon with the farmer's market across the street. During the holiday season, we frequented the Amazon 4-star store for gift ideas. Whole Foods is a convenient stop for groceries on your way out. And of course Sephora is always a fun visit! :) It's beautifully decorated, and there's lots of great food options - Shake Shack, Urban Plates, Noble Bird, Olas (Mexican) and Otosan (sushi), Ample Hills (ice cream). I've seen signs for more opening up soon - Tocaya Organica and a fried chicken place, yum! Can't wait to come back and try the new restaurants! The best part is that everyone can grab whatever food they want and sit in the outdoor seating in the courtyard. And there's free EV charging for 2 hours! read more

I absolutely love this outdoor mall! It took forever to build, but when it finally was done, I was super excited. Parking was free for awhile and now it's free for the first 90 minutes and after that, you'll need a validation from whichever store or restaurant you went to. Just the Whole Foods itself is super huge and has a bar that also has food and outdoor seating! Before COVID, they even had live music. I've never seen a grocery store with live music, so definitely different and super cool! I can give this outdoor a mall 5 stars just for finally having a lululemon store in Long Beach aka my favorite clothing store haha. There's other clothing stores, nail salon, amazing 4 star store, beauty store, workout companies. and other fast food and normal restaurants. Ola Mexican Kitchen and the new Bungalow Kitchen have the best view of the ocean in this mall. They also have outdoor movie nights on weekends and outdoor seating in the middle of the mall. I hope these stores, salon, workout places, and restaurants are able to stay afloat because I love all of it. Definitely my favorite place even just to walk around. One last thing, they have free WiFi for those who want to do their work outside their home. read more

This place is our new favorite Sunday fun day to go to! Once a month, they have Creative Communal happening where different small shops do a pop up. My family and I love being outdoors and this is a perfect place to hang out. On Sundays, there is also a farmers market across the street. There's just so much to do. For food, we love grabbing food from Whole Foods as their food are always fresh. We also enjoy eating at Urban Plates, grabbing a drink from Boba Guys, browsing at Amazon and just walking around. We've been to the Bungalow Kitchen on the second floor--must try! There's more food spots in the area and we look forward to trying them all. Parking can get tough. Just be patient. There's more levels on the structures but we often park by Whole Foods. It's free for the first 90mins and you can get validation. There's also free charging stations which we love! I know this place is fairly new but during the holidays, they put up pretty nice decorations as well as a huge Christmas tree! A very neat and tidy shopping center located in Long Beach, I don't recognize a lot of brands here, but they seems to have enough from dining to grocery to clothing and more. It seems a little upscale and sophisticated too, I bet this is the spot for the wealthy people to hang, they charge for parking, but you could still get away with the first 90 mins, also I saw parking structure by the water in the back. Not sure if they're free or not, according to some reviews they might be, the traffic getting here might facing some issues as they shut down some paths for the Xmas decorations and also some constructions as well, so shoppers be aware of that. read more

2.5 / 3 stars. I went for the first time on Valentine's Day (Friday) during the midday time. I love the modern, fun style of this little shopping area, the colorful statue, and the abundance of seating! However, the size of it all is too small for me because I live far and if I'm driving far, it needs to be worth going to. I, unfortunately, can't drive 1.5 - 3 hours each way in horrendous traffic (that's getting worse and worse) just to stroll a place that I can walk through in 20 - 30 minutes. Sure, it's pleasant while I'm there though. But, I never liked shopping areas where cars can drive through it. I wish they had constructed it like Pacific City farther down PCH or Fashion Island, for example. I like the selection of dining and the Whole Foods is very nice. The clothing needs more than all these fitness clothing places. I realize their desire for the promotion of good health, being in shape by the beach, and all, but I want more variety of clothing! I guess when I'm in the mood, for it to be worth going to, I'll have to go here, then Pacific City farther along the coast (which is unfortunately even tinier), and then a third place along the way, etc. Then I would have had a fun HALF a day! I'm glad the parking is free for the first 90 minutes WITHOUT validation. read more

Ok, seriously lost parking ticket was a major hassle. Who would want to pay$30. The poor attendant was unable to help, had to back up, causing 3 other vehicles to back up. Cute and clean. Parking on weekends is difficult. I love the Whole Foods here. There is plenty of tables for outdoor dining. People bring their dogs so just fyi. We love pup watching but I know some people don't like dogs lounging around where they shop and eat. There's an Amazon store if you need to return something but the line is usually long. We like the boba place, they have really good strawberry matcha and Korean banana milk boba teas. The ice cream parlor is also a nice treat after dining. The plaza also has a Shake Shack and Gorjana jewelry shop. I spend at least 3 to 4 hours here each visit! read more

Review is strictly for the parking situation. I find it frustrating to want to have dinner and shop around here, spend $300 on dinner and another couple hundred in the shops and no one offers a legit validation. Sure 90 mins is free, but If they're trying to get people to come in and spend time at the stores and restaurants with their families, it's a scam to not offer parking or at least a timely validation to cover a meal and shopping time. Let alone, making these shops pay outrageous fees just to be able to offer validation is wrong on the management company or whoever controls that. We want the shops and restaurants to be a successful part of this community, but a money grab on the parking is not right. read more

