I've worked with DJ since March 2023. Last session was March 2024 and he's owed me 2k+ since then. See below for more details I started working with DJ in March 2023 to get in shape for my wedding. I prepaid him 2k in November 2023 to help him with his San Jose gym leak issues. I thought we built a good relationship and he would show me the same respect and consideration when I helped him out but I was quite mistaken. I informed him that I was pregnant and most likely wouldn't continue with him in January 2024. My last session was in March 2024 and he owed me 2k+ in refunds. He's made continuous "promises" that he'll pay me back. He would never initiate communication first, I would wait for his intended refund date and get crickets unless I text him first. He has made no effort to pay me back in any sense, shape or form. He gives all sorts of reasons for the delay and is now radio silence. For anyone that he owes - Please make sure you sue him in small claims asap since they take a while to process. I have done so and the judgement was in my favor. Let's all continue to hound him until we all get our money back. I sincerely hope you refund me asap and any other unfortunate people that you still owe. read more

[Girls, run away!! No training or refund if you don't go out with the owner, Donald Fields, he goes by DJ] As a female, I had a horrible experience with the trainer and owner, Donald Fields, who goes by DJ. See attached for black and white proof. I was with an another trainer in this gym, then my previous trainer got fired by DJ then DJ transferred me to him. After I expressed that I would keep our relationship to trainer-trainee only and nothing physical or romantic, he said he didn't want to train me anymore and told me that he would refund me for the remaining sessions I purchased. I followed up with texts and calls, he came up with all kinds of excuses and at the end he just stopped responding, and by today I still haven't received my full refund. I was also told that there was a married lady who refused to go out with DJ, and she asked if her husband can be present while she was training, then DJ refused to continue training her too and came up with numerous excuses to not refund her and she had to call him everyday for her refund. What I experienced made me feel that this business is very unethical and unprofessional. In search of a new trainer I visited other gyms in the area and they are shocked hearing how this gym did the business. I'm spending all this time writing this review and posting proofs to give other customers a heads up, especially women. read more

I want to give this business zero stars. This business owner is a fraud. DJ the owner is a fraud and scammer. He takes lump sum payment from clients in advance and then he does not schedule classes. He is also not a good trainer. He currently owes me $3000 and has not returned this money. The moment you make the payment, he will stop responding to your messages. His charge per session is very high and he forces customers to make an upfront commitment and does not complete the classes. He also borrowed money from one of my friends and refused to return it. I joined him in Dec 2023 and I told him that I cannot make a lump sum payment as I will be moving. He forced me to make a lump sum payment and confirmed in writing that he would refund if I moved. The moment I made the payment he stopped responding to my texts and refused to schedule any session. From Jan 2024 - March 2024 he made promises to return my money each week but failed to do so. He has now stopped responding to my messages. I am aware that DJ the owner has borrowed money from various clients and is not returning them. He also makes fraudulent charges using his clients credit cards. read more

the equipment is dirty and sweaty. The pad is covered with dust. The most funny thing is when I provide the cleanliness feedback to H. H called us "rude". Sounds like a triggered kid. LOL. Also, he thought he is doctor, providing suspicious medicines and laughable diet suggestions (don't take it). After calling us rude and he seems getting lost and no any reply. Will file in a small amount court to get remaining fund back. Finally, the training has no much effect. and he seems having limited customers. read more

My experience with 1 Body Training Studio has been simply amazing. The studio is clean and well equipped. I work with DJ, who is the owner as well as a trainer. We started off with an overall body assessment. He took the time to listen to my goals and develop a meal plan that works for me. He is genuinely focused on your progress and cares about your overall health. DJ and all the other trainers at 1Body really listen to your concerns and customize the workouts based on your strength and stamina. They also provide you with healthy energy drinks and protein shakes/bars. They focus on long lasting results and are always ready with tips on how to improve your lifestyle and how to better yourself. Let's be honest - no one likes working out, but DJ makes working out fun and knows exactly how much to push you to get the results you are looking for. Overall, this place is worth every penny and makes you feel like your giving your body the proper care it deserves. If you are looking for someone to help you with your personal training, I would definitely recommend DJ and any of the other trainers at 1Body! read more

