I always enjoy visiting this location. Staff is so nice! Specifically the blonde man that wears leather jackets. He was very kind and helped me find gifts that would interest my friend. It's always clean and well organized here, even on holidays which is a very impressive factor. They have a large selection of books, accessories, blind boxes, games, clothing, and even some signed albums. I was able to find pristine Buffy comics for GREAT pricing! The service is awful! I took some items in to trade: such a waste of time. I had looked the items up online in advance and they had far more value than given credit for. Take your items to the Goodwill, at least they put people to work and use the money to do good things. All of the staff members were rude and condescending. Go elsewhere! read more

The staff here is always so friendly and I love all the options of books they have as well as cute little other items that aren't book related! The only thing I would say is it's hard to find used books among new books, and some sections are a little unorganized. read more

You can spend a day here! This place has so much to offer! My Mr. and I came here mainly for vinyl. They had a promotional/sale going on where you make a purchase of $40.00 or more of records, you receive 20% off. Had to take advantage of that offer. Besides vinyl (used and new), they sell used CD's, DVD's, comic books, books, guitars, T-Shirts, Funko pops, and so much more! All are fairly priced. Before you want to trade or sell your stuff, make sure you call to get more info. The place is very organized and staff is ready to help when needed. Everything is categorized and alphabetized. What a wonderful store. Books, games, stuffies, cool t-shirts? Yes please. A great mix of used and new books, all in excellent condition and well organized. TERRIFIC Manga section - far better than most of the national chains. Picked up a nice mix of new and old and really enjoyed perusing the aisles. Overall really cool and unique store. My cousin introduced it to me when I was visiting the area. Has a little bit of everything kind of feel like a nice flea market, but newer stuff! Has huge selection of books, dvds, vinyls, action figures and Funko pop figures! So many Pop figures!!! Also had a lot of neat Halloween goodies! Also a bunch of stuff you don't need but looks cool like keychains, candy, stationery and posters! This place is pretty great, whether you're there for books, movies, music, or games. It was very reminiscent of Zia Records back west and that just filled me with all sorts of nostalgia. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a great place to walk around and just enjoy all of the content they have. I'd say it's even superior to Books-a-Million and Barnes & Noble. Plus, everyone I saw was wearing a mask and keeping socially distanced. So that was nice. read more

2nd & Charles has a decent selection of books, both new and used, music, video games, and even some musical instruments. You can bring in your old stuff to sell or trade, and while you probably won't get much for them it does make that next book a bit cheaper. My biggest complaint is not specific to this location but has to do with their company policies; if you get partway through a transaction they apparently aren't allowed to cancel it and start over which means you have to complete the transaction, do a return (they also don't do one-for-one exhanges) and then do a completely new transaction which takes up a bunch of time. Some of their used books have prices for the original seller on them which can be confusing and add to the amount of time people are spending up at the register area as well. read more

My lady and I stopped by because we saw they have vinyls for sale and we found far more than we'd expected. Tons of new and used vinyls all at excellent prices. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. My daughter and I are huge book addicts and every time we come in, we always go a little nuts. These guys always have amazing sales and every Wednesday you can get some great books on clearance. I love that they offer used and new books and the used books are almost always in near excellent condition. We've found some really great books and vinyl here that we have happily added to our collections. If you're a book person, seriously, this will be your new favorite store. read more

The comic book and fantasy book kid in me cant get enough of this place. Booking buying is cheap and almost endless. If you want to keep your kid entertained for a summer come here and let their imaginations run free. My daughter loves coming here and playing with everything from lava lamps to dragons to star wars figurines. Its never a boring time. read more

This is a corporate problem, no bags for books after purchase, no baskets to put lil ones in, no identified stickers for clearance items...because their stickers are orange!!!! Seriously who's idea was it for clearance stickers there? Like the brand name is in orange and regular price has a small orange sticker near the barcode. But they I guess add another orange sticker for a clearance. Makes no sense. Someone in charge needs to update a red label for clearance. Also bathroom for kid friendly environment with changing table. Anyways just ideas to a corporate or department head manager that can do something or maybe organize the store better for dumb people that haven't been or understand how y'all label. They do have a nice wide selection but i wouldn't recommend trying to trade anything in here as they give crappy rates. Last visit i waited at the counter for 10 minutes while no one was there and then the cashier thought it was funny that i was waiting there. They carry the primary and variant covers for those who aim to collect them. As a teacher, I appreciate the opportunity to sell back books I no longer need in my classroom and receive a teacher discount when it comes time to add to my classroom collection! Found a Moon travel book on New york, for only $8! Had it not been 2 inches thick, and I bought so much wine I thought I would be overweight on the plane ride back, I would have bought it! This is a HUGE 2nd hand book store with so many buried treasures! Didn't trade anything in, but can not comment with that. But next time we are in North Carolina, I am saving room in my suitcase! They might have decent prices, but they get those prices by screwing over their customers and employees. For a book they plan to sell at $16 they'll offer you $8. When you sign up for an account with them they take ALL of your information: name, address, phone number, email, driver's license number, gender, birthday, and physical description. They claim to have "book drives" for local schools but they make it a competition between employees to see who can sell the most money in books. They take away employees shifts if they don't make at least $50 a day selling "donation books". read more

What a joke..........I took 12 books on CD's by well know aurthors, James Patterson, John Grisham, Lisa Gardner - they offered me $15 in-store credit or $6 cash of all, not each. I would not recommend this place. I had a bunch of video game guides that I wanted to sell, so I called in advance to see if they take them. They confirmed TWICE on the phone that they did and said to bring in all I had. When I got to the store, I only brought in a small stack to confirm they would accept them before carrying them all from my car. Again, I was told they would take them. Upon bringing the rest of them in (2 boxes) I was told they only accept guides from the last year. Were I told that on the phone, I could have saved time and gas money, as all my guides were from 2+ years ago. Frustrated, I kindly spoke to a manager and let him know that I was given incorrect info on the phone and that the employees should be made aware of policies like that. Not a huge deal, these things happen. He laughed at me and said mockingly, "Oh, yeah, some of the staff are new. Have a great day!" I would happily take my stuff to a pawn shop, Craigslist, or eBay before dealing with that kind of rudeness and unprofessional staff. read more
