No affiliation here, I just really love supporting these kinds of local businesses. Yep I used the L word. I've rented motorcycles on a few continents now and supporting small local business is important to me. Renting a motorcycle from Kim and her awesome hangar on an airport couldn't have been more straight forward or painless... I called in the morning and had a beautiful Harley Davidson that afternoon, not to mention the necessary safety equipment included. Talking with Kim on the phone is like talking to someone you've known for years, very personable and down to earth. More like a friend, bizarre I know but she invited me on a ride with other customers and worked with me when I asked to extend. The only reason I could think of not renting with this establishment is if you are looking for the latest and greatest model of a particular bike. The selection here I would describe as a well maintained mix of semi-modern and classics cruisers. I also get the feeling the selection changes often so don't just go by the website, call and see what's available this week. In my opinion, Kim's establishment fits three types of customers perfectly 1) You're visiting DFW and just want to cruise on a good looking reliable bike 2) You're a sport bike rider who wants to try on some cruisers 3) You're a new rider figuring out the type or size of bike for you As for me, I fit in types 1 and 2. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed renting with Kim. I flew into Texas from California & brought my own Helmet & gloves so only needed a jacket. Kim provided a great leather jacket perfect for my needs. I rented the Harley Heritage Softail for 4 days & spent some of that time on the road for 10 hours headed to New Orleans. The bike was very comfortable, I learned about the heat of harleys lol, but overall an excellent experience. What a great experience! I had not ridden a bike in 15 years, but kept my motorcycle endorsement. I am looking to get back into riding, but wasn't sure how I was going to get some riding skills back before purchasing a new bike. Most motorcycle rental places I've seen only rent big Harley's and other more advanced bikes and want you to have a lot of recent experience on big bikes. I stumbled across 2 Wheels in Motion and found that they cater to new/returning riders as well as experienced riders. The owner, Kim, was great to work with and put up with my multiple emails wondering about how the rental would work and the bikes. She also offers a great hourly price (along with full days) that worked out great for me as I work on getting skills and confidence back. We decided on a Yamaha 650 as a good bike to rent. However, after a couple minutes on the bike that had floor boards and a clutch that didn't engage until the last little bit of the release, we could both tell I was going to struggle for a while. She had a Vulcan 500 that was a much better bike for me to get re-acquainted with riding on and pulled it out and got it ready. She gave me a few more pointers and reminders and I was off. The business is located in a private airport and there was a ton of straight aways that were perfect for practicing. There is also a little mildly twisty road that was a good 3-4 mile run just outside the airport that was great once I got some confidence. I definitely plan to rent from Kim again. Very reasonable terms/pricing and Kim is super nice and very helpful. Next time I'll get something a little larger and closer to what I will probably end up buying. Also - she has a ton of helmets, jackets, and gloves that she'll let you borrow if you need them (no charge). read more

I never write reviews on Yelp. I guess I never felt compelled enough. That was until I met Kim. Kim is awesome enough that I am writing this review now. I rented a Dyna from Kim last week for 3 days. I was in DFW for work but was determined to squeeze in a few days of riding. I usually use Eaglerider, but they did not have the bike I wanted so I went to Kim...and I am very glad I did. First: Kim was the nicest person on the phone when I called her to discuss arrangements. She offered to bring the bike to me for little to no cost, and even asked me if I needed helmet or vests - for free! Second: When I asked her if we could meet somewhere else than the agreed point for me to giver her back the bike, she agreed and was really cool about it. Third: Upon retrieving the bike, Kim offered to give me a ride to the airport - for free! That's where I got to talk to her for 20 minutes and realize how badass she is and how inspiring her story is. Bottomline: Kim's business is unique, based on real value for the consumer, and must be supported. Do yourself a favour next time you are in DFW, and go rent a bike from her. Took the MSF course a month ago and hadn't ridden since then. Contacted Kim and she was happy to get me on a bike and get some practice time on a Honda Shadow. She set me up to ride in a practice area off road as I wasn't real comfortable yet to get out on the road. Greatly appreciated that. Kim and her whole family were part of the experience and all were really accommodating to a new rider. I'm looking forward to getting back out to 2wheels in motion and gaining the seat time necessary for an inexperienced rider. Owner Kim got me on a sweet Suzuki Boulevard, which I would have otherwise passed over in favor of something bigger. She picked me up at the airport and stowed my stuff while I spent 4 days in the hill country. Having the lighter bike was PERFECT for the riding I planned. She was beyond amazing to deal with, and the surprise went better than I could have imagined. I was referred to 2 Wheels I Motion by my MSF instructor. As a white knuckle new rider, I wanted to buy my own bike but was unsure of my skills. Kim brought a 250 to a large parking lot so I could practice for a couple hours. She stayed the whole time and offered encouragement and instruction as well. I rode around the lot most of the time, then my husband got on his bike and lead me around service road. I felt more confident but still shaky. A few weeks later, I rented a larger bike for the weekend. Hubs and I went riding on local back roads, over 100 miles on my own! After that experience, I finally felt comfortable enough to look for and find my own bike. Kim serves a need with motorcycles of all sizes - for brand new riders who need to work on riding skills, as well as experienced riders looking for an affordable bike for a day, weekend, or longer. Her shop is located on an interesting rural airstrip a bit out of the way but well worth it. She has a wide range of bikes from 650's up to 1500's and they seem very well maintained. I wanted to rent a Harley for a couple of days. I was going to get into Dallas early, and wanted to leave late. Kim was able to pick me up at the airport and drop me off. The Harley was very nice. She had a jacket for me to wear because there was a forcast of rain. I did not need the jacket but it was nice that she had it just in case.
