They told me more troubleshooting was needed. Dailey Electric identified two (2) problems in less than 15 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience did not discover a blown fuse in the transfer switch in 3+ hours. Dailey discovered the blown fuse in the transfer switch in 5 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience did not discover that the controller was melted in 3+ hours. Dailey discovered the melted controller in 5 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience could NOT FIX the problem in 3+ hours! Dailey FIXED the problem in less than 2 hours. FLPS billed me for $950.00 + in labor, while not repairing the unit in 3 visits. Dailey billed me for $250.00 in labor, and fixed the unit in 2 visits. FLPS charges $250.00 per hour. This includes travel time! Dailey charges $125.00 per hour. Travel time is excluded. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience recommended replacing the entire unit for more than $15K. She refused. I paid FLPS' bill by credit card. I immediately disputed FLPS' charge on my credit card on 7/1/2026. The credit card company contacted FLPS on 7/3/2026, 7/15/2026, 7/30/2026, 8/4/2026, 8/14/2026. FLPS owner, Mr. Dan Lewis, DID NOT RESPOND to any of the five (5) repeated requests from the credit card company. The credit card refunded the money I paid, in full, on 9/9/2026. Lessons learned: 1. If you don't really care about getting your generator fixed and have money to burn, Finger Lakes Power Systems is the company for you. They employ techs who are certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience, but who cannot diagnose simple problems quickly or in a cost effective manner. 2. Despite a verbal agreement to provide the main parts 'at cost,' since I already had them ready to order, the final invoice included significant markups on basic cleaning and truck supplies like towels and buckets. When I reached out to discuss these discrepancies in good faith, suggesting compromise, the response was defensive and included immediate threats of late fees on a first-time invoice that was actively being contested. PitStop reduced the invoice by $50 as "good faith". After I itemized out a compromise between what I was led to expect and what was invoiced, I was ghosted. After waiting a few weeks and following up with no response, I chose to pay the invoice in full simply to close the matter, but I strongly advise other property owners to get a binding written contract and a capped labor quote upfront before any work begins.

The tech that arrived had no idea of how to service the Noritz. He reviewed my Manuel but left it leaking. Worse, is that he soaked my faucet head in vinegar and dribbled it all over the marble entry way. It has ruined the marble and it is not repairable. After removing the shower head and faucet, the plumber could not install a comparable style unit, so took off for a few days. When he returned, I bought a temporary unit so I could shower. Then threw this outfit off my property. Noritz denies that D'Amico is an authorized vendor and installer. They recommended an alternate which corrected all of my problems. I was left with having paid nearly $400 to D'Amico, out the cost of the temp hardware, and they were not willing to repair or replace my damaged entryway. Final insult is a snotty attitude. You can definitely find a better place to get plumbing services and products.
