Probably the best quality and most consistent steak house in Shreveport. Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

This was an anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We started our evening in the bar. The drinks were great and the bartender was good. The atmosphere is typical upscale steakhouse, extremely clean & very nice. When we were seated we had lump crab cakes for an appetizer and a wedge salad that were pretty good. My wife and I both had the special, Hand-cut tenderloin cooked and seasoned perfectly, served with whipped red potatoes and haricots verts, and three huge accompanying gulf shrimp. Hers was 7oz and mine the 10oz. This was the best steak I have eaten in a long time, as was my wife's. The bill was a little on the steep side but not unexpected for the quality of food, service, & atmosphere. This is by far the best meal we have had since moving to the area. We will definitely be going back! read more

It was our first time to 2Johns and it did not disappoint. Beautiful atmosphere with Mardi decor and yellow, green and purple napkins varied across the tables. We started with the Carb cakes and carb au gratin apps, the cakes were giant and very tasty and the au gratin was decadent and delicious. My entree was the special, which was tilefish on lobster risotto. The fish was light and cooked perfectly and the risotto was to die for. My wife got the 10oz. Filet, so she could share with me, and it was amazing. Their steaks truly are a cut above the rest in town. We then finished it off sharing desserts of Brownie sundae and bread pudding. They were also huge servings, we should've just shared one as we couldn't finish either, but both were warm and so good. Best of all the service was top notch and we felt spoiled. We can't wait to go back! read more

Best steak everrrr! No really - the 10oz filet with stone-grits and grilled asparagus was quite incredible - 10/10! Haley Brooke on piano - we don't deserve her! She's a bit bougie - but love her and her beautiful voice nonetheless! ;)) It's quite the show sitting at the bar led by the queen bee Alex - Bartender Jeremy heads-up a fun-loving crew that is quick to laugh at your joke and provide great service with a big smile. Great times!! 2Johns is special - a cant miss! read more

This steakhouse was packed when we arrived. My travel nurse buddies and I decided to try this restaurant out because we always go to the same spots around Shreveport. I decided for my last day, I'd do something different. We made reservations because I wasn't sure what to expect. But even on a week might, they were super busy. Our waitress was great, she was attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. She recommended some dishes and so I got the snapper because she said it was one of her favorites. I didn't realize the sauce was a red sauce but it still tasted good. It was a tad bit sweet for my taste and The fish almost felt smothered by the sauce. Even still, the drinks were good, the fresh bread that comes out was great as well. I also got the crab cakes as an appetizer. They were good. Had a good crust on them. And the bread pudding was lighter than your usual. The servers were very attentive and most of the party enjoyed their meals. One of my friends didn't like her drink after tasting it. She asked if she could swap it out for another and was told she's still have to pay for the unwanted drink. I'd never heard of that before and I've traveled to many states and have eaten in many steakhouses. That put a bad taste in her mouth considering she barely had a sip. When we got home, 3 out of 6 of us didn't feel well. All of us had seafood and thought maybe it was that. We felt better the next day though. Overall my experience was good and I'd go back and try another dish. Just know, if you order something and it isn't to your liking, you will still have to pay for it. According to the waitress, alcohol cost a lot of money so they won't take it off the bill. read more

We have visited 2Johns on three different occasions, and I have always been impressed with the service and food. Upscale yes,but certainly worth it on special occasions. My wife had the blackened Verlasso Salmon and she said it was like eating velvet! Cooked to perfection. I had the 24 oz. Cowboy cut USDA Prime bone in rib-eye. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and I enjoyed every bite. We split the sautéed mushrooms and the potatoes Au Gratin, they were equally delicious. My steak came with the 2Johns wedge and I went with the balsamic vinegar as my dressing and man was it good. Last and certainly not least the brownie with ice cream will put everything over the top. Warm right out of the oven brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate and caramel. Just get it ! The service is second to none. You are simply taken care of and are fed a heck of a meal. When in Bossier City, Louisiana go by and try 2Johns. Go get Full read more

Have been to this location multiple times and this was the first time it warranted a review. The last time my entree was barely warm and this time they knocked it out the park. Our server an older gentleman was very knowledgeable about the menu and aimed to please. The filet I had was perfectly cooked but had a tad more seasoning than I prefer. Definitely enjoyed the bread to get the party started and the house marg I had was worth the taste! read more

