This is a fantastic gym! There are a range of fitness levels and ages in the classes, and everyone gets a custom workout. It's more like personal training at scale than your average bootcamp class. There is a general circuit the whole class does, but everyone is assigned a different part of the circuit - so you can go at your own pace, and there's no competitiveness like CrossFit gyms. Fawad (the gym owner) tailors your workout to your abilities. I'm not sure how he manages to keep track of everyone's dumbbell weights and fitness capabilities, but he does! He also watches everyone closely to make sure your form is correct for injury prevention. Fawad is a great trainer, he is very personable and really knows his stuff. He knows when to push and when to tell you to slow down. The gym is not huge, so you do need to reserve classes in advance. However, there are plenty of class times and I've never had a problem booking any classes a week out. There's also plenty of parking. Just finished a month at this gym and very satisfied with the amount of personal attention Fawad gives to the people who come to his gym! Really nicely crafted workouts with push, pull and leg day with great attention to stretching and warm up to avoid any injury! If you are getting back to fitness or new to it, I suggest going to Body evolution. It's great for the elderly and people with injuries too. Note that this is not like CrossFit so don't expect powerlifting. You will see changes if you are consistent here which needs to be over a month imo! I tried couple of group fitness classes in Fremont area but I found the right amount of push at this place. Fawad is great at keeping an eye on the form and adjusting the difficulty of the exercises depending on how you are doing on that particular day. Pricing is comparable to other places. The studio is not huge but not too small either. Timings are bit limited but the current timings suit me so no complaints. They have booking system through an app for a class to avoid overcrowding and I was able to book classes for the week in advance without any issues. read more

I'm 3 workouts in and I'm hooked! My friend lost 30+ lbs going here and encouraged me to try it. I work out regularly but this was challenging - in a good way! I like that the instructor is there to correct my form or push me to the next level - things I was not getting on my own at the gym or home. Been coming here for almost a total of 3 weeks and I have loved every class. All the trainers are fantastic. They teach you what you are supposed to do, they are fun and enthusiastic. Tried Body Evolution for the first time last A couple weeks ago. My cousin, who has been coming for a while now,has always recommended that I try this place because they offer hardcore, rewarding, feel-good workouts; she was absolutely right on with that! The initial process of getting me started was easy. I arrived 15 minutes before the class to fill out the newbie paperwork and to receive a tour of the facility. One of the trainers then gave me a breakdown on how the class works and basically what to expect. Shortly there after, the music was blasting and the class was on its way. There are 3 different trainers, therefore the class was broken down in 3 groups that worked on different parts of the body at different times. This was nice because you do end up getting the full body workout! Each move was done anywhere from 1-2 minutes, which was just enough to get your muscles sore, that good sore feeling! After 50 minutes of the fun (intense) workout I have to say I was blown away. Throughout the workout there were a few times that I wanted to quit, but I pushed through and felt ahhhhmazing after. The best part of the workout had to have been when we were stretching at the end, just kidding! Lol, but yeah if you want quick results fast, I would assume that if your regularly come here- those results will show. Try a class, I don't think you will be disappointed. P.s. One water bottle isn't enough, bring at least 3. You will sweat like crazy in this class. Thankfully it doesn't smell in the facility, so that is a plus. read more

I recently moved from San Francisco and was looking for a boot camp/circuit training type of class. I hate the gym and all those trendy type of classes. I just wanted an hour 3x a week high intensity work out and I found it! I also have a gnarly hip problem and the trainers have helped me tremendously with giving me alternative work outs. Fawad, Justin, Adrian, and Jamal are incredibly friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and caring. You can tell that they love what they do. It's more of a family then a "gym". They bring their A game to every class and I need that after a long day of work! Another awesome thing about this place is they help with your nutrition, take before/progress/after pictures, and monthly measurements. This was something I didn't experience at any other studio. This isn't the place to pick up on people so everyone is working hard and in the zone. The class is broken down into 4 different circuits and you do a variety work outs at each station. You never get bored and you never do the same twice. Their are a lot of class time options but they are closed on Sundays. I'm hoping they add more early morning classes over Summer when it starts to get really hot. For people who bring their clothes to work, they have a few changing rooms specifically for that. The prices are on point. They have monthly and session type