On the way to the nursing home, the driver aggressively slammed on the brakes, and caused by mom to go flying forward while still strapped into her wheelchair. (This should not have happened, because the driver neglected to fasten the wheelchair to the floor ramp.). The driver NEVER REPORTED the accident, and the staff ignored it. There is much more to this story, obviously, but not enough room here to write it all. Bottom line, I have tried tirelessly to get a call back from the current director (there have been 4 since my mom was there), because I would like a copy of her medical records. She has recurring ailments now as a result of the accident, and Prestige refuses to acknowledge anything. This was in December, 2023, and we are still trying to resolve the poor treatment she received. BEWARE!

They get to know each resident and understand what is the most helpful for them. They treat each person as an individual, with care and compassion. During one of my first visits with dad, I saw a caregiver talking to a woman who was sitting in a chair in the foyer. He was crouched down to be on her level, looked her in the eye, touched her shoulder and in the gentlest voice said "___ are you ready to go in to dinner? Let me help you." And he did. That's how I wanted my dad to be treated. And he was. I was on the phone with dad many times and he'd forget and leave the phone, so I got to overhear the caregivers with dad when they didn't know I was listening. A caregiver came in to help dad with something. He was patient and kind, answering every question dad had (no matter how many times dad asked) and was able to gently redirect dad to go participate in an activity. Another time someone came in to give him his afternoon snack. The caregiver stayed to chat and visit; she clearly knew and understood dad. I was a frequent visitor and saw great care for all residents. Another time dad was on the phone with me talking about money, which was a huge concern. One of the nurses came in and heard the subject of the conversation and got on the phone to find out who was talking with dad about money. She was very protective of dad and didn't want anyone taking advantage of him. Once I was visiting and the caregiver came to get dad to go to one of the activities. Dad was always asking "What is there to do" and the caregivers made a point of coming to get him to participate and keep him active. One of the front desk workers noticed dad was particularly agitated, and he wanted to talk to me, so she got me on the phone right then and we got dad calmed down. I was so grateful for her caring. Dad's dementia and health care needs were such that I couldn't care for him. The Hampton at Salmon Creek was the next best thing for dad and I am so glad he was able to live there. It was his home and the staff treated it as such. If I had to do it over, I'd make the same choice again.

They took my brother in, then realized he wasn't going to die any time soon and they were stuck with his care. His class 4 sore miraculously went to a class 2 and they moved him out. He actually went to a much better location, an adult foster care facility. Community HH&H has a beautiful facility, but the operators have no moral center. It's a hospice mill and their business model seems be to keep the average stay time as low as they can.

We as families need facilities to be as helpful and communicate as well as possible. I have screen shot text between myself and Madonna below that are very much, VERY POOR business and careless. My journey with this home and Madonna... Originally met with Madonna and I was excited to get the process rolling for my loved one who is diagnosed with ALS. Her facility is very peaceful outside. Due to Covid we were unable to go inside. I explained to her that he had Medicaid during the visit and she told me that it may be more difficult getting him in due to what the home charges and what the daily rate Medicaid will pay. Fast forward I push hard for Medicaid to do as much as they can to get my loved one into this home. They express that Madonna will need to submit certain paperwork to explain why the daily rate would need to be more than what they are offering. July 2nd Madonna agrees to come out and meet my loved one to assess his needs. July 7th I receive a text from her changing the meeting time from 10 to 9:30.
