This was a pretty extensive project that included removing the old showers, waterproofing, new shower floors and wall tile, plumbing and drain work, and new frameless glass shower doors. Eric and his team did a great job, and we're very satisfied with the quality of the work and the finished result. We definitely plan to use EG's Built Construction again for future remodeling projects and other repairs around our home. We would highly recommend them.

We began our Culver City project with a plan to renovate our existing three-bedroom, one-bath home and convert our garage into an ADU. What started as a 325-square-foot garage ultimately became a beautifully designed 705-square-foot one-bedroom ADU. Throughout the process, EG's consistently exceeded our expectations. The quality of the craftsmanship was outstanding, but equally impressive was the team's communication and guidance. Their insights helped us make smart decisions that balanced our budget with our desire for thoughtful design and high-quality materials. As the project neared completion, our confidence in the partnership led us to take on an additional phase--adding flexible living space to the existing home. Technically a JADU, this unique addition transformed our front home into a four-bedroom, two-bath residence, while also creating the option to close off the rear portion and generate rental income in the future. None of this would have come together without the collaborative approach of Eric, the owner, and the entire EG's team. Their professionalism, creativity, and commitment to doing things the right way made a complex project enjoyable and successful. A special thank you to Eric, Andy, Oscar, Lalo, Abner, Uriel, and Hugo, along with all of the expert partner contractors who contributed to bringing our vision to life. We are thrilled with the results and highly recommend EG's Built Construction to anyone looking for a team that combines quality craftsmanship with integrity, communication, and true partnership.

The painting of the wood sections was done very well. I also had them install a new front door which they did a very nice job with. The only minor issue is the final walk-through. I had a couple small requests regarding removing some cables that were hanging down the side of the house and finishing a threshold on the front door. They finished the threshold, but that was it. One of the five or six last step items I requested. Overall though, they did an excellent job. I highly recommend Builder Boy!

The person who did the work also walked me through design and material options. I originally wanted a Doric-style column, but they recommended a rectangular column using a durable PVC-type material (used for piping) and even reduced the price. I was hesitant, but it turned out to be the right call. They completed the job in one day and the house looks noticeably upgraded. Afterward, I noticed some movement in the railing slats. They explained it's normal since the railing is custom fabricated on site (not one solid piece), and similar to others in the neighborhood. Still, they came back out and glued them at no charge, and now everything feels solid. The finished look is beautiful--neighbors have already asked for referrals. Professional, responsive, and stood behind their work. Would recommend.

No large project like this on an older home is without its surprises and stresses. The guys helped us through these unexpected "surprises" with reassuring competence and communication.

That project went well, although I didn't appreciate the pot smoking on the job. Then I hired Ken to fix a leaky toilet at another property. He ended up paying another plumber, and charged me top dollar ($1,000). The plumber deposited the trash including the old toilet on the street in front of my rental, causing my other tenants to complain. This is complete disrespect for the community (Long Beach). Ken would not call me too discuss...he would only text me demanding payment. I finally got him on the phone, and after a heated exchange, he threatened to put a lien on my property. This guy is a poor communicator and a lousy businessman. I plan to file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board and recover any costs incurred should he unlawfully place a lien on my property.

He is trust worthy and does an excellent job for a fair, good price. It is now a popular space and created a very nice amenity for the building. After he did such a good job in our common area I had him put a new kitchen in for me and redo my floor to ceiling metal windows. Once again he and his crew stepped up, did a great job, with as little disruption as possible for a good fair price. I mostly like when he runs into unforeseen situations he doesn't cut corners and does the best job that can be expected. I highly recommend Kenny and 5th Generation Construction.

The project included adding a new bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet, as well as opening up and expanding our kitchen, dining and living room to create a huge open and inviting living space. One of the more complex parts of the project involved removing a load-bearing wall and installing structural beams to support the new open layout. John and his team handled this seamlessly, and the finished result looks fantastic. John's crew was punctual, hardworking, and professional throughout the entire project. John's communication skills were great as he was always responsive and willing to answer questions, always replying to texts in the evenings or on weekends when decisions came up. He also helped guide us through the permitting process, which made a potentially stressful step much easier. Another thing we really appreciated was how conscientious the team was about cleanliness. With two kids and two dogs at home, it meant a lot that they took the time to clean up the worksite each evening and keep things as safe and organized as possible. The garage door modification was very substantial involving structural engineering drawing, replacing steel beam, new framing, etc. John was able to complete all of these and helped us pass final inspection. In all honesty we never worked with any GC more than once, but John is the only exception.