2 Johns, was our second stop this night! We tried the Calamari, Crab Cakes, and shrimp and grit apps, all not pictured because we devoured! The drinks were amazing. The Service was awesome! We sat in the Bar area, but our waitress was great and very attentive. They had a nice little band playing low key, low lit scene. It was great per usual. read more

We had dinner at 2Johns celebrating our daughter's MBA! We sat in the corner by the bar. Steaks & wine were delicious!! Steaks seasoned & cooked perfectly. We all had the blueberry cobbler & crème brûlée for dessert ....perfect way to end a fabulous meal! Live music was wonderful. Tara, our server, was cheerful, kind, fun, very helpful - our evening was great but even better because of her! read more

BLOWN AWAY! Sat at the bar with a friend after work. We looked ugly and tired in our scrubs and were honestly just looking for an average drink and someone suggested this place to my friend. SO glad we went here! The ambiance is very dark, elegant, and romantic. I would come here just for that. It is pricey, but that's expected. The bartenders are friendly, personable, super awesome at making and creating drinks, and they're very attentive. THEY HAVE PISCO!!! Do yourself a favor and try a pisco sour. Please. It was awesome! We also tried a spiked chocolate milkshake of some sort. It was so delicious. I'm still craving it! For dinner I had the pan seared grouper over a creamed spinach with lobster. It was absolutely delicious! My friend got the salmon and cleaned her plate as well. Everything was a 10/10 from presentation to taste to quantity. It was perfect. For dessert I tried the bread pudding. It was good but not as decadent as I was expecting after the entree. Oh well. Next time we'll try the blueberry cobbler :) read more

We love everything about 2Johns! I am consistently impressed every time we visit. The ambiance is perfect. Then the food! Everything from appetizers to the steaks to the dessert, there's nothing bad on the menu! The service is so attentive, too! We love having Angelica as our waitress. It's the best restaurant in the area, no doubt. read more

Our most recent experience started with the hostess over the phone. She helped me plan a birthday/engagement dinner for a party of eight, to include champagne selection and flower delivery. She made sure our waitress Karen had all the details. Karen gave us superior service without overcrowding us. She was very knowledgeable of the menu offerings and took the time to answer all questions. The food was fresh, fragrant, flavorful, and well presented. The cocktails left a little to be desired for my taste. The Sazerac and the old-fashioned were just a bit flat for me, but the ladies enjoyed their martinis. The overall experience definitely met my expectations and we will remain patrons. read more

This place is wonderful. The food, staff, and service is top notch. I recommend 2Johns to people who ask me about them. Superb!

This place is a gem nestled in a culinary wasteland known as Bossier city. I have dined here several times and never had a bad meal. The steak are always cooked perfectly and all of the sides are pretty good. The bar is usually a lively place to eat and people watch. Overall very good restaurant. read more

Great spot!! We came here on a random Thursday night for a late birthday dinner. If you're worried about getting a reservation for 2, there's no need because you can sit in the bar area (first come, first served). It definitely has a nice romantic vibe for date night. I enjoyed my wine selections (both pre and post dinner wine selections). The meal was fantastic!! I had the trout with the creole sauce that was tomato-based, which didn't ruin the taste at all. The parking can be tricky depending on how busy. But there is valet, which is expected. I would come back again! The service was great and so was my overall experience. read more

We have dined here many times. The ambiance is really nice. Service is good. When it comes to the food the wedge salad is best.

This is the place to be. Excellent food, top shelf service and live music atmosphere that sets a relaxing mood. Lots of whose whose can be spotted there leisurely dining and enjoying the great steaks (food) and atmosphere. Even the owner comes by and says hello. read more

I've been here a couple times over the years and it seems to progressively be getting worse each time. I took my mother and step dad on a "dinner date" spent 330$ for VERY mediocre food. The service was excellent as always but the steaks were absolutely top 5 worst I've ever eaten. The lobster Mac was ok and the salad was drowning in dressing. I guess the only thing I could really say was good was the cold beer and waitress. read more

They have a little bit of everything for ambiance from the casual well lit patio area, fun vibrant bar seating with the piano, to the more quaint romantic fine dining room. My favorite and the best martini menu in the area with other cocktails just as amazing. Food never disappoints from the Friday lunch special to dinner. Service is always on point! read more

Fantastic steaks! Can't go wrong with a steak special. I loved their wine selection. The Austin hope from Paso Robles was offered and it made the meal even better! An absolute must!! My wife and I come here often. Never a bad dinner and the best steaks ever! The martinis and old fashioneds... Stellar!!

