Since the reviews here seem to be extremely dated, lets give the Yelp community an update on 2000. Since these updates, much has changed. The price per hour for billiards, and ping pong is $6. This is due to the competition that opened up in the same lot, which also conveniently has 2000 in its name. I have been to COUNTLESS numbers of pool halls and "joints," and this is number 1 in my book. All other Vietnamese pool halls are always dirty, grimy, and reek of smoke. The other Korean owned ones aren't kept as well as this one. To start, there is no smoking within, the carpets and bathrooms are always clean, as well as the furnishings. It is brightly lit inside and out. They have just recently added more pocket tables in place of pocket less tables. All of the tables are EXTREMELY well kept and super extra clean. They do not provide hand chalk because it is messy, instead they have gloves that you can use so that the felt doesn't get dirty. They vacuum the tables thoroughly every night and are open late. ALL OF THE TABLES ARE MAINTAINED! No tables have any dead rails or rough spots in the lining. The sticks are alright, at least the tips are maintained. They do not serve free refreshments anymore due to the price drop per hour from competition. The only reason I take a star down, is cause sometimes I just want a cold brew while shooting pool, and that is not offered, but it is a very peaceful place to kick back and shoot some pool. read more

The Skinny: For a quick and easy to access billiards place, this is a good option if you are in the area. Cheap, not crowded, and open late. Environment: This is in the heart of the Korean District in Garden Grove. The neighborhood here seems a bit sketchy, but that may only be because I only come here late at night. The plaza is plenty-lit so you should be fine. Inside, the decor leaves much to be desired, but you are here for pool, not for oogling at the walls. The pool tables themselves are kept in pretty good shape. Quality: Every pool table is maintained regularly by the workers there, and sometimes they might butt in mid game and clean your table. However, even though it disrupts your game sometimes, it's what keeps the table nice and soft for the correct billiard feel. Tables are nice, the cue sticks could be better. Good thing is they give you more than enough for you to choose. Customer service: Not applicable. The only contact with customer service is when you come in to get the balls and when you pay to leave. They are pay-per-hour, and pretty cheap. Overall (not an average): 4/5 If you have nothing to do late at night and have some friends who want to kill time at with pool and happen to be in Garden Grove, this is a great place to drop by. It may not look all that great, but you are there for the pool. read more

They have plenty of pool tables, and those weird ones with no pockets too. They also have 2 ping-pong tables in the seedy looking dungeon area. It's full of fobby asian folks at night, but it's open till 2 which is great. They don't serve any alcohol as this is a primarily under 21 kind of joint but that never stopped anybody from pre-gaming. Make sure you don't smack anybody with your pole. Like we rented two tables and it was $8 a table for an hour but we played for an hour and a half and he said that it came out to $26 instead of $24 which is what you would expect. Yes, it is a typical korean billiards room, but with Exxxxxxxxxxxxcellent service, I must say. Business is up and running. Every time I go, it's always crowded. That would be your take if that's a good or bad thing. They have the pocket-less billiard tables, more than enough pocket ball tables and ping-pong tables in the back room. And some old school arcade games in the back corner for those up to play some Tekken or Street Fighter. And if you're playing for a while and start to get hungry, go to the front and get yourself some Korean noodles and a soft drink. read more

Not bad for a billiards place. The reason i give it four stars is because of the fact they don't allow smoking or drinking and my standards for these places aren't very high. We played for about an hour and fifteen minutes and was charged $8. When we inquired about how the rates work it was impossible to find out because the owner(?) spike absolutely no English whatsoever. It looks like a Korean owned place. But he was friendly enough to try explain it on paper when we wrote something down. But he kind of just shrugged and pointed at the monitor as if he was saying the computer does all the work with the rates. Which I respect because at least we know they aren't trying to rig us. Overall it's a pretty worn place but the cues and balls are all in good shape. They play 102.7 and theres about 15-18 tables so we never had a problem waiting for one. Had a fun time too! read more