of memberships. Everyone at BE is awesome! I was working out there all the way until the day before I gave birth. They were accommodating to my needs and modified my workouts. Working out during my pregnancy made the whole pregnancy easier. I returned 2 months after giving birth and they also we adjusted my workouts since I had a C-section. Body Evolution, where have you been all this while? I am so glad to have discovered this place. Being fit and losing few pounds (actually a lot :D ) is my resolution for this year. And I am a person who can be super super lazy if there is no motivation to work out. Tried a couple of places in the past 2 years with no satisfaction. But after doing a lot of research and thanks to my awesome Yelp, I found BE. I called Fawad a couple of weeks back and set up an appointment to talk about my goals and he seemed very nice over the phone. He is much nicer in person. I made my appointment for a consultation on 1/9/2016. The first class was very intense and given that I did not exercise much before, I was cursing myself that day. But Fawad and his boys made sure that I started off slow but steady. By the end of the class, I was a bit hopeful that I might have found the right gym. Fast forward to two weeks and 6 classes later, I am thoroughly impressed with all the 4 trainers. Though the class is very intense, I enjoy it and it assures me that I will reach my goals soon. Each class can be somewhere around 10-20 people. We start off with the stretching exercises together and then split up into smaller group with an individual trainer. They make sure to correct the mistakes during the workout so that we do not injure ourselves. The exercises are also tailored to suit an individual's pace. I also get tips like how to breathe when I workout so that I don't exhaust myself. Also, we have different workouts each session. The prices are very reasonable. It is almost like having 4 individual trainers and it is worth every penny. The location is also clean and it doesn't stink unlike other gyms. I'm not really one to write reviews and actually this is the first time I'm doing it. I did it so others can know how amazing Body Evolution is. I've been training with Fawad for more than four years now and I never worked out before in my life before meeting him. My husband and I decided to change our lifestyle not just for health reasons but to set a good example for our son. I lost 39lbs since then. A lot of sweat (tears and fats) was lost getting where I am today. Together with Adrian, Justin and David; they make each workout a blast! This review is so long overdue! I've been going to Body Evolution pretty consistently since March 2017. When I started, I never worked out and could barely do a pushup or lift a 5 pound weight (not joking). I've slowly built up my strength throughout the years and attribute that to my amazing trainers who have constantly believed in me. Adrian, Justin, and Fawad are absolutely unparalleled as the BEST trainers out there. They're strict in the workout regiments, but their energy and encouragement always keeps the workout fun. They know exactly how much to push you and call you out when you're just being lazy. And most importantly, they're the nicest and coolest guys out there. I've been to all the main workout chains (SoulCycle, Barry's, OT, etc) but I truly don't even bother with other gyms anymore because I KNOW I can't get a personalized experience like I do at BE. I work in SF so it's quite a trek to come, but every time it's so worth it and I feel incredibly proud of what I've accomplished in one hour. Workouts rotate among push day (chest/shoulders), pull day (back/biceps), leg day, and my personal favorite: boxing day. On nicer weather days we workout outside in the front/back of the gym. The amenities change up every so often which I really appreciate! There's bikes, boxing, weights, bosu balls, rowing machines, decks, TRX, battle ropes, you name it! BE has completely changed my life. In 11 months I have gone down 3 pants sizes, lost about 50lb, brought my body fat % down and have learned so much about nutrition and meal prepping. I never ever ever would have thought that I'd actually enjoy going to the gym. But I can honestly say, I plan my days around my BE schedule. It is harder for me to take a rest day than to miss a BE class because I love it so much. Here's what I love: - The trainers all truly care about fitness, nutrition and health. Long overdue review!! When I first started here, my goal was to lose weight. But all of the trainers have really helped me establish new goals like building endurance, eating better, feeling better mentally.. the list goes on. The workouts are killer, but the more you come the more you'll realize that everyone is rooting for you and setting you up for success, whatever that may be for your personal goals. Also, it is worth noting that if you ever have an injury or any discomfort, the trainers will do everything to accommodate you and adjust workouts as necessary. From being someone who use to find excuses to go to the gym, I now wait and look forward to going to the gym. So, here's the deal -- this review is now (what I consider to be) long overdue. I first came to Body Evolution back in April during my spring break (hooray for working in special ed!). At this time, I had been in somewhat of a lull with my healthy lifestyle. I was a year to a year and a half in from attempting to repair my metabolism from previous heavy training and massive