I read positive reviews here and was shocked that some people had excellent experiences with this…read moreagency because I have had completely opposite ones. My husband receives service from them. He needs physical help for pretty much everything due to his condition. In the last few months, there were several times when nobody showed up in the morning. I was at work, so my husband was by himself, laying on bed, not being able to get up by himself. They also keep sending different caregivers. I strongly believe having a regular person is one of the most important things for this type of service. When we ask them about caregivers who had been with us before, they told us either they were fired or quit. They definitely have management issues and I cannot trust them. This is THE WORST agency we ever worked with. Unbelievable.

I completely agree with the reviewer above: I would love to give 0 stars to Synergy. I have been…read morewith three agencies and this is by far the worst. As a client my wife and I have been spoken rudely to by the management, lied to, and provided with very substandard care (I have ALS and I need help with pretty much everything). When we complained and requested someone who could meet my needs we were mocked, and Darlene, the general manager shifted the blame to us. I had a caregiver for nearly 3 months who could not get the routine down; every day was like her third day. My ability to speak and give instructions is getting worse and worse, so I needed someone with the cognitive ability to understand and retain information. Darlene certainly must have understood this. And yet I was told, sorry she's the only one we have available. But in the same email she said they have a very high turnover and it's a tough business to manage. So which is it? I asked, there is no one else available, or you have people coming and going all the time? She ignored my question. They finally pulled that caregiver after she was 45 minutes late one day without calling in. I had a string of caregivers after that, who for various reasons did not last very long, and a couple who were scheduled but simply never showed up. Two or three times I have lain in bed up to three hours in the morning with a full bladder waiting for someone who did not show up, and no way to contact anyone. If you are considering working here, you should know that your schedule will change from week to week, you will be pulled from one client and sent to another one, suddenly get few or no hours, all without notice other than a schedule that they post electronically. I have had eight or nine caregivers in a four-month period, and nearly all of them have expressed feeling jerked around and taken advantage of by the management. They have a strict policy of not sharing contact information so clients and caregivers cannot cross reference claims made by the office. For example, one day I had a sub and she did not know why she was subbing. I asked my regular the next day if she had had a vacation or something, and she said no, she was just taken off the schedule. I was given no notice of the change, the two caregivers were in the dark, and neither of them was able to let me know directly. The agency is obviously out for itself first and foremost, with employees and clients treated like pieces on a chessboard to be moved around at will. I finally got a terrific caregiver and was told she would be my regular going forward. She got sick the first weekend and then was taken off the schedule for the whole next week, even though she said she was ready to go to work on Monday, and of course I received no notification. When I called up to complain about that, Darlene the manager informed me of my 30 day notice. Avoid this agency like the plague.

This particular branch of Commforcare tarnishes the entire commforcare company name. The staff here…read morestruggles and often fails to operate with the bare minimum of professionalism. There is no one in the state of Washington employed in the HR department. Instead HR is supposed to be handled by the owners Daughter who lives in Massachusetts. Unfortunately, when I tried to submit a simple grievance about poor communication things immediately became far from professional. In two days time I received a seven paragraph barely related rant from Darcie's mother (no communication from the supposed head of HR mind you) and my hours were changed over night from 24 the next week to zero. When I insinuated that it seemed like my hours were cut in retaliation to my complaint (which isn't legal), they immediately added two of my shifts back, which only makes me more confident that this was done purposely. Darcie reached out but refused to meet with me herself via phone and asked me instead to meet with her Dad. Why wasn't HR handling this HR issue? Why was I being placed in an exceedingly uncomfortable position when I simply pointed out that management continuously provided employees with completely separate procedural instructions? At this point the head of HR had failed twice to solve an exceedingly simple issue, then she made no effort to arrange this meeting or the phone meeting I had requested. At this point the work environment had become at best uncomfortable and at worst actively hostile. Some of HRs most basic functions are to handle employee grievances, and to address communication issues. Unfortunately this company has no functional HR department, simply a figure head in a different state and time zone who can't be bothered to perform even the most basic functions such as following up with employee grievances and scheduling meetings. This paired with requests not to inform clients on our familiarity with their equipment was more than unsettling. On top of that I arrived twice to clients that had never been informed I was scheduled to arrive. In my time here, four separate clients and families complained about the poor communication from the office and the unpredictable and sometimes unreliable last minute schedules. I watched five members of the staff decide to leave this company in the less than six months I spent here, and I made at least six, as yet another testament to the blatant disfunction in the management here. As someone who was previously employed by this company, I urge you to take your business elsewhere. Attached is a text message asking NOT to inform the client that the caregiver is unfamiliar with the clients Hoyer lift; something I see as potentially very dangerous and as a shinning example of this companies shady ethical standards. I have a breadth of physical evidence to substantiate each claim I have made in this review, and only hope that it forces this company to hold themselves to a higher ethical standard in the future.

Over most of the last two years we have retained a morning and evening caregiver to support hygiene and dressing/undressing and attendance at assisted living activities and meals. Our caregivers have been skilled and kind...a combination that is hard to find and retain over many months. In addition, Randy and Debi Kyle have been so helpful in offering perspective and advice as we dealt with increased frailty, dementia and family questions. They have made all the difference as we navigated the continually changing landscape of services and personal changes as my parents are aging. As our family life changes, we may well need their services again and it will be so good to know that their help is available.
