Thumbs Up: POST has done an excellent job repurposing Houston's historic Downtown Post Office into…read morea multipurpose destination. Thumbs Up: The rooftop lawn and garden are beautiful and provide a relaxing place to enjoy the city skyline. Thumbs Up: Portions of the rooftop are dedicated to gardens that grow fresh produce, adding a unique touch to the space. Neutral: I wasn't able to determine where the harvested produce ultimately goes. I'm sure the information is available somewhere, but I don't recall seeing it during my visits. Thumbs Up: I can actually see my home from the rooftop. Thumbs Up: I've watched a few rooftop concerts from my balcony. Thumbs Up: As an added bonus, it's always entertaining to hear some of my neighbors complain about the "noise pollution" during HOA meetings. Living Downtown comes with unique advantages and occasional inconveniences. If someone can't tolerate city life, they may be happier living in the suburb provinces. Thumbs Down: Access to the rooftop is sometimes restricted during seasonal events and special art installations. I understand the need for ticketed events, but I wish general access to the public spaces could remain available whenever practical. Thumbs Down: I am able-bodied, but I couldn't help noticing that rooftop access appears difficult for visitors who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments. The elevators are not easy to locate, and several were out of service during my many visits. Improving accessibility would make this space more welcoming for everyone.

They host an array of events and activities (some are free, while others are ticketed). Events and activities include live music, DJs, yoga, Zumba, and seasonal events like Winter Wonderlawn during Christmas and Lunar New Year. There are seven gardens which take up about an acre. There's signs throughout the lawn that explain the different gardens and various spaces. Sky Farm is operated by Blackwood Educational Land Institute and they focus on regenerative agriculture and cultivation of food. The Outpost can be rented for events. Yelp Houston has hosted some events at the Outpost in the past. During the summer, it gets very hot! They have quite a few covered/shaded areas and there's vendors throughout if you need water or a beverage. There's lots of seating too (both covered and uncovered). A visit to Post Houston isn't complete without making the trek up to Skylawn! The views alone are worth it!

First, I absolutely loved this venue! It was less than 2 miles from our Downtown church ceremony…read more The venue coordinator, Kerri, was also incredibly attentive and easy-going and I'm very thankful for her. I love the character, the raw feel of the building being on the outskirts of downtown, and the beautiful large window doors to welcome guests. The view from the second floor gives a breath-taking view of Downtown. I received compliments from guests all night long how awesome the venue was! Okay, the not so great: I feel horrible giving this venue 4 out of 5 starts because it was really great but there were a few things as a bride shopping for venues would want to know. I would also like to preface this by saying I think these things are out of Station 3's control. The first being that the downstairs got incredible hot as the dancing began! 1.) Yes, I had my wedding in August, and no, I didn't expect for my wedding to feel like a dream. But it is what it is. it was hot downstairs every time a guest exited and opened one of the big front doors. On the flip side, It felt great upstairs during dinner! So, yes, they do have an A/C that works well :) 2.) it was a little disappointing that you could not real candles. I don't think my LED ones took away from my overall image, but there is something more romantic about a flickering candle versus a battery operated light. Thank you Station 3 for a beautiful night!!!

I recently attended a wedding reception at this venue. I travelled from DFW…read more The venue itself is interesting and the food and service were ok. No real negatives. But The have a nice parking lot next door to the building. During the course of the reception a number of cars were vandalized/robbed (broken windows and ransacking the contents). It wasn't even dark yet. Mine was one of them. It could have easily been mitigated by a rent-a-cop. Take note as this was a very avoidable event. Beware and if you rent the venue get your own security if the venue doesn't care.

If you're looking for the perfect venue, look no further than 1111 Studewood Place! This place is…read morethe real deal--a stunning venue with breathtaking views of downtown Houston. Nestled in the historic and vibrant area known as "The Heights," it truly feels like a hidden gem. I chose this location for my husband's 40th birthday bash, and let me tell you, it was the best decision ever! With a Casino Royale James Bond theme, I wanted a venue that could deliver an exclusive vibe, and 1111 Studewood Place did not disappoint. My husband was completely surprised and in awe of the space, and it certainly wowed our guests! I've never received so many compliments during a party; everyone was thrilled by the beautiful details and had an absolute blast! A huge shoutout to Muyiwa, who is a complete professional! He attended to my every need and was a master at putting out fires before I even realized there was a problem. His connections with vendors made everything seamless--from catering and wait staff to casino tables, beverages, decorations, and luxury lounge seating. He offers these services as add-ons or can provide contact information, which took so much stress off my shoulders during the planning process. Oh and as so many others have mentioned parking, valet included! I did add a backdrop for some extra flair, but honestly, the venue is gorgeous on its own! The event was an absolute blast--we danced the night away and truly felt like we were in the movie Casino Royale. I wouldn't hesitate to host another event here; in fact, everyone at my party was so impressed that they immediately started planning their next event at this venue! The rooftop setup is fantastic, giving you the best of both worlds. If it rains, you still have a beautiful indoor space to enjoy. It's clear that this venue is thoughtfully designed, and my husband and his friends had the time of their lives. They even mentioned how jealous they were and wished their wives would plan something similar for them--so I think I earned the best wifey award! I highly recommend 1111 Studewood Place. Don't hesitate to book your event here; you'll definitely be the talk of the town!
