Came here for an early dinner late lunch my wife has been here before with friends and enjoyed it. Not sure if something changed recently, but pretty big disappointment my wife ordered a load of nachos and when they came half the ingredients were missing. When asked, they stated that they were out of sour cream and jalapeños, I went for the steak tacos. The steak was cold and rubbery And the flavors left little imagination definitely will not come back it would've been nice if when we ordered something they told us he didn't have ingredients to make it instead of just giving us a crap version of it read more

The service ruined this visit for me - no fault of the sweet girls on staff either who were clearly busting their butts. They definitely hadn't prepared appropriately for the event going on in the plaza and the number of lunch customers they might have as a result. The girls that were working were clearly overwhelmed. I ordered the Chimmicurri tacos which were tasty, but not exactly hot when I got them. Oddly the fries were the highlight of the meal for meal. I had a very positive experience here a month ago so decided to go back and review! I have been on a salad kick lately so I went for the 122 Tavern salad and added grilled chicken - it was delicious (hello fried goat cheese balls) and also filling! We got the Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was maybe the best I've had! It came in a bowl but I usually see them come in a plate! It made the difference because the pieces of bacon were a plenty ! I just have to add that both times I've been here the staff have been so super friendly! Like they know me - but they don't! I think that really made the difference here - it has a very homey feel and the kind staff add to that warmth! Looking forward to going back! read more

So we sat waiting for anyone to walk by to say hello, or someone will be right over. Nothing of the sort happened until 35 mins after being seated. We then received water and 10 mins later we were able to order food and drinks. From that point on the service was friendly and timely. Our son loves the wings there so that was our main reason for going and they didn't disappoint him. My husband tried the French onion soup and thought it was very flavorful. He ordered his burger medium well and it came out a little less than medium. My shrimp tacos were ok. The shrimp were a nice size but lacked seasoning themselves. The sauce on top added some flavor to the tacos. I know that my standards are incredibly high coming from a place where flavoring aka seasoning is never lacking (NOLA). Therefore I try not to be too harsh. I just have to learn not to order seafood in NE unless it's clam chowder, scallops or lobster. My husband and our friend both enjoyed their adult beverage but I could have passed on mine. Overall our experiences are good at this restaurant so we will be back. read more

Came here maybe 6 months ago and got the Butternut Squash ravioli. I saw someone reviewed it below and didn't care for it but I thought it was delicious. Excellent flavor. Sat at the bar and was nice. Blue lights. Nice ambiance. I'd say dining room could use some definite renovations (new tables and chairs) but the bartender explained the owner's story of how he opened during COVId and wasn't sure how it was going to workout so in due time that would possibly be in the works. Totally respect that. Tonight I got takeout and got the chili and the arugula salad and added grilled shrimp. Both tasty. Maybe a tad too much Parmesan on the salad and chili a bit greasy with a bit too much melted cheese on top but both very tasty. I enjoyed both. read more

New restaurant in the area, bookmark it - you won't regret it! Great selection of local beer, wines and house specialty drinks - I can't wait to go back and try a few of their Gin drinks on the menu. I took my son here to try it out, and man! We love it. We started with the truffle Brussels - o m.g. Amazing!!! My son had the chimmichurri chicken tacos, mouth watering goodness, delicious! I had the burger, bacon, tomatoes, cheddar, lettuce & onion - cooked perfectly & tasted great! I love the freshness of the food, high quality. Came here on a Monday afternoon, so it was nice and quiet and relaxing environment. I love the ambience here, the decoration is beautiful and the windows have a lot of great natural sunlight entering the room. I ordered the fig burger and the patty was delicious (medium) and fresh. I got it on a gluten free bun which held up well. Instead of fries, I got a side of vegetables which I'm glad I ordered because the burger did not have any vegetables in it. The only flaw, which might have just been an oversight, was I ordered a gluten free bun but then they deep fried the goat cheese in breading...I didn't realize that it would be breaded but kind of assumed if I ordered the burger GF then they wouldn't deep fry the goat cheese. No big deal, I was able to remove it from the sandwich with no issues. Other than that, great spot for a nice lunch! read more

