I really enjoyed the food! I ordered the Dungeness Cluster boil to go. When I tried to order online a few months ago, it had a $75 minimum so I ended up calling since that's all I ordered. Besides that undesirable minimum order amount for online orders, it was a fairly simple process. The crab was delicious and really hit the spot for a random crab craving. Nice flavor, though I opted for mine to be mild. Overall, I recommend! read more

101 Crab - Seafood Near Me - Santa Maria, California

My boyfriend and I came here on 4th of July after a very long day of traveling. We got seated quickly. We got the 101 Combo with shrimp (no head) and crawfish. We also added to extra lobster tails. They gave you the option of it being poured on a tray or directly over your table. They also brought out gloves, bibs and wet wipes which were definitely VERY necessary but it's so fun. The clam chowder was a bit too liquidy and not super flavorful. The garlic bread was hotdog buns with garlic butter and toasted which was odd but I can't say it wasn't good. I did really like the seafood boil itself. Our server was very on top of it and patient considering we took ages to figured out exactly what we wanted. read more

This was our second time eating here and we enjoyed it! Hostess was nice and Jimmy (our server) was super straightforward. Came by, took our order, and checked in with us. We never really had to ask for anything because he already got it covered! We ordered the shrimp (med) and the clams. It was good, but not as spicy as I would have liked it. The ambiance was good! We've only come here on the weekday, so it's never that busy. (And they play really good throwbacks!) read more

First time visit FOOD: We ordered the Captain's catch and a fried catfish & chips basket. It was more than enough for the both of us and decently priced. The fried catfish were huge portions. We got the fries in cajun flavoring and as for the Captain's catch, we got garlic butter only and non-spicy. I'm not sure if their butter base has paprika and cayenne as their baseline flavoring because it still had a kick. I didn't mind but my mother cannot handle any spice lol. The color of the sauce was red so I don't think it was just garlic butter. It also was a bit salty so we asked for extra lemon to help cut it down. The shrimp, sausages, potatoes, egg and snow crab legs were cooked perfectly. The catfish was freshly cooked and meaty. No off-putting taste but also had a kick of spice in the batter but still tasted good. SERVICE: We got seated immediately on an early afternoon on Friday but we waited for a good while to get acknowledged. I'm not sure why only ONE server was taking all the orders when there's multiple people working on the floor? He literally had half of the building (7-8 tables). One table had at least 12 people in the group. Jaime was our server and was very apologetic about the wait which was very nice. I do not blame him at all I just don't understand how they do their partitions of tables especially when the setting is for big groups. It took about 15-20 mins to get acknowledged at our table. The positive of it is by the time he got to us we knew what we wanted lol. AMBIANCE: Plenty of seatings/booths available. High ceilings with great space. No smells of the kitchen that will stick with you even after you get out of the building. The waiting area and tables are clean. I don't understand why the bathroom was not renovated while the rest of the building was changed? It is the same old and nasty bathroom when it was hometown buffet. Overall, I think I'll try this place again but maybe during a weekday to see if the wait of service will improve. I thought the quality of seafood was good. The flavor of the seasonings might have been too salty for our liking. Not a lot of garlic flavor for a garlic butter seasoning. It's a good spot to try at least once especially if you have never been to a seafood boil spot but honestly I have tried someone's seafood boil off marketplace for better flavor and taste, not as big of shrimps though and obviously no crab legs. I think there is definitely room for improvement with flavor and service. read more

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. This was my first time here and from what I can tell, this new restaurant has quickly found its stride. I had their 101 Combo which I shared with my friend. Portions were perfect, and flavors were rich and fresh. read more

101 Crab - 101 Combo. Fresh, flavorful and so, so delicious - Seafood Near Me - Santa Maria, California

Good service, clean atmosphere, friendly staff. But the seafood was mid. The flavor of the seasonings was lacking not flavor packing. They also only give out 2 pieces of sides in the bag per item (so two pieces of potato, 2 pieces of corn, 2 eggs). Most seafood places also give out sausage as a side and this was not included (not even sure it's offered). read more

Oh man! I feel badly to dis this place as my waitress was sweet and nice and forthcoming, but the food is just NOT good . . . at all! Another reviewer called the coating on the fried items "tempura-like' - HA - I only wish that it COULD have been light and airy/crunchy tempura instead of what I had which was heavy and leaden and greasy. Ugh. I SO wished for a better experience, as otherwise the place might have been kind of fun, and good oysters are hard to find. read more

Wanted to try this place since we love going to Boiling Crab! The place is nice and roomy and has lots of nice decor but that's all the pros. We came in on a Friday before the dinner rush. There was a lot of empty tables and there were a lot of workers. We order some shrimp and sausages with the 101 special and mild. The shrimp needed a lot of seasoning. It was pale and did not have any flavor. Usually the bag would have a lot of sauce and seasoning in it so that we can mix our shrimp and sausage inside but not in our case. It was dry. Don't order the sausage either. It was paper thin and it doesn't seem like a pound for how thinly sliced they were. The service wasn't good either. The waitress was kind of rude and didn't check up on us. We had to flag down someone else to refill our soda. There was a bunch of workers just chatting and taking loud in the hostess area. None of them came and checked up on us. Poor service and food needs more improvement. For the price, it was not worth the price. Sure it's our only option for some seafood boil like this in town but for the price, the taste, and the service, I wouldn't come back. I saw it on someone's instagram that 101 crab was open and they were pushing it really hard to advertise the restaurant but I didn't see the hype. I wouldn't come back. read more