DJ is definitely the best trainer I have worked with. He is super nice person and never lose patience in listening to my goals and explaining what are the best for me. At the beginning, he gave me a detailed, colorful, customized diet plan which explains how many calories and recommended ratio of each components I should take in one day, how to do the measurement in each meal, etc. I go the gym twice a week, so he also gave me some homework to do in the remaining days. During the sessions, he makes sure that he pushes me just to the right extent in every session, also he is kind enough to give me some treats (protein bars) or rewards (one free session!!) to motivate my hard working!!! I've never seen such a trainer who is truly thinking on your side and pursues results like it's on his own body! He makes sure my form is correct for every exercise. He's also professional and has medical knowledge, so he can explain very well what we are doing and why we are doing and what are the benefits. Also, the price is fair, you can choose from several different packages which offer different rates. And he has pretty flexible schedule, you can ask him any reasonable questions through texts and he will always reply super patiently :) I have been enjoying every training session with DJ and I highly recommend DJ to anybody who is looking for a fitness trainer! read more

1Body Training Studio - Gyms Near Me - Fremont, California

This was my first personal training experience ever, and I'm BEYOND glad I did it with Dj. He is so easy to talk to, so each session feels like you're working out with a friend. What stood out to me the most is that he genuinely cares about you as a person and your success. Outside of our regular sessions, he's always available through text whenever I had a question and would check in periodically during the week. He is also beyond generous with his time - he gave me a detailed meal plan, necessary supplements if I needed them to recover, and even offered to schedule extra time outside our usual session to show me home workouts I can do throughout the week. The workouts were also great. Each session was different and I got to experiment with a lot of different equipment that I was too intimidated to try by myself at the gym. We did things from standard weightlifting things to pushing sleds and flipping tires. I was always very tired and sore after each session, but Dj was always able to push you just enough that it feels challenging but you feel so accomplished after. I used to hate working out my upper body and neglected it as a result, so Dj focused on strengthening that and towards the end of my time with him, not only could I see more muscle definition in my arms and shoulders, but I also really enjoy upper body workouts now! He definitely showed me how you can get results while having fun at the gym, and the experience was just so positive that I look forward to working out on my own now, much more than I did before. The gym is also very clean and spacious. I felt really safe working out in the space! All in all, I felt like I got SO MUCH more out of this experience than I expected, and I would highly recommend him as your personal trainer! Please just don't hesitate to reach out to him and ask him questions if you're feeling hesitant about it, he's super approachable and just an amazing human being overall! read more

Please do not be fooled by the reviews. My suspicion is that when people demand their money back and he does not follow through. DJ will also attempt to smear me in the comments. Please read: I needed personal training bcause I had been bedridden from log covid after two years. This is after my husband abandoned, took half, and had been on disability during my divorce. He owes me at least $800 and I am in the processing of suing. He admitted he will pay me $800, and m suspicion is he will keep saying that until a person gives up. DJ, I'm sorry - you met the wrong person. you met a survivor who has survived a serious TBI from a drunk driver, being abandoned by their husband (after I helped him through school for four years), someone with long covid for two and is still standing. I do this only so that you may change your beahvior and no cheat another person. I'm not sure if you're capable, but perhaps a lawsuit will help others. DJ 1. Had me do an intense workout that lasted in a week long migraine that I took drugs for all week. I still came into our regular sessions. 2. While DJ will claim I asked to move my sessions from Tu/thu to Tu/Friday (because I had a meeting pop up), I never asked for a reschedule of a scheduled session more than 24 hours in advance. DJ was to allow me to go into the gym for "extra time" (not personal training) on Saturdays at 10AM. The first month I was with him he cancled every single Saturday with the excuses: 1. car break in 2. allergies/ cold 3. Pge shutdown 4 migraine. For an entire month I could not get in on Saturday. When I changed my time from tu/Fri (in adanvce for the following week), he used that as justification for constantly rescheduling my sessions with less than 24 hours notice. I had had enough after a rescheduled session was bumped three times (my usual tuesday session to wednesday. Then he bumped me in favor of another client. then bumpted me to saturday. Had a bogus excuse saturday. then bumped that to sunday. then said was going to church instead. and I said please refund my money and his whole personality changed. he tried to reconcile, and I worked out with him again this behavior started happening again. Another employee at his other gym he had to cover for, and asked if I could do the nextday. I said I couldn't, and clearly he doesn't have enough time for hhis roster of clients, and so I'm out and like a refund of how ever many sessions went unused. Like a petulant child b, his demeanor rapidly changed again. It was actually very scary and made me intensely uncomfortable. I talked to others about his behavior and they found it bizarre. He rescheduled on ME with less than 1 hour notice, and then was angry with ME asking for a refund. He probably targets people that are weak or have been sick, hoping there's less of a chance they'll fight back. DJ, pay me the $800 you promised you'd send, and at least I will amend this to say you stuck to your word at the end, but if you are overwhelmeed with clients, you are unable to handle the workload and refund your clients the money. I wish you the best otherwise and hope you will not scam other people going forward read more

