On my way home from the gym, I noticed signs for warehouse closeout for 70% off at 21st Amendment liquor store, so I decided to stop in and check it out. Needless to say, when I walked in and looked at the bottles on sale, I was very disappointed. There was a small selection of liquor on sale that was the warehouse closeout on one side of the store, and it was not that impressive. I did end up getting a nice Kentucky bourbon small barrel whiskey for a great price, and some non alcoholic beer for Super Bowl Sunday. This is an outdated old liquor store that is not like other 21st Amendment stores that I have been to before. The selection of beer is Ok, but not impressive. The liquor selection is Ok, and the wine selection is mediocre. The staff are not that helpful and appear to be bored and not interactive, so if you need assistance or have questions, you are out of luck. I would not come back here again personally just because the selection of products is mediocre and not really worth the time to spend looking for a bottle of liquor or beer. The staff are in their own little world and not available to help at a moment's notice, so that alone tells me not to come back here again. I enjoy a good drink every now and then but I don't go to liquor stores often. I like to drink socially. Only reason I'd go to a store is if I'm stocking up for a party or gathering. Anyhow I came in to this location because I was looking for a specific bottle of Blanton's. I had purchased it once before at this location and I even called ahead to made sure they had it before going. I did my research and the distributor let me know that this location carried it. The gentleman at that time was very nice and let me know it was first come first serve so he couldn't hold it. I made it though!! Now total different experience the last time I went. I was so exited to get there and ask if they happen to have any because iI wanted to get it as a present for someone. But talk about horrible customer service, the employee behind the counter said that they don't have any and even if they did they only give it to their preferred customers. He explained there is a waitlist, which I would've loved to get on! But then he kept going. He said he wouldn't sell it to just anyone because he don't know who is going to sell it on the internet for a higher price. First of all don't assume you know me or why I'm purchasing a bottle that I normally wouldn't and what the heck kind of service is that?! Bottles are great present and f I knew this bottle would be so difficult I wouldn't be looking for it, but I like a challenge. I recently had a great interaction with the staff at 21st; they were knowledgeable and provided good customer service. On a rainy Saturday in late November, I stopped at this 21st amendment location for a birthday gift of tequila (Teremana). Upon walking in, I was warmly greeted; that's something to be noted on such a cold day! I couldn't help but notice the beautifully decorated tree, standing tall and shining brightly. It made me smile because it was put together so well *(see photo). I was guided to the tequila, and given a brief breakdown of their selection. At the checkout, the cashier complimented my choice (Blanco), and then mentioned the distinct differences between 3 of the most popular types of tequila: blanco, reposado, and añejo. Nice! read more

Walked in liquor Store today. Asked the associate if they had some Rare Breed. He said yes. Asked him how much it cost he replied $44. I told him I wanted it. When he rang it up it came out to be $59.99. I asked the associate you just told me $44. They called there manager Tenille, who was so unprofessiona. Tenille said we have the wrong price I haven't received a tag but we can give it to you for that pr. They had wrong amount and didn't honor it. They gave me her boss number which his name was Mike. He was so unprofessional I couldn't believe I was dealing with management and there poor customer service. I have witnesses who heard the whole conversations and they were shocked. Mike said the same as Tenille they co honor it either you pay $59.99 and move on. He said he didn't care if it had a wrong price that's not how much it is. Honestly I've lived here for 20 plus years and never encountered this horrible experience from managemen. I need to find who owns this store so they can see how they are runnbig there business. I really like this store, but I don't know why. If I'm looking for something fairly basic - a common beer or liquor that could be found at any grocery - I'm usually confident I will find it here. Anything new I've heard about that I'd like to try, I don't often find here. Their wine selection is definitely better than any grocery I've been to, for sure. The knowledge level of the employees is incredibly variable. Some I can ask a question and I get thorough answers. Some I've asked questions and the only response is a shrug. Probably needless to say at this point, but the customer service is also hit or miss. All that being said, it doesn't stop me from stopping in on occasion. If you're just on a basic beer run and are in the area, this will suit your needs! read more

I love this liquor store. Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable about the items they carry. I even went into the store once and they were giving tastings of wines and liquors. I also really enjoy that they carry some beers that you would not find at most places. read more

Went in today for some single serving case of wine for a quick gift. No one welcomed me to the store. And when I asked if they the item I got a blunt quick "No". Grandmother always told me to check for myself and sure thing, after a little searching I found what I was looking for. After an awkward exchange of payment I left quickly. I felt very unwanted. Looked like they had a good selction of wine and beer but service suck so I wil never be back. read more

Friendly staff but..... As a bourbon drinker, I have bought plenty from these folks. So I find out that they have bottles of a bourbon that I would like to add to my collection. The employee who told me about it, later calls me back and says the owner hangs on to "the good stuff" sometimes for whatever reason (good way to irritate customers who are loyal). This employee who told me about the bottles tells me to call the office and ask if I buy one. So I do. The office first tells me they do have bottles of what I am looking for and that they will call me back. They call back later and I am told they are not available and it must be a glitch in the inventory system + some other BS that sounds fishy. read more

April 22nd I went in looking for 1800 pomegranate, which I have purchased there before. The owner noticed that I was looking around and asked me what I needed. I shared I was interested in purchasing the 1800. He then asked one of the clerks behind the counter to make sure they ordered the 1800 to come in on Monday. I then asked the gentleman behind the counter when it would be in. He replied, "Monday, April 23rd come back around five or six they should have it stocked on the shelf by then." Today I go in at 7:30 pm looking to se if it was stocked. It was not. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if it was in..his answer was, no we don't carry that.. I mentioned that I had spoken to the owner and he asked someone to order it, his answer was, "I am the warehouse manager so I would know." I left feeling disappointed wondering whether I was just "Starbucked" or if this guy has no concept of service. read more

I tried to pick up a 12 pack that was $13.97 and you guys were out. I picked up two (2) six packs of the exact same beer and they were $9.99 each. I asked the store manager if he would honor the 12 pack price and he replied that's not my problem. Seriously. That's awful customer service, especially for retail. Instead, I went to Kroger, picked up a 12 of Lagunitas IPA @ $13.97 and I doubt I will ever buy from this store ever again, especially if that guy is working. I had been a loyal client since the store opened at 146th/Carey. I'll drive out of my way to Kroger. After working on the yard all day, having to deal with that response. No thanks. When I walked out of Kroger with my purchase, I just felt better. read more

Have visited this store on multiple occasions, and the workers there are not very pleasant. I've been told my money was counterfeit, only to realize later on that that wasn't true at all. I've seen people (a wife who was clearly above the age of 55) who with her husband get kicked out of the store in 85° weather because she didn't have her ID. When asked, the worker sarcastically and rudely told me there was "a little known law" that you need to be above 21 to buy alcohol. When I said I hope they come back shopping after that, they proceeded to say "watch, they'll be back. They'll be back tomorrow." Surprising he'd say that, considering its the least busy liquor store I've ever been to. But maybe its his way of saying he happily profits off peoples addiction. I'm disappointed in the customer service of this store. Primarily from the balding older individual, who seems to greatly dislike his job and other people. read more
