I stopped by 20/20 Optical today to shop for new glasses after being referred by my eye doctor. I'm so glad I discovered this family-owned practice that has been here in the same location for 43 years! Upon entering I was greeted with a warm welcome by April at the front desk who immediately set me up with Luigi- their wonderful Licensed Optician. He was so friendly and helpful and really made my selection easy. After narrowing my choices to the perfect two pairs (one for reading and one for distance), Luigi was so kind as to offer to have them ready for me while I waited. I never expected to walk in and out the same day with my new glasses. Yay! And the best part is the price was so much better than anything I've spent in the past. I highly recommend this gem of an optical store when you are searching for your next pair. They also have two other locations and the staff is trilingual. When my child's eyeglasses broke, we searched for a same-day optical and found this one. We came over right away and Bill took care of us. He trashed-talked some of the optical stores in the area as well as some of the renowned ones. I found this unprofessional, but he was above board with everything else. We purchased a pair of frames, and the experience was good, so I returned for my exam a couple of weeks later with Dr. Horowitz because he wasn't in that day. The exam went well and I recommend him--if you can see him at another location! After the exam, an associate who will remain nameless came into the showroom. When I asked for Bill, he said that he was no longer there. Everything went downhill shortly thereafter. He was extremely dubious. Among many things, he lied to me about not having the frames that I had previously selected. When I asked him to order them from the manufacturer, he said that they had closed their business during the pandemic so they couldn't order from them any longer. I later spoke directly to the manufacturer and when I called [him] back, he was upset that I did that but that I was "in luck" because he had found my frames in another customer's bin and "stole" them from her for me! In the end...there are too many details that I will spare you from on this platform...but it was a horrible experience; and for this reason, not only will I not do business with them, but I dissuade others from taking the risk to do so. read more

I had heard about the store from friends In Florida so I reached out via Internet. I sent Luigi a picture of myself and a copy of my prescription and he was able to offer me a number of options. My husband and I went to 20/20 Optical for our glasses and his eye exam. This is by far the best place we have ever gone for our eye wear. First of all, the owner Bill Dwin, is very professional and customer friendly. It is obvious that he really cares about his customers. Secondly, they carry a fantastic selection of frames. I have been wearing glasses for 60 years and 20/20 Optical is, by far, the very worst place that I have ever used for eyeglasses! Luigi talked me into getting frameless eyeglasses to fit my large head and said the price (after insurance) would be "less than $80". When I went to pick up my eyeglasses, Luigi said the price was $75, but oh, that does NOT include the extra $50 for the plastic lenses. WARNING: get your price quotation in writing. Luigi said that he would remake the lenses "at no cost". He also said that he would make the new lenses wider at 63 or 64 mm. I asked him to shorten the vertical height by 4 mm (because the bifocal was completely below my entire bottom eyelid). Seven weeks go by with no phone call to tell me that my eyeglasses were ready. When I just happened to stop by to check on the status of my re-make of he lenses, they were found in a drawer. When I picked these glasses, the frame still felt tight (but Bill loosened it a bit) and the bifocal was still way below my eye). I do believe that Bill (with his 43 years in the business) had to have noticed this, but said nothing. I had to go to another shop to have them re-make the lenses correctly (at the cost of another $70). I learned from that shop that the re-made lenses from 20/20 Optical were still at 61mm and NOT 63 or 64mm as Luigi had promised; nor was the bifocal raised the 4mm requested. Luigi admitted that he is working at two different stores and that made it hard for him to keep up with what is going on. I suggest you get EVERYTHING in writing, because my experience is that he promises the world, but delivers nothing! He lied to me several times and when challenged on it, he flew into an absolute rage. Not sure where all this professionalism is that others write about, but he sure did NOT demonstrate that to me! (shouting and swearing and carrying on like a mad man!) To me, Luigi comes across as a "Fast Eddie". BEWARE!!! read more

Overpriced and horribly unethical business. Put 2 lens in my elderly mom's glasses when only one lens was prescribed by Doctor, but then charged her for both. He acknowledged that the mistake was his, and gave her a small discount, but when compared with the cost of the one lens in other shops, it was still over $100 more than it should have been. The real kicker was that he threatened her -- an elderly person with dementia -- said he'd take her to a collection agency if she wouldn't pay up, upsetting her terribly. Do not do business with him, and if you do, make him give you a detailed bill for what you will be charged for, BEFORE you order any glasses. No telling what he will charge you for after. read more

Dr. Luther is the best! He is extremely nice and the best eye doctor I have ever been to. He actually takes the time to listen and is the only doctor I've been to that's been able to figure out that I have astigmatism in both eyes. Definitely recommended! read more