Cheap, bright and clean! $6/hour and they have pool tables that collect the balls for you! So convenient! The tables are a lot closer together but usually it doesn't get so busy that all tables are occupied. Only gripe, there's no music :( read more

cheap cheap cheap! I came here for the first time like a month ago and it was splendid! Definitely a place to come chill in the middle of the night with all your buddies who always end up sitting there wondering what to do next! Although it may seem a bit "ghetto" on the outside with smokers standing around here and there, you shouldn't just stop at the door and turn around. Come in, pick a table, start the timer, play! $6 per hour = $1 per 10 minutes? there are about 5 pool places down garden grove blvd and they all pretty much look the same from the outside. this one was more brightly lit than the others so i went in (yay bright lights). it's pretty typical in terms of pool halls, i think... there's a bunch of those weird pool tables with no holes. i don't really know how you play that but people who play that game seem to take it pretty seriously. the regular pool tables are in the back, fyi because i tried to play pool on the weird tables and figured out after a few shots that there were no holes for my balls to go in.. i think it's 12$/hr for pool. ping pong tables in the back!!!!! they only have two but it's not very popular so i think there's always one available unless i'm there hehe. ping pong is 8$/hr which is ridiculous but whatever, if you gotta play you gotta play. right? i dunno, get drunk at one of the million drinking places in this plaza and then play ping pong. that way i can beat you easier. =o) read more

This place was my summer '09 go-to. Open late till 2 a.m. usually so it was perfect for those summer nights. School's back and I've been once so it is a little less crowded nowadays. 6$/hour for a game of pool. They've got a couple ping pong tables in the back room too, but not sure about the prices tho. The Korean owner and his buddies keep the place pretty spiffy and they're really chill as long as you don't break the sticks or smoke inside. I've seen a crazy dude think he owned the place and break a pool stick -_- DUMB. Plenty of pocket tables and there are the pocketless tables that the old Korean folk play. It's fun to watch, and the owner seems to enjoy it when noobs like me seem so entertained by these pocketless billiard games. read more

This is a really good place to come to if you want to save money any day of the week. The price is only 6 dollars to play pool which is cheap compared to any pool hall, but they only accept cash. The reality is though that the quality of the tables match the price. In other words, you get what you pay for, and really, I would not pay to play here. I'm pretty experience with my game in pool and I feel like the quality of the tables and terrible quality of the sticks makes it hard for anyone to play and learn. I always bring my own cue sticks but most people don't really have that and are into pool like I am. read more

I come here all the time now. At 6 bucks an hour, per table, it's perfect for groups of 2-4. They also have ping pong in the back, and a couple of arcade games. Just sit down, relax, and play good old pool with your buddies. Or stand up and call bullshit when they make those seemingly impossible shots. read more

First off this Billiard place is nice because they don't allow smoking. Also games are about $6 an hour so it is reasonably priced. They even have ping pong tables in the back. The only thing they don't have are sinks. So I wouldn't recommend using the restroom here. All in all. A solid place to play billiards. Just don't expect cleanliness. read more

The air quality inside sucks. It gets really stuffy in there since there is no ac and they barely turn the fan on unless you go turn it on yourself. There are plenty of pool tables, waxed balls, clean pool tables and sticks. The Koreans keep this place pretty clean except the bathroom which is filled with graffiti. I'm only reviewing the experience as a ping pong player. Most paddles are worn out and need replacing. The room can get a bit stuffy. There are only two tables so if you come in a big group be ready to wait. Prices are reasonable. read more

Walk in, he gives you the balls, and you find a table, and your own sticks. Not in a great area, but for $6/ hour, its great! I don't think they allow smoking in here, but it kind of smelled like smoke. Well it, good price, friendly guy at the front desk! When we were done, he just prorated it and asked for $5. read more

I've been coming here for about 7 years now and will continue til the day they close. I love the friendly people that work here. It's nice to see they have no problems with non-Koreans like at the place on the other side of the parking lot. The rates have remained the same all these years and the tables are kept clean. My only gripe is that they are a little too close to each other, especially when all the tables are full and you have to squeeze by each other to take shots. This was the closest place that had ping pong tables. After yelping it out, considering the price of $6/hr we finally traveled around 10miles just for ping pong! It was worth and we had a good time playing ping pong as the room was spacious. Even though it was at the back and secluded from the pool tables with the crowd, we liked the fact that it had enough space to run around for playing. However, even though it says no smoking...I don't think that happens since I could smell smoke very strongly. That was the only drawback. read more

Used to come here a lot with friends. Prices are great. Mostly bumper pool, there was only 2 pool tables in the very back and like 8 bumper pool tables. There is also ping pong in the back room. The only thing we didn't like was how everyone would stare at us when we went in. We were always literally the only non-Asian people there. I don't like to turn things into a race thing, but it seems like if you aren't Asian, they don't roll out the welcome mat. read more
