As most places are closed on a Monday, we were lucky to stumble into 1st Dumpling. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the floors and tables were. No sticky surfaces at all! They have a bunch of lunch deals on the back of their menu. I got the salt and pepper shrimp. It came with veggies, rice (you can choose steamed or fried), a cheese wonton, a vegetable roll and soup - (either hot and sour or egg drop). Unbelievable crunch! And for $11.99, it was a generous portion too. Couldn't finish it so I took the leftovers home. Those fried pork buns are worth the visit - they give you a ladle to catch all the soup with. I bit into one to let the soup out because it was very, very hot. The broth is umami and flavorful - it took me back to when I was a little girl and went to Chinatown in Manila - food over there tasted like this! The bottom is crunchy so I suggest eating it while it's hot. It contrasts nicely with the softness of the pork inside. Excellent mouth feel. I loved the pork chop over fried rice. It was a touch greasy but packed with flavor. The pork wasn't dry or over cooked. I appreciated that. I gave them 4 stars because the Dan Dan noodles barely had any sauce. We took this to go and when we got home I was very disappointed because I had to come up with a sauce to supplement it. Had they put a reasonable amount on it (not just a teaspoon's worth), I would've definitely rated them 5 stars. This is a place to bring the gang to. Lots of room for everyone and the menu is sure to have something even for the pickiest of eaters. And the service is always with a smile - the folks here really want to please. They really do love attending to their customers.

Food is great! Place is clean... with clean restrooms and good service. It's a large seating area with a view of the kitchen. Lunch special is an amazing value. Bring the kids!

Came in during a weekday lunch and had a great time with delicious food. Enjoyed all the food that I got. I didn't get the chance to take a picture of the dandan noodles because I ate it right away and even got another order for take out! The beef rolls is one of the best I've ever had! Loved the chili oil but it could be spicier. The pan fried buns had amazing texture! Friendly servers and fast service. Will definitely go back!

I'm a bit snobby when it comes to Chinese food, so suffice it to say that this place came as a surprise. The service here is great as they are not just cordial, but actually friendly and welcoming. The seats were comfortable and it's a rather spacious restaurant. This is kind of tucked away in a little corner of other restaurants near the Montclair mall. The food was good, although the sauce for the chicken feet was a little watery. The pork chop fried rice was solid, but a little greasy. The fried pork dumplings were good, but just a little doughy. We'll be coming back, though.

Stopped by on Sunday afternoon there was no line. Restaurant looks decent as typical Chinese restaurants. Menu offers a wide range of selection. Food came out quickly and service was friendly. We went with pork xiaolongbao, house special chow mein, and sauté chicken with green beans. The xiaolongbao is juicy and flavorful while chowmein was perfectly seasoned. Green beans and chicken was also our favorite as he Ren bean was crispy while chicken strips were tender. Good place to stop by if you have craving for Chinese foods.

I really enjoyed both the dumplings (spicier than anticipated) and the delicious chicken with some of the best green beans ever. Fine service. Very casual ambiance. Plenty of parking. Not cheap but a good value for the quality.

1st Dumpling was great and the experience was amazing. Food was very delicious and authentic. Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance was modern and traditional at the same time. I recommend this restaurant if you're looking for authentic, good quality Chinese food. I will come back!

I used Yelp to find a good dumpling place, and 1st Dumpling N Noodle does not disappoint. My sister and I ate ourselves stupid wanting to try everything. The service was helpful in selections off the menu, and so courteous. I'll definitely be back.

The food here is super yummy!!! I order from here a lot for large orders for work and the food is always fresh and the food is already ready on time. Their dumplings are so delicious. The service is great and the staff is so friendly! They have a really great lunch special too! Such a good price and a good amount of food. It comes with a protein of choice, rice, egg drop soup or spicy and sour soup, spring roll, and cheese wonton and it's only $11.99. Such a great deal!

The food is satisfactory for Asian cuisine in this neighborhood. Service was very attentive, friendly, very helpful and the staff checked in on customers frequently. We ordered a variety of dishes that seemed to all missed some ingredient. It didn't taste authentic Asian cuisine. Some were bland others were too salty. The dim sum and xia long bao soup was missing flavors or had flavors that our party was not use to. The steam char shu buns were dry and pork was too sweet. It could be our palette but if you crave dumplings, this location does do its best to satisfy that Chinese food craving.

We were seated quickly and taken back by how vibrant the interior was. We decided to order multiple plates and share so we ordered Dumpling Soup, Grilled Swai, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Garlic Noodles. Everything was so delicious but the Garlic Noodles were the star of the show for me. They weren't dry or oily, it was the perfect texture. They even brought us chili oil. We ended up getting Milky Buns for dessert which tasted like warm beignets. The prices also weren't bad at all for the amounts that we got. We also utilized the lunch special and happy hour so our portions were a bit smaller. Amazing service with friendly staff. Love this place and can't wait to be back.

6pm, Friday, September 19, 2025…read more It was hopping in downtown Claremont. My date had a certain place in mind though... House of Pong Asian Fusion. It was my first visit here but it won't be my last. I had already did my browsing of what's on the menu. I joined in on the crispy tofu for the appetizer and the crispy salmon skin salad. When we walked in it was busy. The Dodger game was on at the bar. There were maybe three open tables at most. We were seated at their small table against the wall. A cozy table for two. We were greeted by our friendly server, she brought the menus and ask us about drinks to start. I've water all around, haha. She came back with our water. Ooh, tasted like cucumber water... Refreshing. While my lady was deciding, I ordered: crispy tofu appetizer (presented in a small dish, about 10-12 pieces of hot, crispy cubes of golden tofu with a dipping sauce) and the salmon skin salad for my entree. The salad was an ample sized serving to share between the two of us. The salmon skin was julienned and were crispy little clumps like miniature fishy hash browns. Very crispy and tasty salad that included sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and scallions on mixed greens. My date ordered the charshu ramen. We shared our plates. The ramen was very tasty. The noodles had a good chew, not over cooked. Mmm, that was delicious. The robotic server was kitchy and cute. Maybe it does assist them with delivering plates to the table but the human server was observed transferring them from the bot to the table. For our table, we had our food delivered in stages not at the same time. The crispy tofu arrived first, then the ramen, and several minutes later came the salmon skin salad. Not a deal breaker but noticed. Food was good. Service was okay, could be better.

The apps we ordered came out first which were the pork gyozas & the spicy flame garlic edamame! Both delicious. I could eat that edamame on the daily, they didn't hold back on drenching the edamame with their special sauce which I absolutely loveeeeee since I'm a sauce girly lol so the more the better! Still dreaming of them (: Our ramens came out shortly after & they looked soooo delicious & spicy haha we both opted to get the pork flame! I love that they charred the pork! Flavorrrr! Everything was spot on! I do wish they just gave a full egg instead of half only.