I had an excellent experience at 122 Elm St Tavern. Service was exceptional and the food and drinks came out quickly. The highlight for me was my lobster roll entree, which was a perfectly soft bun packed with buttery lobster, it was absolutely one of the best I've ever had. For a side, I ordered the onion rings and, in addition to them being tasty, I loved that the onion didn't separate from the fried batter on the first bite. I also had a bite of the Fig Burger, which was an excellent blend of sweet and savory. Overall, my party loved everything we ordered and we can't wait to return. We sat outside on a gorgeous patio, really a pleasant setting for dinner and a cocktail. They had a Spanish tempranillo on their wine list, which is a rare treat. It was delicious! My husband is a craft beer nerd and he ordered some yummy concoction from Kent Falls...he was over the moon. We had a fig and arugula flatbread for an appetizer which was delicious. The highlight was the shrimp tacos. Sadly, I don't recommend the Brussels sprout salad... it was mostly tasteless. However, the Brussels sprouts appetizer is FANTASTIC. My husband has also become a huge fan of the short ribs entree. He says it is the best he has ever had. I will also say that if you are lucky enough to have Erin for a server, you will have a guaranteed lovely evening. Casual restaurant with a pub type menu. Easy parking in the back. Quiet place on a Monday night. Good attentive service.

Our server was friendly and very attentive. The food was lackluster however. The reuben sandwich was tasty but a bit meagerly. Competition a few miles away serves a sandwich just as delicious, but much more generous. As for the calamari, a complete disappointment. It was over cooked and with very little panko coating. I don't think their "A" team was in the kitchen the afternoon that we visited. read more

7/22/22 lunch at 122 elm st tavern today with old friends that suggested this place. First time here for all of us. A bit hard to find this gem in the maze that is the Watch Clock Shops (even finding the entrance was a challenge), but oh, was it worth it! With floor to ceiling windows and white painted brick walls, the dining area was very bright and cheerful, totally unexpected in a tavern. The bar area was more subdued and traditional with darker woods and mirrors. I started with a bowl of chili with melted cheddar on top, that was thick, meaty and had just the right mix of beans, onions & peppers for my taste. I asked for an off menu bacon, cheddar, cheeseburger that was seasoned perfectly (we all agreed that whatever seasoning they use in the beef 1/2 lb. patty was spot on). Pat had the Mexi-Cali Burger consisting of the same seasoned beef with cotija cheese, avocado, and salsa fresca aioli, with in house made thick onion rings on the side. Dave selected the Tipsy Texan Burger that was made with short rib, American cheese, black and tan onion ring, and smokey bbq sauce, with a side of fries. Our server, who also tended bar, did a splendid job checking on us at the right times and engaged us in light banter. We all agreed that this will certainly be in our rotation for luncheons from now on. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Great building and central spot in a very nice town. Food was sub-par at best. Ordered the giant pretzel and 10 piece bone-in wings for apps. Pretzel was ok but salted on maybe 5% of the surface area. The wings were left in the fryer 5 mins too long and difficult to eat. For entrees, the 'Jefe' burgers were the least offensive thing we ordered. Serviceable but far from remarkable. But how could you ever screw up a bacon cheese burger. Our friend ordered the 'Brie L T' - which by its name would imply that Brie is the star of the sandwich. It was visibly missing from the sandwich when brought to the table. We inquired with our server, she checked with the kitchen and came back to tell us it's a 'Brie spread'. After looking inside the bread, there was MAYBE a teaspoon of spread. Very disappointed. Lastly, my wife got the Crab Cake Sando (despite my cardinal rule of never ordering seafood at an unknown joint). It was cheap canned crab with very little filling or seasoning. Basically a wet crab sponge on bread. Another miss. Add to that, live music started up halfway into our meal. During the first break, the owner felt compelled to walk to each table with tip bucket asking everyone to pitch in. Kinda tacky. Dine at your own risk. read more

There were very few tables on a Saturday night, so it wasn't slow because they were busy. The food took a very long time. We sat outside at a picnic table that was rotting. Food portions were small. The flatbread was hard as a rock. Everything was salty. The Brussels sprouts were a bit undercooked and had little flavor other than (a lot of) salt. Unfortunately, I will not be back. read more