Great food and Great service. We had the Crabmeat Au Gratin for our Appetizer and it had a good taste but I didn't care for the uncooked onions in it. I ordered the 14oz Prime Ribeye with Lobster Risotto and green beans, the steak was so tender and was seasoned perfectly, the green beans was really fancy and tasted wonderful with the garlic seasoning and ohhh man you have to try the Lobster Risotto, it was amazing. The wife had the Steak Au Poivre with mashed potato's, she said her steak was super tender. For desert we had the fudge brownie with Ice cream and it was good also. For us they had a waitress and a waiter that took really good care of us. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food on the menu as we quizzed her. The waiter was full time checking on our drinks and cleaning up any unused plates. I know I'm saying everything is good and I'm usually a pretty tough critic but I'm telling the truth is was good!! Quote from the wife as I'm finishing up this review. "Probably the best Steak I've ever had" read more

I feel that I owe it to the person reading this to say, you will rack up a bill if you eat here, there's no way around it (even sides cost extra). Once you've swallowed that pill, everything else is pretty easy to swallow. I had a prime rib steak, while the cut of meat was fatty, it was prepared expertly. It was done to what would be the textbook definition of 'rare' or 'medium'. Their sides were delightful too, grits and potatoes are both winners. The bathroom was icy cold. I could see the steam on my...finish the sentence. The atmosphere was nice and so was the waiter. read more

We had a great time at 2Johns. We dined on steak filet Oscar style, Snapper Hollis, and grilled shrimp. All were excellent . Went there for my wife's birthday and the food is mad expensive. But it was worth it. The menu kinda felt limited. A little disappointing but I won't knock it for that. WHAT I WILL KNOCK IT FOR is that I asked for mushrooms to be added and the mushrooms we got added on to our meals made both me and my wife terribly sick for days. I'm wondering if the mushrooms were straight out the can or if they were sitting somewhere going bad. I don't think I'll go here again. My health insurance can't cover it. read more

For starters, it took too long for our server to acknowledge us. So long that I started a 5 min countdown before we were going to leave or ask the hostess who our waiter was. After our drink orders were finally taken, service was not so much an issue. I am celiac and one thing I appreciate about 2Johns is that they have GF marked on their menu. However, our server needed education because she told me everything marked GF meant it was GF. This was after I ordered our appetizer of shrimp and grits and specified that it needed to be GF. On the menu, it very obviously states that GF means the item is gluten free OR CAN BE MADE GF. I know from previous experience not every item that's marked gf automatically comes that way- some require modifications. I did not have peace that my food would come out gluten free after the server obviously did not understand their own menu. The food we received was good. Ambiance? Needs work. Our server stood around gossiping with other employees most of the time, sometimes within ear shot. The "runner" that took care of us was amazing. He was so kind and respectful. Honestly they work harder than the actual servers. For a place that costs this much, I would expect staff to be very well educated on the menu and allergens. I am disappointed in that and would definitely hesitate to return as this is a serious medical necessity. I also marked on our online reservation that this was for a birthday and that was never acknowledged. read more

If you're looking for a place to valet your car, walk in to the sound of live piano being played and sit down an enjoy a 5 star meal this is your spot. I love the steaks from this place and I tell everyone I can from the bossier area it is a must go. The service is top of the line. When you order a steak they will temp check your steak when it arrives at the table to ensure it's cooked right. While you're waiting you will be served fresh and hot bread. It taste like it's hand made so I would be surprised if it wasn't. The bar is always full of well dressed people enjoying a drink and have struck up some great conversation with some very successful people. This bar is definitely not your local chilis bar. This is a must go. The prices are on par with the service so be ready to pay for a 5 star meal. read more

I wish I could say great things about this restaurant. Unfortunately, not so much. I had a Caesar salad and crab cakes. My salad had yellow lettuce and my crab cake was nothing to write home about. For me, the menu is dated as well as the garnishes. Their menu and restaurant needs some updating. Being from a major city and having moved here a few years ago, it's very hard to find amazing locally owned restaurants that have quality products and memorable menus. I agree with many other reviews and that it very overpriced for underwhelming food. I may try again. Probably not unless I'm invited and don't have a choice though. read more
