After having a drink we loved at SNUGG in Irvington (which had a specialty liqueur we'd never heard of) we made a special trip to Total Wine to try to replicate it at home. It's an Irish spirit called Shankey's. We were happy to find it there. They also have a nice selection of THC/Delta 9 drinks. Probably the best selection I've seen in Indiana. The employees are also SO helpful and welcoming especially when we bring our dog with us! Sometimes there are tastings and samples. I went to this location for one of their classes, and it was a great experience. As soon as I walked in, an employee asked if I was there for the wine class, and when I said yes, he immediately volunteered to show me to the location. For some reason, even though I had signed up and paid, the host was unable to find me on their list, but this small hiccup was no issue, and they took the blame for whatever may have caused my name to be left off the list. My guest and I were directed to join the food line, where they were offering heavy apps (meats, cheeses, crackers, fruit, cookies, and cake loaves). The line moved quickly, and we were able to take a seat. This class was informative and fun. The host was friendly and enthusiastic, and shared plenty of information about each wine we tried. I also enjoyed the selections and plan to purchase some in the future. I highly recommend Total Wine & More classes, and I look forward to attending another soon. Total Wine and I have a sorted past. Like any relationship, there have been peaks and valleys. Let me tell you about the peaks first. They have some of the best cognac pricing around. My favorite is Remy Martin with D'usse coming in second. I also enjoy the wine classes. I'm not a huge wine drinker, as I only enjoy sweet wines, but I find them informative and entertaining. Plus, the staff that leads those classes are always upbeat, excited and passionate about what they're teaching. Now for the valleys. The managers here have displayed some pretty pushy sales tactics, sometimes going as far as insulting us on our choices as to what to purchase. We never spend under $50 when we come here, and they are often pushing Total Wine- crafted options at a much lower price point. That aspect alone has converted me to a shopper who chooses to solely use the app for my purchases. My husband still goes inside from time to time. Now, the bottom bun of my compliment sandwich is the recent addition of cannabis- derived beverages or Delta 8 & Delta 9 drinks. Total Wine continues to be one of my happy places. They just have so many great wines! Wines that I can't usually find elsewhere. There's one that's been on my list for a while -- Bacchus Ginger's Cuvee Pinot Noir -- and I happened to grab the last bottle. It ain't a fancy or expensive wine, but it's supposed to be good for the price, so I'm excited to try it. This Total Wine in Carmel seems slightly smaller than the one in Nora, which was the first Total Wine to open in Indiana. It also seemed way less busy when I visited. It was super quiet, which I loved. Have you ever just wandered the aisles of a wine shop and gazed lovingly at all of the bottles of wine you've never tried, hoping that some day you will? If not, you should do that here, because you will most likely be undisturbed by the people who work here. They kindly left me alone, but were there when I needed them. Total Wine isn't just a wine shop. There is also "& More" in the name! They also have all kinds of beer, spirits, seltzers, cigars, some snacks and accessories. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I'm in Total Wine & More. The selection is unreal. I have an addiction to a pomegranate mixer that I can only find here, so I stock up. I can find an amazing selection of NA beverages for my friends that prefer NA and the prices are decent. I can find all the favorite craft beers for my husband. The selection is just unreal. The staff is friendly and willing to assist if needed. But heck, if you wonder down the wrong aisle, you'll still find something that you want to try. The store is convenient with plenty of parking. I always say customer service is more important than the product you offer. When I first arrived I pushed the "help needed" button by the cognac. I've come to notice that only the white shirt employees have the key to secured alcohol. So after a few minutes, I saw a white shirt employee in the next aisle. She was talking to customers and even though it sounded more like a personal conversation (speaking about what they did last night) she said to me "do you need something?" I replied "yes I pushed the help needed button for the cognac" she then replied "somebody will come". Then another white shirt employee walked up and said "you need something" and I said yes I'm the one that pushed the help button and he said, "well, what do you want?" I said "can I please have a 1.75L bottle of Remy Martin?" He then said "well which Remy do you want we have several?" I said "oh, you have different Remy Martins that come in 1.75L?" He then said no, just this one....I then said ok, well I will take that one. He said, well ok I'll have someone bring it to the register (which is the way they usually do it but they always bring it themselves) so he calls an employee over and ask him to take it to the register. Then when he hands it to that employee they start having a conversation. So now I'm standing at the register with the cashier who asked how my day was going and I said pretty good and yours? And she said it was good. After that she asked for my id and I showed it, she asked me to put in my rewards number, and I even put my card on the counter. Then she said, I'll be right back and she went and got my bottle from the other employee and brought it and rang me out. I know this is a lengthy post, but I say all that to say this. I ONLY go to Total Wine for the prices because it isn't the service. Sometimes it's not even the prices. 21st Amendment has the same 1.75L of Remy Martin but is $5 more. I'd rather pay the extra $5 and be treated with respect instead of saving $5 and be treated subpar when I'm spending about $100 for a bottle of Cognac. I don't understand how a franchise store that has all of these locations would allow their employees to treat paying customers like this. And it's not just me, it's common treatment when I speak to other people I know that go to Total Wine. read more