under eating (I know... despite the lbs that fell off, NOT my finest hour). So you can imagine I was in that place where I had gotten incredibly frustrated to the point that I really just didn't care to push myself on my own anymore. The truth is my trying out BE was merely because my friend was going back after some years hiatus and wanted me to be there with her for that first time (friends that struggle together...). So I went in support. I came in with almost negative (for lack of better words) expectations. You see, when you've done it before on your own (albeit, I still never felt completely happy w/my body then), you stupidly become a little skeptical about trainers, especially when it comes with a price tag you're less than comfortable with! Thoughts like "umm.. am I really getting my money's worth with 'group' personal training?" floated in my head. I honestly was going into this introductory session with no intentions of actually signing up... ... and then... I did! Okay, but wait... I signed up because it turned out I had a few friends going here and I just knew I couldn't get myself back on the road to gym consistency on my own. I needed my friends. That was my motivation for purchasing a 10 class package. 2 weeks go by and I've suddenly used up all of those classes and Fawad (trainer AND owner ) casually says "it's time to go unlimited" -- and so... I did. Fast forward to what is now quickly approaching 11 months later and I'm still there on the monthly unlimited plan. Now, the question you've all been waiting to have answered (kudos if you've stuck around this long in the review) -- WHY? The answer is simple: these guys are great! Fawad, Adrian, and Justin have all been constants in the BE fam and they've all got such great personalities and the drive to help you. But do you know what *really* makes it worth it to me to spend that amount of money I never thought I'd spend every month?? The attention to individualized needs! Let me be a little more clear -- YES, it's "group" personal training. And, YES, IT STILL IS PERSONALIZED!!!! They remember your injuries, they know when they can push (extra-motivate) you, and they know when to metaphorically kick your ass when you seem to need said metaphorical ass kicking. And they're FUN about it! But most of all, and one of the first things out of my mouth when people ask how I like Body Evolution, is the fact that they just seem to know my body better than I do most times. Like I said, they keep it personalized. Fawad ALWAYS seems to know when my body is acting up before even I can pick up on it. This is especially important to me as a sort of late bloomer in the realm of working out; it's very easy for me to insist on pushing myself and not notice when my knee is starting to act up or if what I'm feeling actually might be a sign to stop or modify what I'm doing (hence my now perpetually messed up knee from former training). So if you want a super supportive workout environment with trainers that will customize for you on a regular basis, this place is it. Give them an honest try and you just might find yourself several months later basking in your gainZ (don't worry, no bragging here) wondering how you ever worked out without these guys before. I've stubbled across Body Evolution's yelp page a few times and even contacted them some time last year to try out my first class. The reviews were great on yelp but I was intimated with the group classes. I finally found the courage to just give it a try. I have no regrets except wish that I started long ago. I seriously love this place! I've been in search for the perfect gym and this is really it! I even stopped going to my own personal gym because I really enjoy going here more. The price is great, clean and super friendly. I think that's what I really appreciate the most, the super amazing staff! The guys are super awesome and friendly. They're not intimidating at all and really pay attention to the details. Fawad, Adrian, Justin and Jamal are super attentive. One day I had a pinch nerve on my lower back, and ever since then they've always remembered. They check on me to make sure I'm okay and that none of the workouts are uncomfortable but still push me to do my best. They're always rooting for you to do your best and the make the workouts fun. The workouts are really different everyday. You will definitely leave drenching so make sure you bring a towel and water! Everyday after a hard day of work, I really look forward to ending my day with a great work out. This place is really a hidden gem that I secretly wish no one would find out about (lol, sorry guys!) because the classes are getting more full by the minute. I make sure to sign up for all the classes in advance so I can save my spot. I wish I lived closer so I can take the weekend classes. This review is overdue. I started going to Body Evolution last year. And I was hooked on the very first day! I've always been very intimidated going into a gym because I didn't know what the heck to do. The trainers at those gyms are more like sales people instead of trying to help you achieve your goals. Sad thing is I still have a membership at a gym that I don't even use. There are several things that I absolutely LOVE about Body Evolution. The trainers: Fawad, Adrian, Justin and Jamal are amazing! They are attentive, professional and knowledgeable in their field. They bring B.E to life with their fun personalities and positive energy. The trainers will push you to your limits...simply