I needed a bathroom door and door jamb replaced at my Mom's house. She had fallen in the bathtub and my brother needed to kick the door in to get to her. She's fine thankfully. I thought it would be difficult to hire someone for a place I didn't live at nor for damage I saw in person only by photos. It was a breeze. We had a small project at our home. We hired working hands to complete the job and they did so in a timely manner. The work was good however we had to have them back out to fix a minor flaw which they did without me having ask over and over. We agreed to a second small painting project that was time sensitive due to the holidays. I confirmed the date a few days prior. On the day they were supposed to show up they never did nor did they text/call. I texted and asked where they were and was told they couldn't make it due to a medical emergency and that their phone was dead the night before. I get it when something like that comes up but it still messed us up for what we had going for the holidays. Later after Christmas I noticed the workers got paint on my 1 year old turf. The owner said he could come out and clip the affected areas but I did not want further damage. I'm trying to figure out a better way to fix the problem. Working Hands is good but not great. I'm hoping this is a one off and by the looks of the other reviews, this may be what happened here. Carlos was nice and I feel his heart is in the right place. Both men were nice to work with, helped me figure out the issue and do the repair quickly and politely (this is important as its my rental unit). Not only was I overcharged for basic work, I found one of his workers talking on the phone for over two hours while sitting on my patio furniture. I hired Carlos for what I thought would b an easy microwave reinstall. I inspected the work after he left and too my horror, I realized that without authorization, he decided to go a different route than the prescribed microwave installation, and cut into my cabinets to mount the over the stove microwave from the sides with pieces of wood he had sitting in their van. When I requested he fix his work, I was met with aggressive and insulting behavior as well as a resistance to fix the botched job. As a homeowner and a female, being met with such conduct is a bit alarming. I know it was my mistake not to inspect before I paid them. Please learn from my mistake. He is very unprofessional and does not know what he's doing. Please.... please... save yourself the headache and money to fix the mistakes. Carlos is a guy with integrity, honesty, know how and very reliable. He was very responsive to my calls and even spent a lot of time going over our situation with moisture readings that I kept seeing at home behind my drywall. He came over and analyzed the situation and spent a considerable amount of time reviewing the details. At the end of the visit he assured us that we are fine and didn't try to charge me while creating unnecessary work. He advised me to monitor the situation and save money instead. I hired Carlos and his crew to remove some upper kitchen cabinets and under cabinet lighting due to a water leak. I was very concerned about the cabinets as the kitchen is only a few years old. Carlos was on time and he did a great job removing crown molding, cabinets etc. 5-6 weeks later I was able to have him do the re-install. Carlos and Jose did a great job.
