If you want painting done correctly, I don't recommend this place. This is a new tail gate btw. Owner was awesome, but work quality? Not good. Paint job 2/10 I brought my 4Runner in because it got rear ended. Vu kindly gave me a killer deal, which was great, but paint work no so great. First time picking up my car, I was shocked, the painting on the interior of my gate was horrible. Black spots everywhere, not fully painted, missed spots. Check out the videos (first pick up) Vu was kindly enough to offer to redo the whole thing, great, picked it up again and still the same problem, not fully painted. I needed to get a bumper painted and I was looking all over, I decided to look on Yelp and Vu was the first one to reply within an hour, and it was well after normal business hours. He was able to fit me in the next day, the job was accurate and the paint top notch. The price was also extremely fair for the work that was done. The shop is a little hard to find if you're not familiar with the area, but it's completely worth it. Almost everything about getting any car serviced is a pain, but not with Vu and 220 Auto! By far the best experience I've had in over 50 years of driving! The tail light in my 2023 Ioniq 5 was broken in a parking garage in Honolulu (sigh), and Vu's amazing help began by helping me find a 100% legit OEM part for a fraction of what the dealer tried to charge me. He installed it quickly and perfectly, and made everything about the experience an absolute delight. He even helped me find the place! Vu did an excellent job on my car where the damage looks brand new. Quick, free estimate, finished within 3 days and no games on pricing. He's very reasonable and affordable. I hit my fender, and he ordered the parts from Lexus ($500), paint to match ($300) and labor ($700). He warned me the paint may look a little off but with me being my cheap, frugal self I didn't care bc my car is 10 years old. My surprise when I got there n it was a perfect match n I wasn't expecting it It was such a bargain and he went ahead and polished out all of the nicks on all 4 of my doors as people open and ding your doors here with parking spaces being so small in Hawaii. He did this free of charge! He's polite, friendly and very fair, I promise no disappointment. The only thing is that it's hard to find his shop as there's no signage. Got a great value and quote from this repair, and it looks great. The location might be a little hard to find at first but it's going to be all the way in the back inside the lot. He also offers a car loaner which is a plus because not many shops offer one. The only downside really is the time frame he gives until complete. Not sure if I got him on a busy day or week, but if he was backed up he should have communicated that to me. He told me 3-4 days, but actually took 6 days. Overall I would come here again but I would consider that it may take a little longer than what he says. read more

The big take away for me... if the name in Yelp doesn't match the business name, don't trust the yelp reviews. ;) To put it bluntly... I was not very happy with the outcome of the paint job. They had difficulty matching the paint, which I understand, but I thought it was pretty far off. They also said they would paint the back fin, which was only partially prepped and then never finished because they were rushing to finish the job. Masking of the paint was not done well, so paint edges were not clean. All around, really poor quality. Obviously the company is reaching to try to get as much work as they can, without any reputation... Reputation is everything and unfortunately this company has figured out how to game the yelp system. A great learning lesson for me about how to vet Yelp reviews. read more

I was really happy with the work that they've done. I live in town and Vu agreed to meet with me after hours to give me an appraisal. I appreciate it. He didn't have to meet me after hours. They completed my car within three days like he promised. The cost was very reasonable. Because of the cost of the paint, he didn't charge a lot more than appraised amount. Ended up having an issue with my passenger side window and door lock switch. He ordered a new switch and got it fixed within a week. The body work and paint job matched the original really well. Hope I don't ever have to use his service again, but if I do, I would definitely use them again. read more

Not honest. The owner Vu promised to give an estimate to me for $10 fee within 2-3 days. Then the owner wanted to change $10 to $100 fee for an estimate. Not responding to my messages for over 3 weeks. I had to drive 40 minutes to this shop to find out to estimate status. Failed to produce and refused to give an estimate to me. Not good to start business with auto body shop on my vehicle. Updated: The owner "Vu" is very upset after my Yelp review and sent text message to me "....You are little mentally unstable...." If the name in Yelp doesn't match the business name, don't trust the yelp reviews. Reputation is everything and unfortunately this auto body shop has figured out how to game the Yelp system. Do not bring your car here. I had a rear tail light replaced and the side paint was redone, after being backed into. My car was not put back properly which caused water to leak into my car where my spare tire is located. I now have to pay to replace the carpeting as it is moldy. The whole process of working with them was sketchy in comparison to any body shop I've ever gone to. I never met the guy who apparently owns the place and set up all the appointments, and someone else did the work. He was extremely pushy to get my car out of the shop before all the work was done. read more

Took my 2006 Toyota 4 Runner in to repair rear bumper that was dented, partially detached from frame on a corner. While there I asked if they would fix scratches and repaint the front bumper, repaint both outside mirrors and replace the fuel door due to rusted hinge pin. The value was good. He said $350 for tailgate and $550 for bedliner and paid $1000 in the end that he asked for. We took our classic car a 1996 Toyota Tacoma to be done. There was visible nicks that we saw and the surface was not smooth so texted him about it. He said yes super small nicks when he was installing the gate but it shouldn't affect paint or durability. I asked for a refund $200 since we were not satisfied with the work so we might be able to give a satisfactory review on Yelp. He said I was blackmailing him. He said he charged us super cheap and the nicks are barely visible and he can't do anything about it. Far from it, excellent work deserves a great review no matter what we paid. My son's car was rear-ended and the trunk wouldn't stay close. He was driving around with it duct taped close so we desperately needed it fixed ASAP. I called 4 businesses, two of which did not answer and one told me I could bring the car in for a quote ($50- applied to bill) in 2 weeks. When I called 220 Auto, Vu said to bring the car in that afternoon. He un-taped the trunk assessed right away what the job would entail, gave me a quote range and said to bring the car back the next morning. He taped the trunk shut with paint-safe tape and he would try to work it in. I ended up needing to leave the car a second day, but early the next day it was ready. They needed to put the car on some machine to realign the frame and trunk (or something? apparently mechanic and bodywork are not the same provider- I just learned that!) I was pleased with the speed and quality of the work and the price seems appropriate. Vu and his brother Nick were helpful and professional. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them. The auto shop was a little hard to find initially. The best way is to google-map "Bali Boo" and turn right after the shop and go all the way down the alleyway, Also, if Vu doesn't pick up when you call and you can't leave a message, it's o.k. as he returns the call promptly. read more

Early one morning on my way to work, I hit a pig that tore off my bumper on the passenger side and left dents on the passenger side door. After communicating with my insurance agent, I was told to look into possible repair shops and stumbled across 220 Auto. After reading their reviews, I decided to contact the shop. Vu answered my call and immediately asked for pictures of the damage. Within minutes of sending the pictures, I received a quote for bumper replacement, dent removal, and paint. I'm not gonna lie it caught me off guard that he was confident enough to send me a quote without actually seeing my car. Although I was very skeptical, I decided to put some faith in the reviews I read. After about a week of going back and forth with my insurance company, I was finally able to take my car in.
