Took this 1996 Mazda Miata to them before, so I figured I'll take it again, since there was never a problem. I should've went somewhere else once I walked in seeing how sketched it looked. After 30 mins, he says I failed because of a check engine light but I pass everything else including emissions test. He wrote that the code meant misfire (which confuses me because I would've known) I change my spark plugs and wires anyway. I look up the code.. and it doesn't match!!! It's something completely not smog related. I called and Mr Singh starts talking that bullshit once I told him that misfire has a totally different code and the code that popped up is unrelated to smog. Fuck this guy. Karma is gonna get him if it hasn't already. Scamming fucker 10mins after posting this, he calls me, I wasn't available cause I was at autozone pull the codes again. I got back and called him just to hear him attempt to justify putting misfire next to the diagnosis # and then curse me out lol. This guy is a joke. This guy is everything but professional. My car was running low on power-steering fluid, so Nick (the owner) suggest I buy power-steering fluid next door at Autozone, and he'd help fill the tank for me. Amazing customer service! The owners are the sweetest couple - he invited me to relax inside while the service takes 5min. Meanwhile, the lady offered me coffee and a delicious Indian cookie. This Is a great family owned business. Husband and wife from India run and operate this business. Customer service is great. Fast, friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. Just next to AutoZone on Blackstone. The parking lot is tiny, but there were not many cars when I arrived. Wow!!! I just happened to stop in to get my required Smog Certification and I am SO GLAD I did. Every place I have tried in the past took at least 45 minutes; sometimes over 2 hours. I was in and out in 20 minutes with 1 Express Smog. Not only was I greeted with a smile and a good price, but the owner seemed to actually value me as a customer. The unique thing about this location is that not only can you get your smog checked but you can pay your registration fees and receive your registration sticker, transfer title, and a few other DMV related things. I would not recommend this shop. Initially he was very polite, but during the inspection he decided that he wanted to make up a law and fail my visual inspection based on my exhaust. He was not able to provide the requirement and told me to come back on Monday for an answer. Very unprofessional and confrontational once I asked for the requirement law. I needed a Star-certified Smog station as my car had reached a certain age and I searched on Yelp for the top-rated ones. I selected this one because of the overwhelming positive reviews as well as lack of negative reviews. Called and got a quote, which was the same as what I think all the others charged for pre-1999 car smogging requiring Star stations (total for smog + certificate was $49). I was warmly welcomed when arriving and invited in to the shop adjacent, which doubles as a little market where you can buy snacks and drinks and sit down. A portable evaporative cooler helped keep keep the area cooler in the late summer day. There were no other cars ahead of me on an early Friday afternoon and I was told it would take just 15 minutes, which is about what it took. It was great to be able to drive in, and have the Smog done so quickly and this made going to 1 Express Smog an easy and pleasant experience. You can see as you drive up whether there are other cars being smogged or waiting, and if you do not see any in the bay, your smogging will probably go very quickly. read more

So this is the place I regularly take my car to for a smog check. Come to find out, they have new owners. I was pleasantly surprised that they honored the same price as the previous owners did. Not only that, the new owners were super friendly and gracious! They offered me a free drink/soda while I waited. I went to this place based on Yelp reviews. I called to make sure they could see me, the gentleman said to come right over. He was just opening when I got there. About 10 minutes later, maybe less, my car was done. So fast! The man was very nice, he offered me a soda or water, said he couldn't offer me coffee as his wife makes it she wasn't there yet. They have like a mini store going in there too. The only thing I didn't like is that they sell pipes and other stuff, like a smoke shop, this is a big no-no for me. It was my first time getting my car smoged and the customer service couldn't have been better. The owner discovered a gas leak and tried to fix it for me, unfortunately it was unable to be fixed and I couldn't pass smog. Even as I was frustrated that my car didn't pass, the owners were so nice and let me have a beverage for free and let me wait in their waiting room for the tow truck to come. If the gas leak wasn't discovered it could have been severely detrimental to my car and myself. If I were to have driven my car from the shop my car would have caught fire, I am lucky I came here and was warned by the owner not to drive. read more