One way of finding out inside information about a company is by reading the reviews. I looked through most of the reviews of personal trainers in the Tri- city area and I was drawn to 1Body Training Studio. Clients commended DJ a lot. I called and talked to him and during the phone interview, I was already convinced that he will be able to help me. I'm 57 years of age, who has knee problems ( cortisol shots, fluid buildup), considered obese, has high blood sugar and low self- confidence. I've only been training close to 3 months and I already feel so much better inside and out. My numbers are down, gained muscle, lost body fat and gotten good compliments from a lot of people. I can't thank coach DJ enough for motivating me a lot. He's very knowledgeable, such an encourager and always positive. He is very relatable and kind. His workouts are never the same, which makes it more fun and challenging. I always look forward for my next session. This place is very clean and organized. Well ventilated and I feel safe training one on one specially during this pandemic. I leave the gym sore each time but I feel good and proud of myself as well. Check out this place, talk to DJ and I guarantee you a rewarding outcome. read more

Had a wonderful experience working out at this studio. It was my first time having a 1:1 personal training and with DJ. He is professional and knowledgeable when explaining the bodyweight exercises and food intake. The studio is clean, has good vibe, and DJ makes it fun as the workout was not difficult but more mentally challenging. I noticed I was having less sugar intake, since I tend to crave desserts, milk tea, ice cream. I enjoy doing the bodyweight exercises now and it does not feel onerous anymore. Definitely a changing and learning experience for the body. read more

I enjoyed training with DJ. He reviews your goals with you and helps you understand how you can work to achieve said goals. I was eating pretty healthy but he worked with me to find the areas where I can still improve my nutrition. I noticed a significant improvement with my strength, flexibility and mobility. He actually makes working out fun with the little challenges he gives you. I was able to hit new PR on my deadlift and squat. DJ is very affordable and the location is great and convenient. I would highly recommend working with DJ if you want to see improvement in all areas of your body. read more

Long over due: Working out can be a humbling experience. Its wonderful to have someone positive and educated in your corner to instruct and shepherd your fitness goals. Let's face it, working out is hard! If you have a lovely and clean environment and someone championing (and correcting) your form it's easier. Highly recommend taking that step and finding a clean, safe, productive environment like 1Body that can help you meet your goals. Show up and the trainer will help you do the work. Shout out to DJ and his flexibility with scheduling and willingness to pivot mid workout to help you make it to the end! read more

The 1 Body Training Studio, is simply amazing. The personal trainers here are genuinely focused on your progress and care about your growth as a person. I've been going to this place for about 1.5 months now and I can already tell that my body is going through a healthy transformation. The personal trainers take the time to develop a meal plan that works for you (including meal plans that cater for vegetarian/vegan preferences.) They also provide you with healthy energy drinks (with BCAA) and protein shakes/bars. I've lost about 15lbs in this time frame and it feels like it was a very healthy and sustainable weight loss. So far, every workout has been different and I can feel places of my body developing muscles that I typically couldn't strength when working out on my own. Overall, this place is worth every penny and really makes you feel like your giving your body the proper care it deserves. read more

DJ is a fantastic trainer who motivates to push our limits. He is flexible to workout days. Training is affordable too.

I really enjoy working with DJ. He's helping me with a workout and diet plan. The initial workout was difficult but he has a good balance of pointing out areas I need to fix, and positive reinforcement. The reinforcement comes off as genuine and not just drone trying to gas you up. I look forward to my future training sessions at 1 body! read more