because they believe in you. One day Fawad "insisted" that I do several rounds of bear crawls across the room. I was exhausted but, felt amazing afterward. I left my workout feeling really proud of myself. I'm a type of person that thrives under positive environment. B.E is exactly what I needed. I am definitely nowhere near my physical goal. But, I'm motivated to sign-up for the classes and get my butt there. The classes are intimate and personalized if you have specific injuries. The trainers modify my workouts depending on pain points. Out of all the workouts that I have done at B.E, my favorite day is Boxing Day. Take a little aggression out and have fun at the same time. Always walked out of the gym annoyed, pissed off and not really feeling like I pushed myself. So I decided to try something different... Adrian gave me a trial at Body Evolution and I haven't looked back since. As others have said in previous messages, these guys personalize your training based on your abilities and injuries. Everyone here is at different fitness levels but we all have the same goals and everyone seems cool. I was a gym rat for years, working out ever since high school, however, I came to that plateau everyone experiences: no change in weight, strength was stagnant and frustrated/bored with my " normal routine". So I branched out, I tried group workout session ( almost injured myself) dance classes ( I'm super uncoordinated & have no rhythm), and CrossFit ( again, almost injured myself). I became super frustrated and almost lost hope that I would ever find a workout that would keep my interest and help me work on my flaws. Then I met Fawad at another gym. I fell in love with the routines he would create and his energy/personality. When he left and opened up his own place, Body Evolution, I eagerly followed him. Body Evo is the " gym" I was dreaming about. Classes always feel intimate, focused, and different. Fawad, Adrian, Justin, Jamal ( the newest trainer) know everyone's name, personality, injuries/problematic areas ( ie. lower back, wrist, knee issues, etc), and just how FAR they can push you. You will never feel lost in the crowd or that no one is spotting you ( I swear all the trainers have eyes on the back of their heads). I love the fact that while I'm working out, the attention isn't solely on me but it's always there. No matter what type of mood I'm in, I ALWAYS come to Body Evo ( 5 days/week); that should tell you how ADDICTING this place can be. Body Evo is my " happy place". I have a confession to make, my dear fellow Yelpers. I was that guy, who had a gym membership that I rarely used, who always made excuses for my laziness, and who felt "out-of-place" at the weight section of the gym. I was overweight, overworked, and always tired. It all changed two years ago. I joined a local gym in Fremont and met Fawad. He was energetic and passionate about fitness. During the one hour training session, the level of personal attention he provided to each person was comparable to having your own personal trainer. I've lost 20 lb. in 3 months and kept it off! First off - don't be scared. This is not your typical gym. I could make this post about the awesomeness of the trainers (they really are the best) but this review is for those that want to truly understand the concept of this gym to see if it's a fit for you. I don't know what you would really categorize it as but it's somewhere along the lines of a group training/circuit training/boot camp style workout. You will be doing a mix of cardio and free weights along with some other workout tools (bosu balls, medicine balls, boxing, etc.). There are no machines but there are a few stationary bikes. You can sign up for a free trial to see if you like the class. The classes start with everyone warming up and stretching together. The trainers will break you up into groups and they try to pair you with other people that will be similar in ability and timing. But the amazing part about these classes are that they are completely at your own pace so there is no pressure to keep up. The goal is to do the exercises in the correct form, not as quickly as possible. The classes are filled with people of different sizes, shapes, and abilities. I always hated going to the gym and feeling self conscious that the jerks on the ellipticals were watching me struggle on the machines. Doesn't happen here. You are too focused on trying to survive the class to worry about keeping up with anyone else. Once you get into your groups the trainers will show you what excercise you will be doing and will give you a number of repetitions.The ratio of clients to trainers is at most like 7:1 (don't quote me on that) so the trainers are near by to help you out with any questions or to correct your form. Once you are down with that excercise you are given a new one with a new amount of reps. Repeat until one hour is done. One hour. That's all it takes to get a kick ass workout. Do it. Alright, I guess I will gush about the trainers. They know their stuff. You will get personalized attention in a group setting which is incredible. They know their clients and what ailments each has so they can adjust to their needs. Plus, they aren't afraid to have a little fun. Who says that working out has to be serious? I can honestly say that if it weren't for the trainers, I would not be working out as much as I am. They make me want to workout which was a foreign concept before. And I'm not 100% sure on the pricing but you can do