His cheerful demeanor and vast HVAC knowledge eased the frayed nerves; providing the confidence needed to make wise (though expensive) decisions. Marty was initially recommended to us by our realtor. We hired him to simply clean the furnace. Though our furnace was in very good shape, Marty still spent at least an hour educating us on specific care and maintenance issues. A year later, when the furnace in our new house was misbehaving, I called our former realtor to get Marty's number. Though not an emergency, Marty was able to stop by less than 24 hours later. He's been in the HVAC industry for more than a decade, and it shows. He was able to tell me what company manufactured our 40 year-old furnace just by listening to it! I believe he operates from his home, so he does not have to cover expensive overhead, a savings he passes on to you. He also gives you his cell phone number, making him very accessible. Our furnace was nearly 40 years old, and while repairable, it just did not make sense considering its lack of efficiency. Marty was aware of the varied rebate programs, and helped us save a few bucks, which everyone can appreciate. He installed an AirTemp furnace, which he said is just as good (if not better) than the more well-known brands. They make a number of the more well-known brands, but when purchasing directly from AirTemp, you're not paying for all their marketing efforts. He walked us through the process of installation, so there were no surprises. All of our questions were met with a kind and humorous response, and he even shared numerous inexpensive energy conservation tips that we could easily do ourselves. Installation took about 13 hours - one day. Though he, and his assistant, were in and out of the house constantly, he made certain that our kitties did not escape. They were professional, cleaned-up after themselves, and more impressively, he called back the following day to see how things were going. I will be calling Marty when my furnace needs to be cleaned. And he told me a secret -- most high energy furnaces don't need to be cleaned every year -- every other year is fine. (Who knew?!) I will definitely be recommending Marty to family and friends. My experience with Hubbards Plumbing went from a 5 in 1988 when Hubbard installed plumbing in my…read morenew home, a 3 summer 2013 and now 1 star. 1988 Hubbard installed the B vent in home carpenter did not finish B vent correctly code officer passed all work in my home and according to Hubbard the Code OFficer did not do his job. 1988 two months after home finished tub installed by Hubbard in bathroom where the B vent was staring at Hubbard yet not a word that it was unsafe. The next 26 years Hubbard maintained all plumbing: low flush toilets ( B vent staring at Hubbard while installing toilet), sink, hot water heater and all plumbing maintenance. All those years the B vent was not finished correctly yet Hubbard never informed me of this error on builder part. April 2013, I requested a bathtub be installed and was scheduled for June yet called and never got a service call appointment. May 2014 home inspected for sale Chad Hubbard arrives and tells realtor and buyers : it is noted the B vent is a fire hazard, not code compliant, and potentially noxious fumes. Chad Hubbard states " as you see Anne I cannot state all is well when there are several life safety issues" When a plumber ignores "several life safety issues" in a home that he has maintained for 26 years I question how safe my family and friends are when doing business with Hubbard Plumbing.