101 Crab - Staff just laughing out loud and talking a lot instead of servicing the customers. Poor service! - Seafood Near Me - Santa Maria, California

I highly recommend this place! As a new business, they're still working out some kinks, but the staff is really making an effort. A special shoutout to Mia, who got our drinks started while we waited, and Chris, who stepped in to take our order. Thanks also to the Asian gentleman who brought us what we needed and the owner, who was running around, lending a hand wherever he could - you're a lifesaver! The food was also incredibly delicious read more

The captain boil bag feed 2 people for the price $38 bucks. The seasoning had great flavor, the restaurant had cool decor and plenty of space. Our waitress Bri was very polite and attentive. Reason for the 4 star is the women's restroom could be more cleaner. Also the men with long hair and beards that handle with any type of food in a restaurant setting should wear hair covers. read more

101 Crab - Captain's Crab Boil "Medium Spice" 101 seasoning! - Seafood Near Me - Santa Maria, California

Food was very good with a nice selection. The server didn't seem familiar with their food or seafood in general.

Jimmy really took care of me and my bestie. Was very attentive to us. Great customer service all around .

It showed that they were not ready to open. Bar still had boxes in it. Service was slow, didn't have drinks ready to offer. The waitresses were doing their best but the back of the house was slow. Never received an item that I had ordered in my boil. They should use tin pans along with the boil bag so that the food can stay warm. Literally just dumped a bag and a discard bucket in front of me. read more

Our server was great! The food on the other hand!! A lot of the reviews stated np flavor! They were right! We don't like spice so we did the garlic butter, just butter I would say. I also ordered the fish and chips. Fish was not cooked all the way! Pieces were huge didn't look like typical fish and chips it was v shaped. I had it sent back and removed from the bill. Parts were still translucent ewww. I asked if the chicken was fried in the same oil as seafood, yes it is. I said ok well I don't want my chicken to taste like seafood. Server said oh it doesn't. I said im sure it does. Needless to say I won't return nor reccommend for anyone to eat here. read more

Good, was our waiter. Very helpful cheerful and not his fault he recommended the salt and pepper crab. We were excited to try this place for the first time. We got the lunch shrimp, fried oysters that came with fries. I got the salt and pepper crab. The grease it was cooked in was so dirty. Was really bad. It's all could taste and still can taste all the way home. We will try it again if they please clean the grease. Hope to taste the food next time. read more

First of all if it wasn't for Sam' Samantha wouldn't be giving 5 stars, she took care of us. She did excellent getting our requests... when 2 others just lagged it. Newly opened maybe 2 weeks? We waited 40 minutes , which they did tell us would take to be seated. I think they were kind of slow because there were short on help. Seemed when we were almost done we saw a lot more employees, probably for the late afternoon rush. Our food was pretty good, the catfish was good, the only drawback is they use a tempura like batter, golden and crispy. We prefer a southern cornmeal batter. The fried Shrimp, oysters were very good. Big mozzarella sticks cheesy ! Maybe in time they can add a tasty coleslaw. This place was busy. The restrooms were clean A+ . Lots great seating roomy fresh bright w dine background music. I think in time once they are settled and continue improving tgey are going to be successful. A great option for seafood. Affordable too. read more

Came on a random Thursday evening to try it out. We were promptly sat down and given menus. The service was friendly and fast! Kailey was so sweet! The seafood boil was amazing! We added eggs for the extra protein and dug in! For reference, we did 3lbs of shrimp, 1lb of muscle plus the sides, and fries. 10/10! Also the vibes were so nice, the music was 2000s and contemporary pop!! read more

We were a little hesitant on trying this place out the first month that they were open due to all the mixed reviews. They definitely listen to the comments and have improved. We had the 101 sauce, with our seafood boil, which is a mixture of all the seasonings. It had more than enough seasoning in the mix and plenty on the bottom of the bag. The chicken wings were crispy and seasoned very well. We had a little of a weight before we receded, but that is expected with such a new restaurant. After we were seated and placed our order, the food came out pretty quick. It was a busy night, but our waitress came to check on us as often as she could.. we will definitely be back! read more

LET'S GO So excited to finally have Boiling Crab open in town--this place is an absolute win for the community! The ambiance was fun, high-energy, and perfect for families. The food was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the appetizers were just as good and set the tone for the whole meal. BIG shoutout to our server Angel--he was on top of our food order from start to finish, super attentive, and made the whole experience even better by joking around and having fun with our kids throughout the entire dining experience. That kind of service is next-level and really makes a difference. This new opening is exactly what our town needed. 10/10 experience and we'll 100% be back! read more