I was out and about running errands and I wanted to stop in and check out the new Total Wine location in Westfield. I was very impressed with how much bigger this new Westfield location is than the Nora location. Total Wine has free samples on the weekends during certain hours, and since I came on a Saturday, they were plenty of free samples for me to choose from on this particular day. They were samples of bourbon, cocktails, and wine. The staff were very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job going over each of the wines, bourbon, and cocktails. Of course, I ended up purchasing more than I wanted to because of the free samples, but that is how they entice you to buy their products and try different things. This Total Wine had samples all over the store, and the variety of wine, beer, and spirits is larger than the Nora location. The customer service is always excellent at Total Wine and the staff really knows their stuff about the wine and products in the store. Total Wine also has classes on a regular basis that you can attend on varieties of wine and beer at a certain price. They are wonderful and worth the price. While there are always team members walking throughout the store, a visit to the Total Wine website will tell you the aisle and bay of your item, making running in and out and easy option. This visit seemed to be right in the middle of a busy moment, and I wasn't able to snag a team member who could spare the time to help me shop, after a bit of searching, I figured out the system and the rest was a breeze. The cashier who checked out my order carded me ( bonus points for the store ;) ) and noted that we had the same birthday -- he was incredibly friendly and I look forward to future visits. When you do have more time to spare, there is a wine-tasting area and an incredible variety. I definitely recommend this shop :) read more

Lots to choose from and we bought quite a few bottles. Prices were descent. However, one factor that was disappointing is their app does not accurately note the locations or availability of products. The store is fine. Great selection. This review is for the Chardonnay class. I thought this would be a fun class to do for my wife and me. I love Chards. At $20/each it was a waste of money. The charcuterie spread was fine but buffet style which grosses me out watching people pick off it and try to eat like it's their dinner serving. The information provided was poor and wrong at times. The dudes running it knew very little about wine and were wrong with their information more than once especially when questions were asked. The pours were very small. Just a taste. No chance to revisit a wine to see if we actually liked it. I would not do another class at a Total wine. Don't bother. read more

I was anxiously awaiting the opening of this Total Wine & More location which is now the closest to my home. I stopped by on New Year's Eve to pick up some wine and the ingredients necessary to make a Negroni. The selection is amazing and perhaps a little overwhelming since there is so much. However each time I've been in; I've been able to get assistance to find what I was looking for quickly. Each time they've have plenty of associates on the floor and several, if not all, of the check out lanes open. The prices are great as well. They are in the old Steinmart store, so the parking lot is pretty big. However, the parking lot and finding a spot was very hectic, as can be expected, on Christmas and New Year's Eve. read more

It's a great store. They have everything and their pricing is very good. However, Templeton Rye 4 yr is a great, inexpensive mixer. I would love to buy templeton rye 4y, but they are confusing it with another templeton product. The back tag says "templeton rye 4" and yet there is something else there. I have inquired about this several times, talked to a manager, and the last time 4 employees were working on it only to discover that if they scanned the other product it came up as templeton 4yr, though everyone agreed it was not. Four months have gone by and this is not fixed. So they loose my business. read more

Have never had a good experience there. And I go at not peak times. Can't find anyone to help me. A nice man who was doing the wine tasting (not a total wine employee) helped me when an employee totally ignored me when I needed assistance getting bottles down from a high shelf. A bourbon I was purchasing had two different prices on the shelf. When I asked about it I was told that the higher price was from November. What!? Another time the employee told me the wine I was looking for wasn't good, even after I explained that was the type I liked and had been drinking for years. I like what I like! Unbelievable!....Stopped by this new location to search for two bourbons, one of which I had bought at this store before. The first...a well known, highly rated bourbon that was purchased a a Sam's Club several months earlier. The response from the floor person....."My computer says June 2023.......which means we may NEVER get it". He then proceeded to recommend I call HIS distributor to see where else this could be found. The second bottle, bought at this same store, "was scheduled" to be restocked.......when??.......sometime this year....??!!??.