We have gone a few times and had great waitresses and good food but both time and multiple different drinks were made poorly. I love this place! The food is delicious (I can recommend the boneless chicken wings), and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. As a bonus, they feature live music on Thursday nights: a different show every week. But the real star of the 122 Elm St. Tavern is the personnel. They are without exception very friendly, very helpful, and very competent; good people, all. I look forward to seeing them at my (delicious) weekly meal here -- the highlight of my culinary week. Ordered a burger mid rare and they gave me mid to well done. Overlooking the temperature, my burger was bland. My mom ordered sweet potato fries and she got regular fries instead. We asked for mayo and the server said they did not have any. Service was bad. They seemed understaffed and my mom had to go to the bar to get a refill on her drink. Not worth the money. We stopped in to check out this new place and we were pleasantly surprised. The lemon drop martini was made perfectly as I requested because I don't like drinks too sweet. They use fresh lemon juice! The tacos were excellent! My husband got the steak fajita tacos and he said they tasted just like steak fajitas. I ordered the street corn shrimp tacos and they were fantastic! We were so hungry we ate the first 2 before I took the pictures. The bartender was very easy to talk to and gave great recommendations! After wanting to for a long time, my wife and I went to 122 Elm St. Tavern this evening for dinner. We opted to sit in the outside patio area which was a very pleasant setting. As an appetizer, we ordered the calamari which we both enjoyed. It was quite tender and had a very tasty sauce on it. We should have stopped there. My wife ordered the night's special, a strip steak and I ordered the Jefa burger. When the waitress delivered our order she said she'd be right back to check on us which she did once as we were just beginning to eat. She never came back to the table again. My burger was overcooked and was missing the red onions as advertised on the menu. The fries were cold. My wife's steak was also overcooked and mediocre at best. We actually never saw our waitress again until 10+ minutes after we finished eating. I finally had to hunt her down inside the restaurant to request a carry out container and gave her my credit card to pay the check. Very poor service! Overall a very disappointing experience that won't be repeated. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and we were able to get there last night. Their patio/terrace area is very beautiful so I was hopeful for a good meal and good service. We ordered drinks/apps after an extended period of time. We did have to wait for other people in our party to arrive which could have thrown off our waitress and her response time a bit. Drinks were nothing special but not bad either. My husband enjoyed his mojito which was not too sweet. Basic. There was a pretzel appetizer that someone at our table ordered which was okay as well. I ordered salad and chicken- the house salad with greens, tomatoes, and cucumber, and grilled chicken. The chicken was okay- on the dry side. The salad was not great. There was wilted lettuce and rotten lettuce. My husband said his burger was good but he would not go back for one. Overall, it was nothing much more than basic. The atmosphere was very pretty. The staff was okay.. at one point I had to ask to place our food order. The manager said- okay I'll send someone over, we have a full dining room... Will not return and will not recommend. read more

We had a good meal. Sitting outside was nice. Chairs were not comfortable at all but they gave us some cushions which made it so much better. We had the calamari which where just ok. The gigantic pretzel which was delicious with a great cheese sauce, and we shared the risotto and bacon scallops special, which where pretty delicious!! Pricing was fair. I'm giving 4 stars based on numerous good visits but this visit last weekend was not great. The place was packed, so I can forgive one bad night. If I had not had many great experiences here previously it would have been 2 stars based on just this visit. We had bought another couple with us and it was their first time dining at 122. I don't think they will be back. Fries and burger were cold. Server got way behind and we waited a while for a drink refill, but she was swamped and not her fault. My biggest problem was that they have 4 taps and all were IPAs. This place started to become my wife's and my regular dinner spot, but I wont go again unless they have a more varied beer selection on their 4 taps. Just a bad business decision to alienate all customers who don't like IPAs. read more

As this is a new establishment in the town of Cheshire, I was in slight awe that the restaurant itself looked somewhat dated...the service felt slightly unprepared but friendly. Having ordered the salmon I was told it was a "big dish" so I should expect to wait at least 30 minutes for it to be ready. I thought this was slightly strange as it was the first time I had ever heard of a salmon dish taking extra long compared to anything else on the menu. Little did I know the calamari came out 30 minutes later as an appetizer and my main course of salmon came out nearly an hour and 15 minutes later. Why the hold up? The meal was standard size and took me around 5 minutes to finish with still a somewhat hungry stomach. They also didn't offer any bread during the wait. I will say the one positive that doesn't give this place a 2 or 1 star would be the fresh quality of the food I was given. But it was shadowed by the mental time lapse I had to go through to have it end up on my table. Place needs an aesthetic overall and the kitchen needs to know how to prepare food more efficiently to have me come back...at its current state I will not being doing so. read more