Service was awesome!!!! The fried oysters were tasty and well cleaned-100% cleaned. The clam chowder was good, but not up to the standards of the oysters. I visited Boston a couple of times and had chowder at a number of places and I believe that this recipe could be tweaked to be terrific! The decor is quite clever with nautical touches all around. Will I go back? Heck yeah! The boil food looks quite promising and a choice of spice levels from mild to moderate to spicy. I'm giving 5 stars because 4.9 isn't a choice and the chowder isn't a more than a 0.1 in my perspective. read more

We ordered fried calamari, clam chowder, captain's catch, extra corn and potato. Calamari was cold but ok, small portion. SO disappointing! The the crayfish dinner that was supposed to come with potatoes, corn and sausage had exactly ONE piece of potato and NO corn nor sausage. At all. False advertising! Replied to bus. mgr. but can't post it here for some reason: Then why does it say "Boiled crawfish typically accompanied by corn, potatoes, and sausage"? The additions underneath look like they're IN ADDITION TO what the description says, not "If you want these you have to order separately." read more

Our experience here was great! ordered the 101 combo, and the portions were huge. PLENTY of crab and shrimp for the price, which was honestly impressive. We came on a busy Saturday evening, and the wait wasn't as bad as I expected. The atmosphere was fantastic. Great decor, good music, and they had the game on the TVs. It felt lively but not overwhelming. Our waiter Brandon did an awesome job. He checked on us frequently, answered all of our questions, and made some great recommendations that we were happy with. Overall, super glad to see a spot like this doing well in SM. read more

I've dined at my fair share of boiling crab restaurants. And I've got to say, this is the BEST flavor of them all. The 101 sauce is seriously delicious; good spice kick, buttery, and well-seasoned. I did a build-your-own-bag. All the food was prepared well and generous portions for the sides. Service was great as well. We were seated within 10 minutes and our waitress was attentive. And I love the decor. I'm excited about this addition to the community. I'll be back! I wanna try a po'boy. read more

Came in for first time January 1st 2026. We tried the shrimp po boy with regular fries. Sandwich was just ok, it was barely warm which leads me to believe these shrimp sit in a warmer not freshly made, lacked flavor it was really bland. Fries were good that's it. Also ordered the oyster po boy and and it was the same not warm with a bit of sand/grit in them, with Cajun fries but who ever made this spice has no clue what Cajun means as there was no hint of anything being cajun.. Our appetizer was popcorn shrimp which we asked for it to come first...which it did not came with sandwiches. At least a good 1/3rd of them still had the tail on them with batter and also bland no flavor and where cool not hot. The supposed cocktail sauce was just ketchup nothing else. Our drinks were mainly carbonated water with light soda syrup we sent those back...he refreshed them to slightly better. This was definitely a ONE AND DONE stop for us. No silverware, napkins, SnP at table. Server seemed annoyed that we asked to get new sodas . Don't waste your money here!!! read more

It's the only seafood boil place nearby us so we stopped in for dinner. The signature 101 sauce lacks depth and flavors. Probably the worst seafood boil sauce I have ever had. They need to throw more seasoning into the sauce not just butter and salt. You also do not see lots of spices collected at the bottom of the seafood bag which further signifies the lack of flavor there is. read more

Food was decent. Our server was friendly but the place overall seems a little unorganized. Terrible customer service. Went in to celebrate a Birthday around 8pm Server took forever to bring water, then when food came we asked for plate and utensils, he never brought it. We all ordered two crab boils for our family to share and they didn't give us a large tray like they did everyone else. Haley was our waitress who seemed very overwhelmed and mentioned how she got yelled at. i couldn't help but notice the way the owner treats their employees is quite disturbing and unfair. we understood her feelings but i would've loved some refills. at least from the big group of hostesses. maybe hire more servers? it seems like they're going cheap in that department. about money, whyyyy is it 4$ for an extra corn cob??? that is so greedy plus they put a tiddlywink of seasoning in each of our boils. for an over 120+ tab. overall, just a greedy place. 101 Crab - crab we had to eat on the table... - Seafood Near Me - Santa Maria, California

The hostess and server were great they provided excellent customer service. The restaurant looks clean and has a fun atmosphere lots of space. My food and my mom's food came right away but my dad and my husband's food took about 20 minutes to come out after my food did. It would have been nice to have us eat all together. My mom ordered a noodle dish that looked like they just threw a bunch of random stuff together and had a strong garlic taste very overpowering that it could not even be enjoyed. My husband got fish and chips he said it was good except the seasoning on the fish had a spice which was a bit over powering if it did not have that spice it would have been better, just a warning if you order it, there is a lot of spice in their food so definitely don't recommend for people who don't like spice. I got the seafood boil good amount of food although I ordered mild and it still had an overpowering spice and I do like spice but this was still strong. The seafood is good quality but would have liked more potatoes and corn in it too. Overall it's not that bad of a place it's worth a try. I recommend the fried oysters those were tasty. read more
