My friend had a huge breakfast burrito that was just killer, he said. The wonderful woman who greeted us was busy mixing home made cookies when we dropped in. My B&G, hash browns, two eggs and bacon and coffee came to $10.75. Plus they offer free beans in the dining area ready in a crock pot. And the beans were incredible. She said they mix up their own spices. It shows. Everything here is from scratch as far as I can tell. It was our first time in but it won't be our last. Chubby's is similar to other major burrito places offering burritos, bowls, nachos, salads. It's an assembly line where you pick your style, add a base, protein, toppings and you're ready to go. I had a bowl (minus the taco shell) with chicken and all the different veggies, skipping the rice and beans so that I could maintain my keto diet. I brought it back to the hotel. The lady working today was friendly and changed her gloves after she finished some cleaning up. Nice to see that. My burrito was pretty decent, a good mix and flavorful. I'd have this again. They have a very extensive menu and everything is great from here. Some wonderful breakfast burritos have made early mornings a breeze and the weekend menudo is always delicious. To me, refried beans are the backbone of a good Mexican restaurant. I'd they are made well you can bet the food will be good and these beans do not disappoint. A perfect flavor and not too salty they are a wonderful treat. My favorite dish however is split between the Barbacoa and the rojo. The barbacoa tacos are always packed with flavor and are garnished perfectly. This barbacoa is not grease riddled like some places and it is better for it. The rojo is the perfect burrito filler, pork in ref sauce with potato and beans is my go-to lunch in Pampa. The plate is massive and I can never finish it but it's always delicious. Finally, this restaurant is one of the most affordable in town, easily filling you up with a $5 burrito.
