A few…read moreweeks ago, I called and explained to Brittany (enrollment coordinator ) that my child would attend the local elementary school in the special education program however I require before /aftercare due to my work. She explained that they have dealt with this type of situation before she asked that I send his IEP which I promptly sent within a couple business days. They then contacted me for a tour two days later . After taking time off to tour the facility and speaking with them several times. I received an email from Brittany stating that may not be able to accommodate my son. I called the next business day and Brittany basically stated that they could not accommodate my son after the director reviewed the IEP in detail. Honestly, it felt like they were passing bias on my child .I called and complained to the Director ( Ms. Chaz) about my experience as they could have told me this prior to wasting my time doing a tour (as they'd been sent the IEP prior) and stringing me along for nearly two weeks. It also put me in a position where I had to scramble to find alternative childcare. Ms. Chaz did state that they would be able to offer a 30 day trial and that I should have been offered this ( I was not offered this by Brittany ) . However, at that point, the experience turned me completely off and I decided not to place my child there . I am writing this review because people need to know about my experience and the stress it caused. I also hope that they will learn from this situation and treat future perspective parents better in the future as well as be more respectful to parents time . I could have made a bigger fuss as daycares are required to accommodate kid with special needs according to the ADA .

The front area was so clean! I know children aren't in this area, but you have to appreciate a clean lobby. While in the front I peeked at the menu for the children... Amazing to say the least. Its not often that you see real meals on the children menus, but the meals were so nutritious and it looks like fun thing are introduced to children. This is definitely not a fish sticks and tater tots every day type of place. As we entered the classrooms, each teacher just felt so kind. The children were all observed to be clean and happy. no dirty faces and the rooms didnt smell like a diaper needed to be changed. I also toured the playground. The principal exhibits unprofessional behavior, often lacking empathy and coming across as condescending. The school seems more focused on profit than on providing quality education. With a tuition of $360 a week, the extra charges are staggering--such as a $75 fee for being just 15 minutes late for pickup. Also a late payment clause that adds $35 to your tuition if you're late. After only two weeks into my son attending the school, the school's sign was removed due to regulations, leaving the building looking rundown and neglected. It raises questions about where all the money is actually going. Most troubling was the termination of my son's enrollment. After being late on one payment, I was not given any opportunity for discussion or understanding. This lack of communication and the abruptness of the decision are concerning. I urge other parents to thoroughly read and understand their contradicting contract. Because although they have a late payment clause my contract was terminated for a late payment. Do deeper research on Mrs. Erica Gwyn before you send your child to her school. Look on Glassdoor and Greatschools.org and you'll get the truth about who she really is. Don't make the same mistake I made. The principal displays unprofessional behavior, often lacking empathy and coming across as condescending. After digging deeper, I found reviews from others who have worked with her in the past, confirming her unpredictability and unprofessionalism. The other kids in his class seemed happy and excited to be there, which said a lot. I was also thankful he got to experience introduced foods through their program. Unfortunately, my experience with the corporate side was really disappointing. After only two weeks of enrollment, corporate changed course on how my scholarship would be handled and came back asking me to cover costs that were supposed to be included. As a result, we were no longer able to continue at the school, right as my son was adjusting so well. It was frustrating to have things pulled out from under us so quickly, and it left me feeling like there's a real communication gap between corporate and the actual school directors when it comes to billing and scholarships. I'd recommend this location for the teachers and environment, but families relying on scholarship or financial assistance should ask a lot of questions upfront about how corporate handles those arrangements.