either an unlimited monthly rate or packages of sessions with the smallest being 12 classes. I believe that if you buy the 12 class package, it evens out to be somewhere around $20 per class (give or take a little). Compared to personal training which can be around $75 per hour, this is a steal. You sign up for a spot in each class so there is a sense of responsibility in showing up. When I first came in to check out this facility, I was a bit skeptical at what to expect considering how bad my conditioning have been. 2 1/2 months later, I'm still going and can't get myself to stop and pushing myself to the next challenge. These guys give you the pace youll need and will either push you enough or push you to the limit you want to be pushed towards. Each day is a challenge and new obstacles to expect. Fawad, Adrian, Justin, and David are great fellas that make the atmosphere fun and joyful. They'll give you the right advice and technique to get the most out of yourself. The coolest thing about it is that youll leave this place 10 times stronger having no idea how you got there. They really take the time to monitor your progress and drive you to the goal you want to achieve (getting tone or losing weight). Theyll measure your body fat, body weight, muscle mass, etc to make sure that you're in the right path. This place is great! I trained with Fawad and Adrian when they were at another gym back in the day (the only reason I left that gym was because I took a job in SF and couldn't justify the commute), and I was really excited to hear that they opened up their own spot. As soon as I quit my job in San Francisco and returned to Silicon Valley after a two year hiatus, I hit them up so I could attend a class. At that point, I hadn't trained at this level for a really long time, so OF COURSE I wanted to puke. Don't let that scare you. It was a great workout in an upbeat, supportive environment, and as soon as regained feeling in my legs (just kidding), I remembered where all my old energy - prior to 2013 - had come from. If you work out like this every single day (and don't eat like crap), you WILL see results. I feel like I need to get used to being active again and going to the gym on a regular basis (or as Adrian says, "hittin' it") first before fully jumping back in the saddle, because their workouts are not for the faint of heart - but I already know I'll be purchasing a package in the next few months or so. Best Best Bestest(if that word is possible) Gym. Actually I really don't wanna call it a GYM as the workout we do there is nothing like gym(atleast for me). I'm not saying that workout there is easy( it's no way near easy). The team will make you sweat like you have never before. They make workout so fun to do. There are not so many different machines like other gyms that's what I like about this place the most. Overall, great gym with great people( Fawad, justin, sarah, andrian) . Simply put, I miss this place. I recently moved to San Jose and my new work schedule has made coming here difficult but once I can adult successfully, I will be back! When I first started, I was super anxious but Fawad and all of the other trainers create such a positive and energetic environment that I eventually forgot all about my nerves. Trust me and all the other reviews when they say that Adrian, Justin, David, and Fawad are the nicest, best trainers ever. They seriously care about everyone in the class and constantly push you to achieve your goals. Not only do they work you out but they help with your diet and lifestyle. I have been in a lot of boot camps and this boot camp is not your ordinary or typical one. I gained a lot of weight after my divorce and my uncle's death, so I needed to get back in shape. Adrian, Fawad, and Justin are not only coaches but they are mentors, teachers, and MOTIVATORS in your weight loss journey. Adrian is my coach who checks my measurements and he is always checking on me and making sure I log my food ( he is hilarious!!!!!) actually Fawad and Justin are as well super funny. These guys do not play!!! they want to make sure everyone is performing well and making sure everyone is doing the workouts correctly. The fun part of this boot camp is that you will NEVER GET BORED WHILE WORKING OUT. EVERY DAY there is a different workout and COOL MUSIC !!!!! and honestly, I am pretty shocked and amazed at the variety and fun workouts that they come up with. They also incorporate boxing which is my favorite. This boot camp is so worth it. When I found myself discouraged and about to give up these guys believed in me and continue to push me to do my best. It is very important that you find someone to motivate you and continuously check on you during this hard process. These guys are impacting the lives of many people. I love how every month our coaches come up with a reflection sheet and a new goal. Also, the classes are small so you basically get to enjoy a lot of 1-1 training with the amazing and handsome coaches. He always pays attention to my form which is what I look for the most in a trainer since I have exercises that sometimes need modification. Probably the BEST hybrid of group and personal training. It's hard work, but with hard work you get 4 amazing trainers and a kick ass work out leaving you sweating head to toe! They also tell you the truth! For example, if this isn't the type of work out for you the will let you know the reasons why. Or if you're eating pretty badly, they are not afraid to let you know !
