We were thoughtfully waited on by all the staff. Falcon smash is always my go to beer when I go there and this grilled chicken Parmesan sandwich was amazing. She…read morewas very slow in acknowledging my presence at the table and was not even apologetic about that even when she arrived to take an order. I had in mind a specific pilsner but was told it was the October fest version. I sampled it and ordered the pint version. I told her she could take my order for the item selected and she did so. In the interim she prepared a drink or another person at the bar and ultimately served my beer order. Now I can enjoy a casual experience but this had become a career by now. Not one effort to expedite And get that beer in front of me. Before she runway I told her I was ready-to order she disappeared to address a new customer at the " bar".. After waiting several minutes for her return I finally ask another server to take my order for which they did and within a reasonable amount of time the order was delivered to me. All this transpired while my assigned server was jawboning with the guy that had set at the bar some minutes earlier and now this guy became her dedicated concern. She took the next several minutes ( plural ) talking to this guy ignoring the rest of the bar guests including myself. I finally found the guy that usually works as a bar keep to take my dinner order, for which he did. My other arrived and was pleased with it all. The server returned to my table for which I advised her of this absolute terrible service and the best she could do for me was to get the bill so I could leave. If this were my bar this chick wouldn't last one shift or less. Moral of this episode is don't allow this bitch to punish you while trying to spend your hard earned money in their joint. AMEN !

Everyone else's plate at our table looked good. This comes down to the execution. Very poor. Anyway, some days you nail it and some days you don't.

There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!

At this point in my beer-drinking life I know I need to have my Untappd app out when making purchases because I've tried so many varieties. They didn't seem annoyed that I was analyzing each bottle before making any decisions. In fact, both guys working were super friendly, not invasive of my space, and offered great recommendations. Once we were finally seated, though, the service was friendly and our server was quick to get things going! She was lovely. The portions here are fantastic for the price, which is definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, the food timing was a bit of a miss. We all ordered salads at the same time, but mine came out about 20 minutes after everyone else's. By the time mine arrived, my friends were literally finished with their meals. It wasn't a huge deal, but given the length of the delay and the fact that I was eating my entree after everyone else had already finished, I was surprised there wasn't any sort of comp or more of an acknowledgment of the inconvenience. All I was provided was an apology by the waitress from the kitchen. Overall, the food portions and friendly service were positives, but the seating and food timing could definitely use some improvement! When she asked to cancel it because it was so late, the server initially refused and brought the dish out anyway. I quietly tried to explain to the manager, Chris B., that our guest was upset and that the situation should have been handled better. Instead of apologizing, he became loud and belligerent about how busy they were, which was embarrassing and unprofessional. It also felt like our large group received poor service because a 20% gratuity was already automatically added, and that charge was not very clear on the bill. Overall, the service and management response were very disappointing.

What really surprised me was how well they pull off the combination of neighborhood sports bar and authentic Vietnamese restaurant. It's casual, welcoming, and feels like one of those places locals are going to keep recommending to friends. If you're anywhere near Midlothian, put this on your list.