Must love dogs. I saw too many irresponsible dog owners let their dogs piss WHEREVER including on the fake grass area where tons of small children were running around, rolling in the grass, barefoot, etc. I stepped over a trickle of what I assume was dog pee as I crossed through the eating area; the dog and owner were sitting beside it. One slightly better owner at least let hers go in the plants near the outside. It's disgusting. They have a good parent area including a lactation room and accessible baby changing stations easy for both mom AND dad, and a family bathroom. The elevators in the parking lot open on both sides but you don't know which door will open, so hope your kids don't dart out and give you a heart attack like mine did. read more

Having spent many years working in the LBC, it's great to see such an awesome addition here! Reminds me of when they started building more modern plazas in HB and ELS with similar open air layouts and high-end stores. 2nd and PCH is especially great because they have some unique stores, such as a Peloton or Nike, which you don't find very often. Nonetheless, the stores are definitely geared towards the wealthy, but thankfully, the restaurants are a bit more affordable for us normal folks. I primarily came here for the Boba Guys, but would be interested in visiting the Shake Shack or some of the other casual eateries, as they all seem really appealing! The open air layout is really great, as there are plenty of spaces to just lounge around and the facilities are super clean. I will definitely be back to explore some more the next time I'm in the area, but beware that parking can get pricey if you stay awhile! read more

I should've checked Yelp before checking this place out. Today is 2/29, not 3/1, and parking was definitely NOT FREE after 90 minutes. It's $2 per 20 minutes and the vendors DO NOT offer validation. We spent about 3.5 hours there and had to pay $12! Definitely not worth the drive when there are better options in OC with free parking! All of the stores here are wonderful. Its friendly for everyone, from children to people in wheelchairs. The reason it gets one star is the parking. The first 90 minutes of parking are free, and after that, it costs $2/20 minutes. If you get parking validation, you don't have to pay. They claim that you can get validation from the stores, but only one store bought the machine necessary, and they're closed on Monday. The machine costs $5000 to buy, and another $1000 every month to keep it running, so almost nobody has one. The parking validation is a complete scam. I would NOT recommend going here if you're worried about the money, unless you can hurry and get in and out quickly. Otherwise, the stores inside are wonderful. read more

Ok so that parking is a bit odd. Dined at a restaurant. 3 hrs later I pay $12 for parking and the gate did not require a ticket. My friend paid nothing and the gate did not require a ticket either. How do I get my $12 back? 2nd & PCH is ok. Better than the old run down hotel. Traffic is a challenge around the area. Restaurants are ok - not especially great - but hopefully will find their stride. Update: yup $12 for parking that the businesses should validate for. Feel sort off gouged especially after spend $300 on dinner and it was mediocre. I'll stick to the real 2nd street where restaurants seem a bit better and you don't have to pay a parking penalty. Funny thing - the lot was mostly empty and so were the restaurants on a Thursday! Too many good places in LB to waste time here. read more

2nd and PCH is the WORST planning and an eye sore on LBC. It ruined the lovely view of the Marina from PCH, and has created parking challenges. I did give it a try but was disgusted with my whole experience. Here are the NUMEROUS EGREGIOUS ERRORS 1. PAID PARKING. No one wants to pay for parking or have to get some stupid ticket which slows down getting in and out of the prison like structure. Even though parking is free till March. It is still a major hassle. 2. The structure feels like a prison! So ugly. Entering Whole Foods from the oppressive looking parking garage is a pain. All the loading trucks also block exits. Making it super hard during peak times to get in and out. 3. WHOLE FOODS: Went completely down hill since the Amazon by out and moving from their old location. Can't find any of the products I used to get, and everything is way over priced when I can get the same items sometimes for 3 dollars less or more at Lazy Acres or Mothers. The food court looks and feels like a hospital cafeteria. Depressing. The aisles are mislabeled for example two aisles are labeled water. The attendants don't know where things are either. Ridiculous waste of time. Many of the tinctures I used to get went up the 15 dollars when I can get the same brand for 9 at Lazy Acres. 4. URBAN PLATES: Ugly looking on PCH traffic and mediocre food. Nothing but hype. Also vegan options are bland, and friends reported meat dishes are dry. 5. SEPHORA. asked for a cologne that wis well known, attendnat couldn't find it.. When I found it later the employees ad such an attitude I left. 6. The sitting area courtyard feels so trailer trash. Not elegant like Fashion Island but modeled after that other monstrosity Pacific City in HB which I also detest. 7. Worst city planning ever. Since PCH and 2nd went up there are traffic jams, difficult maneuvering in and out and blocked view of the Marina. 8. NOBLE BIRD? Seriously? Like there is nothing NOBLE about eating animal carcass. I'll pass. 9. Hungry Angela is some of the most bland food I ever ate. Terrible. My suggestion demolish this ugly prison and make an open air mall with fountains and a boardwalk by the Marina so people can relax and see the boats. And REAL FOOD and elegant architecture instead of dumbing down to the GEN Z crowds. SHAME ON LBC read more

