These people are great. We moved my wife's brother here from another nearby "assisted living"…read morefacility that wasn't really taking very good care of him, probably because they have a lot of turnover. Highgate is a smaller facility that is much more intimate. They have a bulletin board with about a dozen pictures of staff that have been there for at least 10 years. When we ate a meal in their dining room I noticed (1) their tables are widely spaced for walkers and (2) some of the administrative staff actually serve the tables. They are all very intimate with the residents. The food is great by the way. We were fortunate to tour just as they had an opening in assisted living. However, after 10 days they called us in for a conference. There had been an incident and they recognized that he was in an early stage of dementia. We were afraid they might say he "wasn't a good fit" for the place. We said that in the meeting and all three staffers immediately reacted for us to be assured, that this is what they are equipped to handle. They have people who are trained in dealing with dementia and have a program for helping keep the minds active which can otherwise lead to pent up frustration. We realize we were too close to see the subtle changes but when they explained how all the little signs added up, it really explained a lot. When something like this hits a family member you are in denial, you don't see it happening. We didn't. They started him in the program and shortly had an opening in memory care where they get the same great food. These people really care and evaluated his behavior. Another place just told us that he was "misbehaving". Highgate is much much better. We're very glad to have found them.

Highgate has gone out of their way to give her opportunity to be included with anything and everything! She is actively living again! At 91, that speaks well of the atmosphere she is living in. Salmon creek was disappointing. Lots of turnover in staff, which happens. A couple nights when I was there, they only had one tech working for the entire memory care side (I believe 24 residents) so I stayed until midnight to make sure my family member was settled and sleeping. Staff didn't appear to know what my family member could do/couldn't do. Ie, not ambulatory, but wanted to het her in the shower. They should get rid of the carpet because it stinks horribly! About 5 steps into the memory care area, the smell of urine hits you in the face! The carpet in the individual room was stained and gross. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our family member alone due to her confusion and the lack of staff. We needed to be there for 8+ hours daily-and often as late as 10 pm to advocate for her. We were told someone would check on her every 45-min. the first couple days to make sure she was adjusting but instead it was every 3-4 hours. Thankfully a family member was there. (And no, they didn't not check on her b/c family was there, they need to go into the room to know if someone is visiting, nor were they told family would be there all day) Family had to ask for her food tray more than once. Unfortunately she was only in memory care for a couple weeks before passing. We would have moved her out if Hospice wasn't needed and end of life was that soon. Proceed with caution if you are considering placing a loved one there.

Their expertise in the industry shined as they only showed us places that could meet his care needs (which were complicated). They helped us not only navigate the process of finding a place for him but also helped with navigating the hospital system. They have strong knowledge of the owners of the facilities and found the right fit for my Dad so he could have a good quality of life. They truly cared a lot about helping him find the right fit. I HIGHLY recommend Family Values to entrust that your loved one finds the right place for their care.

Family Values came recommended from a friend in Washington. Raisa was very accommodating with providing video conferences and scheduling virtual tours. We needed to find a Senior assisted living home for my aunt that allowed her to have some freedom with the extra care and attention she needed. Once we came up to move my aunt in Raisa helped with the entire process. From recommending movers and hotels for us to stay nearby while in town. She even checked in on my aunt once we flew back home which made me feel at ease knowing she had someone in town to check on her. Thank you for helping with the move and transition!

Everyone on that staff was totally caring, they made your stay less stressful. All departments, set the example. The physical and occupational therapists provided the professionalism you need combined with fun and positive motivation. One gripe. There was one cna who did my 4am vitals. She would turn the desk lamp on but would not turn it off when she left. So I had a PT unscrew the bulb. Good on you guys. All of you

This should really a zero. My wife was here for almost 4 weeks following a very traumatic femur…read morefracture injury. This place added more trauma to an already traumatic experience. The nurses were so overworked and overwhelmed that they couldn't possibly manage the number of patients they were assigned. When we met with administrator he had no accountability and was completely dismissive. My wife had to wait hours for pain meds on arrival that was pure torture. And then several times she had to wait for over an hour for medication and bathroom assistance since she was confined to her bed. They mismanaged her pain meds causing severe pain med withdrawal symptoms that were horrific. The food was absolutely inedible. Fortunately we as a family surrounded her and brought her meals so she had proper nutrition. We tried to advocate for her but there little response. She has diabetes and a UTI that the medical team completely mismanaged. They lost 3 urine samples over 8 days before diagnosing the UTI my wife knew she had. Most of CNAs were very young and completely untrained. The system is completely broken. The silver linings were Nurse Caitlin, Nurse Jackie and CNAs Debbie Jo and Matthew. In PT stay away from Anthony. He is one rude dude! Not what someone needs when recovering from a serious injury. And if that's not bad enough, there were layers of filth in the bathroom that were absolutely disgusting and was never cleaned the entire month she was a resident here. There was no water for OK several days and no hot water for 10 days. I could go on and on with more horror stories about this place All in all if you love your love ones stay away from this place.