Period…read more As my littles became more mobile, I quickly realized they needed more socialization but after going to the library, the park, a different library, back to the park again over and over and over every week... I'll be honest, I was exhausted. Time to look into preschool. I made a checklist of all... the... things... to ask. Cameras? Covid precautions and protocol? Student/teacher ratio? License and accreditation? Discipline policy? Curriculum? Immunization policy? Communication method? Safety policy and protocol? And so on and so on. Yep, I was *that* mom. I know. I know. I knnnoooowww. ‍ I spent hours looking at websites. On nice days, I drove by centers or schools during operating hours to see if the kids outside were playing AND being watched, as well as how many staff were present. I'll stop now because I'm mortified that I did that but my tiny hurricanes are my EVERYTHING. St. Matthews wasn't even on my radar because I lived over an hour away. But when I learned some teachers have been there for 20+ years, the program is small but mighty and I immediately felt comfortable, like *this* was what I was waiting for... without even touring or dissecting the website oorrr canvassing the building, I asked for my three year old to be put on the waitlist. When a spot opened up, he was so excited annnd then I realized I didn't even know how much it cost. ‍ I was SHOCKED (and grateful) at how affordable it is. The adjustment for my son going from being my sidekick to "away" was a little difficult but it did not last long and I credit that to Ms. Deja and Ms. Priyanka. They are AMAZING. Ms. Deja gave me some tips and tricks to help smooth the transition and it worked perfectly and quickly. Ms. Dalex even called to let me know that he was doing great after one super teary drop off. I swore she was calling me to pick him up LOL and I so appreciated the communication. When they started to work on writing their names, Ms. Deja knew that my son could already do that (humble brag ) and took the initiative to help him work on his handwriting, writing in the lines and lowercase and capital letters. She did not have to do that but the fact that she did speaks volumes. Things are going so well that my two year old was recently enrolled. Ms. Robin and Ms. Bijal are beyond patient and the communication is timely and impeccable. My daughter is not yet potty trained so I was hesitant to put her into a program but Ms. Robin shared the daily schedule with me (which includes changing/potty times) and we have had ZERO issues with diaper rash, being wet when picked up, soiled clothes or anything. There is chapel but it is not required. There are different events like Thanksgiving lunch and breakfast with Santa as well as some really creative fundraisers like the Pumpkin sale and Art Auction. There are even after school activities available. From someone who claimed to never EVER allow my children to be in a childcare setting until they could articulate to me the who, what, where, when, how and why of their day (did I mention I was that mom?) believe me when I say I wish I would have gotten them in sooner.

As the business owner, I completely understand she has every right to make these types of decisions. However, removing a child from the program in the middle of the school year because their parents "asks too many questions", without any type of notice, is NOT what you do to "family". Jessica is completely irrational and insensitive as she made this decision without a proper explanation and without considering how this impacts us as two working parents, and most importantly, our daughter. With all that being said, beware of this place! Some general comments... I strongly believe they don't openly welcome parents into the building because they're trying to hide the poor upkeep of the place. The facility is dated, dimly lit, and just not a welcoming atmosphere. If they were proud of their facility, they wouldn't have old signs up, giving off the impression that parents are not permitted into the building. I don't typically leave reviews, but felt compelled to do so about this place. So do with it as you wish. Just know this is nowhere near the best daycare/school in the area. We saw that very quickly when enrolling our son elsewhere. Night and day difference!! Good luck on your search parents!!

Mrs. Jessica was wonderful, she always listened if I had any concerns and would inform me to watch the live feed and check back in with me to see how I was feeling and how the staff was doing. She always made sure I was worry free and happy with the care my daughter was receiving. She really went above and beyond for my girls. It seems there are lots of staff who have been there for a long time. I really appreciate the caring culture of the preschool. The daycare is clean, organized, fun, and feels intimate (even though they have a lot of kids). My son has been in the infant classroom for 8 months. He started when he was 2 months old, and after meeting his teachers, Miss Jamie and Miss Hamida (who has also worked at Today's Kids for 18 years!), I was not nervous at all. The classroom is bright, spacious, safe, and homey. My baby has fun and his teachers are so loving. They have always been supportive of any specific feeding/sleeping/tummy-time schedule. The infant classroom has a maximum of 6 babies at any one time, so I found it to be a lot calmer than other daycare centers where the classroom had a maximum of 12-16 (albeit with more teachers). Drop-offs and Pick-ups are smooth and efficient. The entrance requires a key code to unlock the door, and a password-protected computer application is used to check in/out the child, and it is so easy. It takes about 10 seconds or less. The driveway has a loading zone, which is also super convenient. The front desk is always attended, and the people sitting at the desk know every family, so they call over to each classroom to request the teachers to start getting each child ready to go. For my baby, this usually means Miss Jamie will pack his bag with his bottles and his daily chart and give him one last diaper change.