I wanted to visit 2nd & PCH since the moment I saw it was being built. I FINALLY made it there about a month ago with specific intentions to go to Shake Shack! The parking garage was nice and spacious, the atmosphere was modern and nice. It was late and almost everything was closed, but I'm excited to go back and hang out in that area because it's so nice. The common area seating is great. Some areas even have the cutest egg shaped chairs that are on their own swing. I want to head back over there soon to check out the Whole Foods and other restaurants there. The Shake Shack was amazing and everything was so organized and extra clean because of COVID. This place has a lot of potential to be a great hangout spot for shopping, eating, and hanging out. read more

I haven't been to long beach in very long time and found out this mall opened up so I took a trip to check it out. I loved what they did with the space. Although it isn't too big, it's a perfect size mall with a lot of dining and shops. There's a grass area and a bunch of tables and outdoor seating options available for people to sit outside. I couldn't decide where to eat because they had so many restaurant options that looked good. As for shopping, they have a wide variety of clothing shops (Lululemon, Nike, Madewell, etc). This place is amazing! I love the ambiance and all the great places to sit and work on my laptop while my kids eat lunch and my wife shops at Whole Foods. Great place to work on your tan with strong WiFi and great stores to shop and yummy food! And I love being able to charge my BMW X5 E40 with plenty of chargers to go around. They keep this place impeccably clean and everyone wears masks making it easy to social distance. I'll be frequenting this place often with the wife & kids! read more

Not worth it. Parking is a scam. If you are coming here for quick grocery shopping or to come to a specific store/quick work out, you're fine. Other than that, this place is a scam with their parking. This is not a mall you "stroll" and "browse" at. If you want to have a nice meal, enjoy the views, then shop around you will have to fit all of that into 90minutes. None of the shops or restaurants validate. After 90minutes, you will be paying for parking in addition to the money you spent in the mall. The management/parking management is scamming people out of money at this point There are MANY places along Long Beach and the OC area that offer the SAME stores or similar with free parking. This is the strangest mall. Open air and cars actually drive through the center. There are no real walkways in from the street and very dangerous to cross the street on Marina drive. now they're charging to park over 90 minutes and on the rooftop u have to get out of the car to even read the screen for the charge. On the upside ive tried Urban Plates and Ola both great. Bar at Whole Foods? Couches invite bouncing screaming kids and bar staff is mostly young and service poor. Foods great but we dont go any more. Much prefer the bar at Gelsons. More of a neighborhood atmosphere. read more

I really love coming to this center and want to give it 5 stars. The merchants are all very friendly, it's got great views and atmosphere is great BUT.. over the last two months every time I go to restroom or family room to change my baby it's filled with homeless and the staff don't seem to want to remove them. Yesterday we decided just to leave and change baby in car because there was a couple just hanging out by themselves in the family area with the doors closed; we tools cleaning staff but they didn't seem to want to call security. It's unfortunate that the homeless seem to have found a nice place to hangout that's suppose to be for children, families and customers. read more

We went to 2nd & PCH on our way down to the OC from the South Bay. My husband had driven by and saw a "now open" sign a few weeks back, so he wanted to check it out. He said it was built by the same developers as Pacific City in Huntington Beach, and since I love that place, I was game to check out a new outdoor retail experience. We parked in the Whole Foods structure (the have another one on the other end of the mall), and it's 2 hours free parking and then like $1 or whatever per 15 minutes or something after that. We didn't really pay much attention. They have EV stations and clean air vehicle parking that apparently no one pays attention to. We walked in and looked for a directory. Well, they had all these tall, beautiful digital directories but none of them were on. Weird for a place that's new. Seems like a missed opportunity to attract people to your shops, especially since a lot will be first-timers. It wasn't too crowded on a Saturday around noon. There are shops on either side of the street and the middle is lined with seating areas and fake grass, perfect for kids to run around (or dogs to pee on as we witnessed). There seemed to be some stand-alone stores in the middle that probably will be future food stands, but currently weren't occupied. We asked a security guard if there was a food court (we were standing next to Ola), and he said there's only two restaurants open. Uh, weird, because when we walked around more, there was a Shake Shack, Urban Plates, Noble Bird, a sushi place, etc. Someone needs to inform him more or maybe he was just too lazy to say. We ended up eating at Noble Bird (around the corner from Lululemon) and got ice cream at Ample Hill. Fun experience. Good first experience, but might wait for more to open before venturing back. read more

This review is for ANTHROPOLOGIE, here at this 2nd & PCH location. The workers don't acknowledge me when i walk in, i've been here multiple times. The girls coming in on their time off (employees i'm guessing) to shop & get their discount are even snarky and give rude looks, also are loud. They usually dress real cute and look so pretty that it's hard not to glance, but with ugly attitude it changes everything. It's so unfortunate such a cute spot is so rude and doesn't care to check in on a customer. To be "fair" i did come in around 12 (they open at 11) maybe it was too early for customer service? No clue, but i've come in on non busy days it's the same thing. i cannot imagine how ignorant they are on busy days. I'm a Mexican American girl that wears sweats and t shirts all the time. i can't help but to fracially/socially profiled. read more
